¹ઈસુએ તેના બાર શિષ્યોને બોલાવ્યા. ઈસુએ તેઓને અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓને કાઢવાની તથા દરેક જાતની માંદગી અને બીમારીમાંથી સાજા કરવાની શક્તિ આપી.

¹He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.

²બાર પ્રેરિતોનાં નામ આ પ્રમાણે છે: પ્રથમ સિમોન જે પિતર કહેવાય છે તેનો ભાઈ આંન્દ્રિયા, ઝબદીનો દીકરો યાકૂબ તથા તેનો ભાઈ યોહાન.

²Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;

³ફિલિપ અને બર્થોલ્મી; થોમા તથા કર ઉઘરાવનાર માથ્થી; અલ્ફીનો દીકરો યાકૂબ અને થદી;

³Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; Lebbaeus, whose surname was NU omits “Lebbaeus, whose surname was” Thaddaeus;

⁴સિમોન કનાની તથા યહૂદા ઈશ્કરિયોત, જે તેને દુશ્મનના હાથમાં સોપી દેનારો હતો.

⁴Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

⁵આ બાર જણને બહાર મોકલતી વખતે ઈસુએ તેમને આજ્ઞા કરી કે જ્યાં બિન-યહૂદીઓ વસે છે ત્યાં જશો નહિ અને કોઈપણ સમરૂનીઓના નગરમાં જશો નહિ.

⁵Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.

⁶પણ ઈસ્રાએલના લોકો પાસે જાઓ. તે યહૂદીઓ ખોવાયેલા ઘેંટા જેવાં છે.

⁶ Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

⁷જેવા તમે જાઓ કે તરત જ તેઓને ઉપદેશ આપો કે, ‘આકાશનું રાજ્ય ટૂંક સમયમાં આવી રહ્યું છે.’

⁷ As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’

⁸માંદા લોકોને સાજા કરો. મરેલાને જીવતા કરો. રક્તપિત્તના રોગીઓને સાજા કરો અને અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓને કાઢો. હું તમને આ સાર્મથ્ય વિના મૂલ્યે આપું છું. માટે તમે પણ દરેકને વિના મૂલ્યે આપો.

⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers TR adds “, raise the dead” , and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.

⁹તમારી સાથે સોનું, રૂપું કે તાંબુ કે કોઈપણ પ્રકારનું નાંણુ રાખશો નહિ.

⁹ Don’t take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.

¹⁰મુસાફરી દરમ્યાન તમારી સાથે ફક્ત તમે જે કપડા પહેર્યા છે તે તથા જે પગરખા પહેર્યા છે તે જ રાખશો. ચાલવા માટે લાકડી પણ લેશો નહિ. વધારાનાં કપડાં કે પગરખાં પણ ના રાખશો કારણ કે કામ કરનાર ને તેની જરૂરિયાતની વસ્તુઓ આપવામાં આવશે જ.

¹⁰ Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

¹¹“જ્યારે તમે જે નગરમાં કે ગામમાં પ્રવેશો, ત્યારે કોઈ લાયક વ્યક્તિની શોધ કરો અને બીજા સ્થળે જવાનું થાય ત્યાં સુધી તેને ઘેર જ રહો.

¹¹ Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.

¹²જે ઘરમાં તમને આવકાર મળે તેમને કહો, ‘શાંતિ તમારી સાથે રહો.’

¹² As you enter into the household, greet it.

¹³જો ઘરના લોકો લાયક હશે તો તમારા આશીર્વાદ એમની સાથે રહેશે. પણ જો તેઓ લાયક નહિ હોય તો તમે આપેલી શાંતિની આશિષ તમારી પાસે પાછી આવશે.

¹³ If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.

¹⁴અને જો કોઈ શહેર અથવા ઘર તમારો સત્કાર ના કરે, તો ત્યાંથી તરત જ નીકળી જાઓ અને ત્યાંની ધૂળ તમારા પગે લાગી હોય તો તે ખંખેરી નાખો.

