¹[] Και ενω εξηρχετο εκ του ιερου, λεγει προς αυτον εις των μαθητων αυτου· Διδασκαλε, ιδε οποιοι λιθοι και οποιαι οικοδομαι.

¹As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!”

²Και ο Ιησους αποκριθεις ειπε προς αυτον· Βλεπεις ταυτας τας μεγαλας οικοδομας; δεν θελει αφεθη λιθος επι λιθον, οστις να μη κατακρημνισθη.

²Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down.”

³Και ενω εκαθητο εις το ορος των Ελαιων κατεναντι του ιερου, ηρωτων αυτον κατ' ιδιαν ο Πετρος και Ιακωβος και Ιωαννης και Ανδρεας.

³As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

⁴Ειπε προς ημας ποτε θελουσι γεινει ταυτα, και τι το σημειον οταν ταυτα παντα μελλωσι να συντελεσθωσιν;

⁴“Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”

⁵[] Ο δε Ιησους αποκριθεις προς αυτους, ηρχισε να λεγη· Βλεπετε μη σας πλανηση τις.

⁵Jesus, answering, began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.

⁶Διοτι πολλοι θελουσιν ελθει εν τω ονοματι μου, λεγοντες οτι εγω ειμαι, και πολλους θελουσι πλανησει.

⁶ For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he! or, “I AM!” ’ and will lead many astray.

⁷Οταν δε ακουσητε πολεμους και φημας πολεμων, μη ταραττεσθε· διοτι πρεπει να γεινωσι ταυτα, αλλα δεν ειναι ετι το τελος.

⁷ “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet.

⁸Διοτι θελει εγερθη εθνος επι εθνος και βασιλεια επι βασιλειαν, και θελουσι γεινει σεισμοι κατα τοπους και θελουσι γεινει πειναι και ταραχαι. Ταυτα ειναι αρχαι ωδινων.

⁸ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains.

⁹Σεις δε προσεχετε εις εαυτους. Διοτι θελουσι σας παραδωσει εις συνεδρια, και εις συναγωγας θελετε δαρθη, και ενωπιον ηγεμονων και βασιλεων θελετε σταθη ενεκεν εμου προς μαρτυριαν εις αυτους·

⁹ But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.

¹⁰και πρεπει πρωτον να κηρυχθη το ευαγγελιον εις παντα τα εθνη.

¹⁰ The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.

¹¹Οταν δε σας φερωσι δια να σας παραδωσωσι, μη προμεριμνατε τι θελετε λαλησει, μηδε μελετατε, αλλ' ο, τι δοθη εις εσας εν εκεινη τη ωρα, τουτο λαλειτε· διοτι δεν εισθε σεις οι λαλουντες, αλλα το Πνευμα το Αγιον.

¹¹ When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

¹²Θελει δε παραδωσει αδελφος αδελφον εις θανατον και πατηρ τεκνον, και θελουσιν επαναστη τεκνα επι γονεις και θελουσι θανατωσει αυτους.

¹² “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

¹³Και θελετε εισθαι μισουμενοι υπο παντων δια το ονομα μου· ο δε υπομεινας εως τελους, ουτος θελει σωθη.

¹³ You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.

¹⁴[] Οταν δε ιδητε το βδελυγμα της ερημωσεως, το λαληθεν υπο Δανιηλ του προφητου, ισταμενον οπου δεν πρεπει-ο αναγινωσκων ας εννοη-τοτε οι εν τη Ιουδαια ας φευγωσιν εις τα ορη·

¹⁴ But when you see the abomination of desolation, Daniel 9:17; 11:31; 12:11 spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,

¹⁵και ο επι του δωματος ας μη καταβη εις την οικιαν, μηδ' ας εισελθη δια να λαβη τι εκ της οικιας αυτου,

¹⁵ and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house.

¹⁶και οστις ειναι εις τον αγρον, ας μη επιστρεψη εις τα οπισω δια να λαβη το ιματιον αυτου.

¹⁶ Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak.

¹⁷Ουαι δε εις τας εγκυμονουσας και τας θηλαζουσας εν εκειναις ταις ημεραις.

¹⁷ But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days!

¹⁸Προσευχεσθε δε δια να μη γεινη η φυγη υμων εν χειμωνι.

¹⁸ Pray that your flight won’t be in the winter.

