¹હવે ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, તમારી પાસે આત્મિક દાનો અંગે સમજ હોય તેમ હું ઈચ્છું છું.

¹Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

²તમે વિશ્વાસુ બન્યા તે પહેલાં તમે જે જીવનજીવતા હતા તેને યાદ કરો. તમે તમારી જાતને પ્રભાવિત થવા દઈને તમે મૂર્તિપૂજા તરફ દોરવાઈ ગયા હતા. તે વસ્તુઓની પૂજા કે જેનામાં કોઈ જીવન હોતું નથી.

²You know that when you were heathen or Gentiles , you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

³તેથી હું તમને કહું છું કે દેવના આત્માની મદદ વડે બોલનાર વ્યક્તિ ઈસુને શાપપાત્ર કહેતો નથી; અને કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ પવિત્ર આત્માની મદદ વગર એમ ન કહી શકે કે, “ઈસુ જ પ્રભુ છે.”

³Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

⁴આત્મિક કૃપાદાનો વિવિધ પ્રકારના હોય છે, પરંતુ તે બધા એક જ આત્મા તરફથી પ્રાપ્ત થયેલા છે.

⁴Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

⁵સેવાકાર્યના વિવિધ માર્ગો છે, પરંતુ આ બધાજ માર્ગો એ જ પ્રભુ પાસેથી મેળવેલા છે. દેવ લોકોમાં વિવિધ પ્રકારે કાર્યો કરે છે, પરંતુ આ દરેક પ્રકારો તો એક જ પ્રભુ તરફથી મેળવેલા છે.

⁵There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

⁶અને દેવ વિવિધ પ્રકારે લોકોમાં કામ કરે છે, પરંતુ આ બધી જ રીતો એ એક જ દેવની છે. આપણે બધા બધું જ કરવા માટે તે કાર્યો કરીએ છીએ.

⁶There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.

⁷દરેક વ્યક્તિમાં પવિત્ર આત્માનું પ્રદાન જોઈ શકાય છે. જે આત્મા પ્રદાન કરે છે તેના દ્વારા એક વ્યક્તિ બીજા લોકોને મદદકર્તા બને છે.

⁷But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

⁸આત્મા એક વ્યક્તિને શાણપણવાળી વાણી બોલવાનું સાર્મથ્ય પ્રદાન કરે છે. જ્યારે આ જ આત્મા બીજી વ્યક્તિને પરમજ્ઞાન વાણી બોલવાનું સાર્મથ્ય પ્રદાન કરે છે.

⁸For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

⁹આ જ આત્મા એક વ્યક્તિને વિશ્વાસ પ્રદાન કરે છે. અને તે જ આત્મા બીજી વ્યક્તિને સાજાં કરવાનું દાન પ્રદાન કરે છે.

⁹to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;

¹⁰આ જ આત્મા વડે બીજી વ્યક્તિને ચમત્કારો કરવાનું સાર્મથ્ય, તો અન્યને પ્રબોધ કરવાની ક્ષમતા અને અન્ય વ્યક્તિને સારા અને ખરાબ આત્માઓ વચ્ચેનો ભેદ પારખવાની ક્ષમતા પ્રદાન કરે છે. આ જ આત્મા એક વ્યક્તિને વિવિધ ભાષાઓ બોલવાની ક્ષમતા, તો બીજી વ્યક્તિને તે ભાષાઓના અર્થઘટન કરવાની ક્ષમતા પ્રદાન કરે છે.

¹⁰and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.

¹¹તે એક જ આત્મા આ બધી પ્રકિયા કરે છે. આત્મા પ્રત્યેક વ્યક્તિને શું આપવું તેનો નિર્ણય કરે છે.

¹¹But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

¹²એક વ્યક્તિનું શરીર તો એક જ છે, પરંતુ તેના અવયવો ઘણા છે. હા, શરીરને ઘણા અવયવો છે, પરંતુ બધાજ અવયવો ફક્ત એક જ શરીરને ઘડે છે. ખ્રિસ્ત પણ તે પ્રમાણે જ છે:

¹²For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

¹³આપણમાંના કેટલાએક યહૂદિ છીએ તો કેટલાએક ગ્રીક લોકો; આપણામાંના કેટલાએક ગુલામ છીએ તો કેટલાએક સ્વતંત્ર. પરંતુ આપણે બધાજ એક જ આત્મા દ્વારા એક જ શરીરમાં બાપ્તિસ્મા પામેલા છીએ અને આપણને બધાને તે જ એક આત્મા પ્રદાન કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.

¹³For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

¹⁴અને વ્યક્તિનું શરીર એક અવયવનું બનેલું નથી. પણ વધારે અવયવોનું બનેલું છે. તેને ઘણા અવયવો હોય છે.

¹⁴For the body is not one member, but many.