¹⁴ Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.

¹⁵હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું કે, ન્યાયના દિવસે સદોમ અને ગમોરા નગરોની હાલત તે નગરના કરતાં સારી હશે. તથા તેમના તરફ વધારે ઉદારતા બતાવાશે.

¹⁵ Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

¹⁶“સાંભળો! હું તમને એવી જગ્યાએ મોકલી રહ્યો છું કે જ્યાં વરુંઓની વચ્ચે તમે ઘેટાં જેવા લાગશો. આથી તમે સાપ જેવા ચપળ અને કબૂતર જેવા સાલસ બનો અને ખોટું કરશો નહિ.

¹⁶ “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹⁷લોકોથી ચેતના રહેજો, કારણ એ લોકો તમારી ધરપકડ કરશે. તમને ન્યાય માટે લઈ જશે અને સભાસ્થાનોમાં લઈ જઈ તમારા પર કોરડા ફટકારાશે.

¹⁷ But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

¹⁸તમને હાકેમો તથા રાજાઓ સમક્ષ હાજર કરવામાં આવશે. આ બધું મારા લીધે તમને કરવામાં આવશે. તમે ત્યારે મારા વિષે એ બધાને કહેજો.

¹⁸ Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

¹⁹જ્યારે તમને પકડવામાં આવે તો તમારે શું કહેવું અને કેવી રીતે કહેવું તેની ચિંતા કરશો નહિ. યોગ્ય ઉત્તર આપવાના શબ્દો તમને તે વખતે જ આપવામાં આવશે.

¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

²⁰તે સમયે તમે નહિ, પરંતુ તમારા પિતાનો આત્મા તમારા દ્વારા બોલશે.

²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

²¹“ભાઈઓ, ભાઈઓની વિરૂદ્ધ થશે અને તેમને મારી નાખશે. પિતા તેમના બાળકોની વિરૂદ્ધ થશે બાળકો તેમના માતા પિતા વિરૂદ્ધ થશે અને તેઓને મારી નાખવા માટે સોંપી દેશે.

²¹ “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

²²જો તમે મારા શિષ્યો છો, તો લોકો તમારી પજવણી કરશે, પરંતુ જે અંત સુધી ટકશે તેમનો જ ઉદ્ધાર થશે.

²² You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

²³જ્યારે તમારી એક નગરમાં પજવણી કરવામાં આવે તો તમે બીજા નગરમાં જતાં રહેજો. તમને સાચું જ કહું છું કે, માણસનો દીકરો આવે તે પહેલા તમે ઈસ્રાએલના તમામ નગરોમાં ફરી વળશો.

²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.

²⁴“ચેલો તેના ગુરુંથી મોટો નથી કે દાસ એના શેઠ કરતાં ચડિયાતો નથી.

²⁴ “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

²⁵ચેલાઓ પોતાના ગુરૂ જેવા બનવામાં અને દાસે તેના શેઠ જેવા બનવામાં સંતોષ માનવો જોઈએ. જો ઘરના ધણીને જ બાલઝબૂલ (શેતાન) કહેવામાં આવે તો પછી ઘરના બીજા સભ્યોને કેવા નામથી સંબોધશે!

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

²⁶“આથી લોકોથી ન ડરો કારણ કે જે કંઈક છુપાવેલું છે તે જાહેર કરવામાં આવશે. જે કંઈ ગુપ્ત છે તે પ્રગટ થશે.

²⁶ Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.

²⁷હું તમને અંધકારમાં જે કહું છું તે તમે અજવાળામાં જાહેર કરો, અને મેં જે તમને કાનમાં કહ્યું, તે બધું તમે બધાજ લોકોને જાહેરમાં કહો.

