¹ઈસુ પર્વત પરથી નીચે ઉતર્યો. લોકોનો મોટો સમુદાય તેની પાછળ પાછળ ગયો.

¹When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

²પછી એક કોઢથી પીડાતો માણસ તેની પાસે આવ્યો, પગે પડ્યો અને કહ્યુ, “હે પ્રભુ, તું ઈચ્છે તો મને સાજો કરવાની શક્તિ તારી પાસે છે.”

²Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

³ઈસુએ તે માણસને સ્પર્શ કર્યો અને કહ્યું કે, “હું તને સાજો કરવા ઈચ્છું છું, સાજો થઈ જા!” અને તરત જ તે માણસ કોઢથી સાજો થઈ ગયો.

³Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁴ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “જે કાંઈ બન્યું છે તે વાત કોઈને પણ કરતો નહિ. અહીંથી સીધો જ યાજક પાસે જા અને ત્યાં તારી જાતને બતાવ. મૂસાના આદેશ પ્રમાણે અર્પણ ચઢાવ જેથી લોકો જાણી શકે કે તું સાજો થયો છે.”

⁴Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

⁵ઈસુ કફર-નહૂમ આવ્યો, ઈસુ શહેરમાં પ્રવેશ્યો કે તરત જ એક લશ્કરી અધિકારી, તેની પાસે આવ્યો અને મદદ માટે વિનંતી કરી.

⁵When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,

⁶લશ્કરી અધિકારીએ કહ્યું કે, “હે પ્રભુ, મારો નોકર ખૂબજ બિમાર છે, તે પથારીવશ છે અને પક્ષઘાતી છે.”

⁶and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”

⁷ઈસુએ લશ્કરી અધિકારીને કહ્યું કે, “હું જઈશ અને તેને સાજો કરીશ.”

⁷Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

⁸લશ્કરી અધિકારીએ કહ્યું કે, “હે પ્રભુ, તું મારા ઘરે આવે એવો હું યોગ્ય માણસ નથી. જો તું કેવળ શબ્દ કહે તો મારો નોકર સાજો થઈ જશે.”

⁸The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁹હું મારા અધિકારીઓને આધીન છું. મારા હાથ નીચેના સૈનિકો મારી સત્તાને આધીન છે. એકને હું કહું છું કે ‘જા’ તો તે જાય છે. બીજાને કહું છું કે, ‘આવ’, તો તે આવે છે અને મારા નોકરને કહું છું કે, ‘આ કર’ તે તે તરત જ મારી આજ્ઞા પાળે છે. હું જાણુ છું કે આ કરવાની સત્તા તારી પાસે છે.”

⁹For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

¹⁰ઈસુ આ સાંભળી ખૂબજ નવાઈ પામ્યો અને તેની સાથે આવતા લોકોને કહ્યું કે, “હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું, મેં ઈસ્રાએલમાં પણ કદી કોઈ વ્યક્તિમાં આવો વિશ્વાસ જોયો નથી.

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

¹¹હું તમને કહું છું કે પૂર્વ અને પશ્ચિમમાંથી ઘણા લોકો આવશે અને આકાશના રાજ્યમાં ઈબ્રાહિમ, ઈસહાક અને યાકૂબની સાથે બેસશે.

¹¹ I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

¹²અને જેમના માટે આકાશી રાજ્ય તૈયાર કરવામાં આવેલું છે, તેમને બહારના અંધકારમાં ફેંકી દેવાશે. તેઓ ત્યાં રૂદન કરશે પીડાથી દાંત કચકચાવશે.”

¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹³પછી ઈસુએ લશ્કરી અધિકારીને કહ્યું કે, “ઘરે જા અને તારો નોકર તેં જે રીતે વિશ્વાસ કર્યો છે તે રીતે તે સાજો થઈ જશે.” અને બરાબર તે જ સમયે તેનો નોકર સાજો થઈ ગયો.

¹³Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.

¹⁴જ્યારે ઈસુ પિતરને ઘેર ગયો ત્યારે તેણે તેની સાસુને તાવથી પીડાતી દીઠી.

¹⁴When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

¹⁵ઈસુએ તેના હાથને સ્પર્શ કર્યો અને તેનો તાવ ઉતરી ગયો. તે ઉઠીને ઈસુની સેવા કરવા લાગી.

¹⁵He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. TR reads “them” instead of “him”

¹⁶સાંજ પડી ત્યારે તેઓ ઘણા અશુદ્ધ આત્મા વળગેલા લોકોને ઈસુની પાસે લાવ્યા, ઈસુએ અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓને બહાર કાઢ્યા. તેમ જ બધા જ માંદાઓને પણ સાજા કર્યા.