¹⁵જો પગ આમ કહે કે, “હું હાથ નથી. તેથી મારે શરીર સાથે કોઈ સંબંધ નથી.” પરંતુ પગના આમ કહેવાથી તે શરીરનો એક અવયવ મટી જતો નથી.

¹⁵If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁶જો કાન આમ કહે કે, “હું આંખ નથી તેથી શરીર સાથે મારે કોઈ સંબંધ નથી.” પરંતુ કાનના આમ કહેવાથી તે શરીરના અવયવરુંપે મટી જતો નથી.

¹⁶If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁷જો સમગ્ર શરીર આંખ હોત, તો સાંભળવા માટે સક્ષમ ન હોત. જો આખું શરીર કાન હોત, તો કશું પણ સૂંધવા માટે શરીર સક્ષમ ન હોત.

¹⁷If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

¹⁸But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

¹⁹If they were all one member, where would the body be?

²⁰અને તેથી હવે શરીરના અનેક ભાગો છે પણ શરીર ફક્ત એક છે.

²⁰But now they are many members, but one body.

²¹આંખ હાથને નથી કહી શકતી કે મારે તારી જરૂર નથી!” અને તે જ રીતે મસ્તક પગોને નથી કહી શકતું કે, “મારે તારી જરૂર નથી.”

²¹The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

²²ના! શરીરના તે અવયવો જે દેખીતી રીતે વધારે નિર્બળ લાગે છે તે વાસ્તવમાં ખરેખર ઘણા જ મહત્વના છે.

²²No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

²³અને શરીરના એ અવયવો કે જેમને આપણે ખાસ મૂલ્યવાન નથી ગણતા તેમની જ આપણે વિશિષ્ટ દરકાર કરીએ છીએ. અને શરીરના એ અવયવો કે જે આપણે પ્રદર્શિત કરવા નથી ઈચ્છતા તેમની આપણે વિશિષ્ટ દરકાર કરીએ છીએ.

²³Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

²⁴ખરેખર તો આપણા શરીરના સૌથી સુંદર ભાગોને કોઈ વિશિષ્ટ કાળજીની જરુંર પડતી નથી. પણ જે ભાગ ને ઓછું માન અપાયું હતું તેને દેવે વિશેષ માન આપીને વ્યવસ્થિત રીતે શરીરમાં જોડ્યા છે.

²⁴whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

²⁵દેવે આમ કર્યુ છે કે જેથી આપણું અંગ વિભાજીત ન થઈ જાય. દેવની ઈચ્છા એવી હતી કે બધા અવયવો એકબીજાને માટે એક સરખી ચિંતા રાખે.

²⁵that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

²⁶જો શરીરનો એક અવયવ પીડાય તો તેની સાથે શરીરના બીજા બધાજ અબયવોને પણ વેદના થશે. અથવા શરીરનો કોઈ એક અવયવ સન્માનિત થાય તો બીજા બધા જ અવયવો પણ આનંદ પામે છે.

²⁶When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

²⁷તમે બધા સમૂહ તરીકે ખ્રિસ્તનું શરીર છો. વ્યક્તિગત રીતે તમે દરેક તે શરીરનો કોઈ એક અવયવ છો.

²⁷Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

²⁸અને મંડળીમાં દેવે પ્રેરિતોને પ્રથમ સ્થાન, પ્રબોધકોને દ્વિતીય સ્થાન અને તૃતીય સ્થાન ઉપદેશકને આપેલું છે. પછી દેવે જે લોકો ચમત્કારો કરે છે તેઓને માટે પણ એક સ્થાન નિશ્ચિત કર્યુ છે. અને તે જ રીતે જે લોકોની પાસે રોગીઓને સાજા કરવાની ક્ષમતા છે, જે લોકો અન્યને મદદરુંપ થાય છે, જે લોકોમાં અગ્રેસરનો ગુણ છે અને જે લોકો વિવિધ ભાષાઓ બોલે છે તેઓને માટે પણ દેવે કોઈ એક સ્થાન નિશ્ચિત કર્યુ છે.

²⁸God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

²⁹બધા લોકો પ્રેરિતો નથી કે બધા લોકો પ્રબોધકો થઈ શકે નહિ. બધા લોકો ચમત્કારો પણ કરી શકતા નથી.

²⁹Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

³⁰કે બધાની પાસે બીજાને સાજા કરવાની ક્ષમતા પણ નથી. બધા લોકો જુદી જુદી ભાષામાં બોલી શકતા નથી. બધા લોકો આ ભાષાઓનું અર્થઘટન કરવા માટે સમર્થ નથી હોતા.

³⁰Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

³¹તમારે તો ખરેખર આત્માના ઉત્તમ કૃપાદાનોની જ ઈચ્છા રાખવી જોઈએ. હું તમને સૌથી ઉત્તમ માર્ગ દર્શાવીશ.

³¹But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
