¹ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુના, પ્રેરિત પાઉલ તરફથી, કુશળતા હો હું એક પ્રેરિત છું કારણ કે દેવની એવી ઈચ્છા હતી. આપણો ભાઈ તિમોથી જે ખ્રિસ્તમાં છે તેના તરફથી પણ અભિવાદન. દેવની મંડળી જે કરિંથમાં છે અને આખા અખાયામાંના દેશના દેવના બધાજ લોકોને:

¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

²આપણા દેવ પિતા તરફથી તથા ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત તમને કૃપા અને શાંતિ પ્રાપ્ત થાઓ.

²Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તના દેવ અને પિતાને ધન્ય હો. દેવ પિતા છે જે દયાથી પૂર્ણ છે. તે સર્વ દિલાસાનો બાપ છે.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;

⁴જ્યારે પણ આપણને મુશ્કેલી નડે ત્યારે તે આપણને દિલાસો આપે છે કે જેથી અન્ય લોકો જેઓને કોઈ પણ જાતની મુશ્કેલીઓ હોય, ત્યારે આપણે તેમને દિલાસો આપી શકીએ. જે રીતે દેવ આપણને જે દિલાસો આપે છે તે જ દિલાસો આપણે તેમને આપી શકીએ.

⁴who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

⁵આપણે ખ્રિસ્તની ધણી પીડાઓમાં ભાગીદાર થઈ શકીએ. એજ રીતે ધણો દિલાસો આપણને ખ્રિસ્ત તરફથી મળે છે.

⁵For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

⁶જો અમને મુશ્કેલીઓ નડે, તો તે મુશ્કેલીઓ તમારા દિલાસા અને તમારા ઉદ્ધાર માટે છે. જો અમને દિલાસો મળે તો તે તમારા દિલાસા માટે છે. અમારા જેવી જ પીડાને ધૈર્ય પૂર્વક સ્વીકારવા માટે આ તમને મદદરૂપ નીવડે છે.

⁶But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

⁷તમારા માટેની અમારી આશા મજબૂત છે. અમે જાણીએ છીએ કે અમારા દુ:ખમાં તમે સહભાગીદાર છો. તેથી અમે જાણીએ છીએ કે અમારા દિલાસામાં પણ તમે ભાગીદાર છો.

⁷Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.

⁸ભાઈઓ તથા બહેનો, અમે ઈચ્છીએ છીએ કે આસિયાના દેશમાં અમારે જે મુશ્કેલીઓનો સામનો કરવો પડ્યો તેનાથી તમે પરિચિત થાઓ. અમારી શક્તિ કરતાં પણ વધુ એવો એ બોજ હતો. અમે જીવવાની આશા પણ છોડી દીધી હતી.

⁸For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

⁹ખરેખર, અમને અમારા મનમાં તો એમ જ હતું કે અમે મરી જઈશું. પરંતુ આ બન્યું કે જેથી અમે અમારી જાત પર વિશ્વાસ ન કરીએ પણ જે લોકોને મરણમાંથી ઊઠાડે છે તે દેવ પર વિશ્વાસ કરીએ.

⁹Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

¹⁰મૃત્યુના આ મોટા ભયમાંથી દેવે અમને બચાવ્યા અને દેવ અમને સતત બચાવશે. અમારી આશા તેનામાં છે, અને તે અમને બચાવવાનું ચાલુ રાખશે.

¹⁰who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

¹¹અને પછી ધણા લોકો આભાર માનશે. કારણ કે દેવે તેમની ધણી પ્રાર્થનાઓ દ્વારા આપણને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા છે. અને તમે તમારી પ્રાર્થનાઓ દ્વારા અમને મદદરૂપ થશો.

¹¹you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

¹²અમે આ માટે ગર્વ અનુભવીએ છીએ, અને હું હૃદયપૂર્વક આ સત્ય કહુ છું. અમે દુનિયામાં જે કઈ વસ્તુ કરી છે, તે બધી જ, દેવ પ્રેરિત, પ્રામાણિક અને શુદ્ધ હૃદયથી કરી છે. અને તમારી સાથે અમે જે વસ્તુ કરી છે તે અંગે તો આ વધુ સત્ય છે. અમે દેવની કૃપાથી જ આ કર્યુ, નહિ કે દુનિયાના ડહાપણને કારણે.