²⁷ What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

²⁸“જેઓ તમારા દેહનો નાશ કરી શકે છે પરંતુ તમારા આત્માને મારી શક્તા નથી, તેવા લોકોથી બિલકુલ ન ડરો. ફક્ત પ્રભુથી જ ડરો. કારણ કે તે તમારા આત્માને અને શરીરને નરકમાં ધકેલી શકે છે.

²⁸ Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. or, Hell.

²⁹એક પૈસામાં બે નાનાં પક્ષીઓ વેચાય છે પરંતુ તમારા બાપની ઈચ્છા વગર કોઈ એક પણ પક્ષી ધરતી પર નહિ પડી શકે.

²⁹ “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin An assarion is a small coin worth one tenth of a drachma or a sixteenth of a denarius. An assarion is approximately the wages of one half hour of agricultural labor. ? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,

³⁰દેવને તો ખબર છે કે તમારા માથા ઉપર વાળ કેટલા છે.

³⁰ but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³¹તેથી ડરો નહિ. તમારું મૂલ્ય તો એવાં નાનાં પક્ષીઓ કરતાં અધિક છે.

³¹ Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

³²“જે કોઈ બીજા લોકોની સામે મારામાં વિશ્વાસની કબૂલાત કરશે તો, હું પણ આકાશમાંના બાપની આગળ એ મારો છે તેમ જાહેર કરીશ.

³² Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

³³પરંતુ જ્યારે કોઈ માણસ બીજા લોકોની સામે મારામાં તેના વિશ્વાસને કબૂલ ન કરે, તો તેનો હું નકાર કરીશ. અને હું આકાશમાંના બાપની સમક્ષ તે મારો છે એવું જાહેર કરીશ નહિ.

³³ But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

³⁴“એમ ન માનતા કે હું પૃથ્વી પર શાંતિ લાવવા આવ્યો છું, શાંતિ તો નહિ, પણ હું તલવાર લઈને આવ્યો છું.

³⁴ “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.

³⁵ For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

³⁶ A man’s foes will be those of his own household. Micah 7:6

³⁷જે કોઈ મારા કરતાં વધારે તેના માતાપિતાને પ્રેમ કરે છે અને જે કોઈ મારા કરતાં તેમના દીકરા કે દીકરીને પ્રેમ કરે છે તે મારો શિષ્ય થવાને લાયક નથી.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

³⁸જે માણસ તેને આપવામાં આવેલ વધસ્તંભનો સ્વીકાર કરતો નથી તો તે મારો શિષ્ય થવા માટે યોગ્ય નથી.

³⁸ He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.

³⁹જે માણસ મારા કરતાં તેના જીવનને વધારે પ્રેમ કરે છે તે સાચું જીવન ગુમાવી દેશે. પણ જે મારા માટે જીવન અર્પણ કરી શકશે તેજ સાચું જીવન પ્રાપ્ત કરી શકશે.

³⁹ He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

⁴⁰“જે માણસ તમને સ્વીકારે છે, તે મને સ્વીકારે છે, અને જે વ્યક્તિ મને સ્વીકારે છે તે જેણે મને મોકલ્યો તેને સ્વીકારે છે.

⁴⁰ He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

⁴¹જો કોઈ વ્યક્તિ પ્રબોધકને સ્વીકારે છે કારણ કે તે એક પ્રબોધક છે પછી તે પ્રબોધક જે મેળવે છે તે બદલો તે વ્યક્તિ પ્રાપ્ત કરશે. જે કોઈ વ્યક્તિ સાચા માણસને સ્વીકારે છે, તે એક સારો માણસ છે પછી કે સાચો માણસ પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે તે બદલો તે વ્યક્તિને મળશે.

⁴¹ He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

⁴²હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું કે જો કોઈ વ્યક્તિ શિષ્યના નામે નાનામાંના એકને પણ ઠંડા પાણીનો પ્યાલો પીવા આપે તો તેનું ફળ મળ્યાં વગર રહેશે જ નહિ.”

⁴² Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”