¹⁹Διοτι αι ημεραι εκειναι θελουσιν εισθαι θλιψις τοιαυτη, οποια δεν εγεινεν απ' αρχης της κτισεως, την οποιαν εκτισεν ο Θεος εως του νυν, ουδε θελει γεινει.

¹⁹ For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be.

²⁰Και εαν ο Κυριος δεν ηθελε συντεμει τας ημερας εκεινας, δεν ηθελε σωθη ουδεμια σαρξ· αλλα δια τους εκλεκτους, τους οποιους εξελεξε, συνετεμε τας ημερας.

²⁰ Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days.

²¹Και τοτε εαν τις ειπη προς υμας, Ιδου, εδω ειναι ο Χριστος, η, Ιδου, εκει, μη πιστευσητε.

²¹ Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ don’t believe it.

²²Διοτι θελουσιν εγερθη ψευδοχριστοι και ψευδοπροφηται και θελουσι δειξει σημεια και τερατα, δια να αποπλανωσιν, ει δυνατον, και τους εκλεκτους.

²² For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

²³Σεις ομως προσεχετε· ιδου, σας προειπον παντα.

²³ But you watch. “Behold, I have told you all things beforehand.

²⁴[] Αλλ' εν εκειναις ταις ημεραις, μετα την θλιψιν εκεινην, ο ηλιος θελει σκοτισθη και η σεληνη δεν θελει δωσει το φεγγος αυτης

²⁴ But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,

²⁵και οι αστερες του ουρανου θελουσι πιπτει και αι δυναμεις αι εν τοις ουρανοις θελουσι σαλευθη.

²⁵ the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Isaiah 13:10; 34:4

²⁶Και τοτε θελουσιν ιδει τον Υιον του ανθρωπου ερχομενον εν νεφελαις μετα δυναμεως πολλης και δοξης.

²⁶ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

²⁷Και τοτε θελει αποστειλει τους αγγελους αυτου και συναξει τους εκλεκτους αυτου εκ των τεσσαρων ανεμων, απ' ακρου της γης εως ακρου του ουρανου.

²⁷ Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.

²⁸[] Απο δε της συκης μαθετε την παραβολην. Οταν ο κλαδος αυτης γεινη ηδη απαλος και εκβλαστανη τα φυλλα, εξευρετε οτι πλησιον ειναι το θερος·

²⁸ “Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near;

²⁹ουτω και σεις, οταν ιδητε ταυτα γινομενα, εξευρετε οτι πλησιον ειναι επι τας θυρας.

²⁹ even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.

³⁰Αληθως σας λεγω οτι δεν θελει παρελθει η γενεα αυτη, εωσου γεινωσι παντα ταυτα.

³⁰ Most certainly I say to you, this generation The word translated “generation” (genea) could also be translated “race,” “family,” or “people.” will not pass away until all these things happen.

³¹Ο ουρανος και η γη θελουσι παρελθει, οι δε λογοι μου δεν θελουσι παρελθει.

³¹ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

³²Περι δε της ημερας εκεινης και της ωρας ουδεις γινωσκει, ουδε οι αγγελοι οι εν ουρανω, ουδε ο Υιος, ειμη ο Πατηρ.

³² But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

³³Προσεχετε, αγρυπνειτε και προσευχεσθε· διοτι δεν εξευρετε ποτε ειναι ο καιρος.

³³ Watch, keep alert, and pray; for you don’t know when the time is.

³⁴Επειδη τουτο θελει εισθαι ως ανθρωπος αποδημων, οστις αφηκε την οικιαν αυτου και εδωκεν εις τους δουλους αυτου την εξουσιαν και εις εκαστον το εργον αυτου και εις τον θυρωρον προσεταξε να αγρυπνη.

³⁴ “It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.

³⁵Αγρυπνειτε λοιπον· διοτι δεν εξευρετε ποτε ερχεται ο κυριος της οικιας, την εσπεραν η το μεσονυκτιον η οταν φωναζη ο αλεκτωρ η το πρωι·

³⁵ Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;

³⁶μηποτε ελθων εξαιφνης, σας ευρη κοιμωμενους.

³⁶ lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping.

³⁷Και οσα λεγω προς εσας προς παντας λεγω· Αγρυπνειτε.

³⁷ What I tell you, I tell all: Watch.”