¹²For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

¹³અમે તમને એજ વસ્તુ લખીએ છીએ જે તમે વાંચી અને સમજી શકો. અને હું આશા રાખું છું કે તમે સંપૂર્ણ રીતે સમજશો.

¹³For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end;

¹⁴જે રીતે અમારા વિષેની કેટલીક બાબતો તમે સમજી ચુક્યા છો. હું આશા રાખું છું કે તમે સમજશો કે તમે અમારા માટે ગર્વ અનુભવી શકો છો, એ જ રીતે જે રીતે, આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુના પુનરાગમનને દિવસે અમે તમારા માટે ગર્વ અનુભવીશું.

¹⁴as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

¹⁵મને આ સર્વ વિષે ખાતરી છે. અને તેથી જ પહેલા તમારી મુલાકાત લેવાની મેં યોજના કરી હતી. પછી તમે બે વખત આશીર્વાદીત થઈ શકો.

¹⁵In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;

¹⁶મકદોનિયા જતા રસ્તામાં તમારી મુલાકાત લેવાની મારી યોજના હતી. અને પછી પાછા ફરતા ફરીથી તમારી મુલાકાત લેવાની મારી યોજના હતી. મારા યહૂદિયાના પ્રવાસ માટે તમારી મદદ લેવાની મારી ઈચ્છા હતી.

¹⁶and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

¹⁷શું તમે એમ માનો છો કે મેં ખરેખર વિચાર્યા વગર તે યોજનાઓ કરી હતી? અથવા કદાચ તમે એમ માનશો કે જે રીતે દુનિયા યોજનાઓ કરે છે એ રીતે મેં યોજનાઓ કરી હશે, કે જેથી હુ, “હા ની હા” કહું અને તે જ સમયે “ના ની ના” પણ કહું.

¹⁷When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

¹⁸પરંતુ જો તમે દેવમાં માનતા હો તો, તમે માનશો કે અમે તમને કદી પણ એક જ સમયે “હા” અને “ના” સાથે નથી કહ્યું.

¹⁸But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”

¹⁹દેવ પુત્ર ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત, સિલ્વાનુસ અને તિમોથી અને મેં તમને જે ઉપદેશ આપ્યો તે “હા” અને “ના” નહોતો. ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં હમેશા “હા” હતી.

¹⁹For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

²⁰દેવના દરેક વચનોની “હા” તે ખ્રિસ્તમાં છે. અને તેથી જ આપણે ખ્રિસ્તના થકી “આમીન” કહીએ છીએ. દેવનો મહિમા થાઓ.

²⁰For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen,” to the glory of God through us.

²¹અને દેવ તે એક છે જે આપણને ખ્રિસ્ત થકી તમારી સાથે શક્તિશાળી બનાવે છે. દેવે આપણને તેના વિશિષ્ટ આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા છે.

²¹Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;

²²આપણે તેના છીએ તે સાબિત કરવા તે તેનું અદભૂત ચિહન આપણા ઉપર મૂકે છે. અને તેણે જે વચન આપ્યું છે તે પ્રમાણે તે આપશે તેની ખાતરીરુંપે, તેની સાબિતીરુંપે, તે તેનો આત્મા આપણા હૃદયમાં મૂકે છે.

²²who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

²³હું દેવની સાક્ષીએ તમને સત્ય કહું છું. હું કરિંથ પાછો ન આવ્યો તેનું કારણ એ જ હતું કે મારી ઈચ્છા તમને ઈજા પહોંચાડવાની નહોતી.

²³But I call God for a witness to my soul, that I didn’t come to Corinth to spare you.

²⁴હું એમ કહેવા નથી માગતો કે અમે તમારા વિશ્વાસને અંકૂશ કરવા માગીએ છીએ. તમે તમારા વિશ્વાસમાં દઢ છો. પરંતુ તમારા સુખ-આનંદ માટેના અમે સહકાર્યકર છીએ.

²⁴Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