¹⁶When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;

¹⁷ઈસુએ આ કર્યુ જેથી યશાયાએ કહેલ ભવિષ્યવાણી પૂર્ણ થાય: “તેણે આપણા રોગો લઈ લીધા અને તેણે આપણા મંદવાડ પોતાનામાં સ્વીકાર્યા.” યશાયા 53:4

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” Isaiah 53:4

¹⁸ઈસુએ જોયું કે તેની ચારે બાજુ લોકોની ભીડ જામી છે, તેથી તેણે પોતાના શિષ્યોને સરોવરના સામા કિનારે જવા કહ્યું.

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁹પછી એક શાસ્ત્રી તેની પાસે આવ્યો અને કહ્યંુ કે, “ઉપદેશક, તું જ્યાં જઈશ ત્યાં હું તારી પાછળ આવીશ.”

¹⁹A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

²⁰ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યુ કે, “શિયાળોને રહેવા માટે દરો હોય છે, પંખીઓને રહેવા માટે માળા હોય છે, પણ માણસના દીકરાને માથું ટેકવાની પણ જગા નથી.”

²⁰Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

²¹ઈસુના શિષ્યોમાંના બીજા એકે આવી તેને કહ્યું કે, “હે પ્રભુ પહેલા મને જવા દે અને મારા પિતાને દફનાવવા દે. પછી હું તને અનુસરીશ.”

²¹Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

²²પરંતુ ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું, “મારી પાછળ આવ. ને મુએલાએને પોતાના મૂએલાઓને દાટવા દે.”

²²But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²³ઈસુ એક હોડીમાં જઈને બેઠો, તેના શિષ્યો પણ તેની સાથે ગયા

²³When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.

²⁴એ હોડીએ કિનારો છોડયો કે તરત જ દરિયામાં મોટું તોફાન શરૂ થયું ને ઉછળતાં મોજાથી હોડી ઢંકાઈ જવા લાગી. પરંતુ ઈસુ તો ઊઘતો હતો.

²⁴Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

²⁵શિષ્યો ઈસુની પાસે ગયા અને તેને જગાડ્યો અને કહ્યું કે, “હે પ્રભુ, અમને બચાવ! અમે ડૂબી જઈશું!”

²⁵They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

²⁶ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘તમે શા માટે ભયભીત થાઓ છો? તમને પૂરતો વિશ્વાસ નથી?” પછી ઈસુ ઉભો થયો અને પવન અને મોંજાને ધમકાવ્યા, પછી સમુદ્ર સંપૂર્ણ શાંત થઈ ગયો.

²⁶He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁷આથી લોકો આશ્ચર્યચકિત થઈ ગયા અને બોલ્યા, અરે આ માણસ કેવા પ્રકારનો છે? જેની આજ્ઞાને પવન અને સમુદ્ર પણ માને છે!”

²⁷The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

²⁸સમુદ્રને સામે કિનારે ગદરાનીના દેશમાં ઈસુ આવ્યો ત્યાં તેને અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓ વળગેલા બે માણસો મળ્યા. તેઓ કબરોની વચમાં રહેતા હતાં તે એટલા બધા બિહામણા હતા કે ત્યાં થઈને કોઈ જઈ શક્તું ન હતું.

²⁸When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, NU reads “Gadarenes” two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.

²⁹તેઓ બૂમ પાડવા લાગ્યા, “ઓ દેવના દીકરા, તું અમારી પાસે શું અપેક્ષા રાખે છે? નિશ્ર્ચિત સમય પહેલા અમને શિક્ષા કરવા આવ્યો છે?”

²⁹Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

³⁰ત્યાંથી થોડેક દૂર ભૂંડનું ટોળું ચરતું હતું.

³⁰Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³¹અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓએ વિનંતી કરી કે, “જો તું અમને કાઢી જ મૂકવાનો હોય તો, તું અમને એ ભૂંડોના ટોળામાં જવા દે.”

³¹The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

³²ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું, “જાઓ” અને અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓ ભૂંડોનાં ટોળામાં પેઠા. ભૂંડનું આખું ટોળું ટેકરીની ધાર પરથી સમુદ્રમાં ધસી ગયું અને પાણીમાં ડૂબી મર્યુ.

³²He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

³³ભૂંડો ચરાવનારા ત્યાંથી શહેરમાં નાઠા અને બધીજ બાબતો જેવી કે અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓ વળગેલા માણસે સાથે જે બન્યું હતું તે જણાવ્યું.

³³Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

³⁴આખું નગર ઈસુને મળવા બહાર આવ્યું અને જ્યારે લોકોએ તેને જોયો ત્યારે વિનંતી કરી કે, અમારા સીમોમાંથી તું ચાલ્યો જા.

³⁴Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.
