¹Semua orang Israel terdaftar menurut keluarganya masing-masing. Daftar itu tercatat dalam buku Raja-raja Israel. Sebagai hukuman atas dosa-dosa mereka, rakyat Yehuda diangkut ke pembuangan.

¹So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their transgression.

²Dari antara mereka yang pertama-tama kembali ke tanah milik mereka di kota-kota adalah orang awam, imam-imam, orang Lewi dan pekerja-pekerja Rumah TUHAN.

²Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

³Sebagian dari suku Yehuda, Benyamin, Efraim dan Manasye kembali dan tinggal di Yerusalem.

³And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:

⁴Ada 690 keluarga dari suku Yehuda yang tinggal di Yerusalem, termasuk keturunan anak-anak Yehuda yang bernama Peres, Syela dan Zerah. Keturunan Peres dipimpin oleh Utai. Garis keturunan Utai dari bawah ke atas ialah Utai, Amihud, Omri, Imri dan Bani. Keturunan Syela dipimpin oleh Asaya. Ia adalah kepala keluarga. Keturunan Zerah dipimpin oleh Yeuel.

⁴Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.

⁶And of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.

⁷Orang-orang suku Benyamin yang tinggal di Yerusalem ada 956 keluarga. Kepala-kepala keluarga mereka ialah: Salu anak Mesulam, cucu Hodawya, buyut Hasenua; Yibnia anak Yeroham; Ela anak Uzi, cucu Mikhri; Mesulam anak Sefaca, cucu Rehuel, buyut Yibnia.

⁷And of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah,

⁸and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

⁹(9:7)

⁹and their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were heads of fathers' [houses] by their fathers' houses.

¹⁰Imam-imam berikut ini tinggal di Yerusalem: Yedaya, Yoyarib dan Yakhin, Azarya anak Hilkia, leluhurnya adalah Mesulam, Zadok, Merayot dan Ahitub. (Azarya adalah kepala pegawai di Rumah TUHAN.) Adaya anak Yeroham; leluhurnya adalah Pasyhur dan Malkia. Masai anak Adiel; leluhurnya adalah Yahzera, Mesulam, Mesilemit, Imer.

¹⁰And of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, Jachin,

¹¹(9:10)

¹¹and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;

¹²and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

¹³Para imam yang menjadi kepala keluarga, semuanya ada 1.760 orang. Mereka mahir melakukan segala macam pekerjaan di Rumah TUHAN.

¹³and their brethren, heads of their fathers' houses, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

¹⁴Orang-orang Lewi berikut ini tinggal di Yerusalem: Semaya anak Hasub; leluhurnya adalah Azrikam dan Hasabya dari kaum Merari. Bakbakar, Heres dan Galal. Matanya anak Mikha; leluhurnya adalah Zikhri dan Asaf. Obaja anak Semaya; leluhurnya adalah Galal dan Yedutun. Berekhya anak Asa, cucu Elkana, ia tinggal di daerah kota Netofa.

¹⁴And of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

¹⁵and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph,

¹⁶(9:14)

¹⁶and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

¹⁷Pengawal-pengawal Rumah TUHAN yang tinggal di Yerusalem bersama keluarga mereka adalah: Akub, Talmon, Ahiman, dan Salum kepala pengawal.

¹⁷And the porters: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren (Shallum was the chief),

¹⁸Sampai hari ini orang-orang dari kaum mereka ditugaskan menjaga Pintu Gerbang Raja di sebelah timur. Dahulu orang-orang dari kaum mereka ditugaskan menjaga pintu-pintu gerbang menuju ke perkemahan orang Lewi.

¹⁸who hitherto [waited] in the king's gate eastward: they were the porters for the camp of the children of Levi.

¹⁹Yang ditugaskan menjaga pintu masuk ke Kemah TUHAN adalah Salum bersama orang-orang yang sekaum dengan dia, yaitu kaum Korah. (Salum adalah anak Kore cucu Ebyasaf.) Dahulu leluhur mereka pun melakukan tugas itu ketika mereka melayani di perkemahan TUHAN.

¹⁹And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of his father's house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent: and their fathers had been over the camp of Jehovah, keepers of the entry.

²⁰Pinehas anak Eleazar--semoga TUHAN melindungi dia! --pernah mengepalai mereka.

²⁰And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, [and] Jehovah was with him.

²¹Zakharia anak Meselemya juga adalah pengawal pintu gerbang Kemah TUHAN.

²¹Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tent of meeting.

²²Semua yang dipilih untuk menjaga pintu-pintu gerbang ada 212 orang. Mereka terdaftar menurut desa-desa tempat tinggal mereka. Leluhur mereka diberi jabatan-jabatan itu oleh Raja Daud dan Nabi Samuel.

²²All these that were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their office of trust.

²³Sejak itu mereka dan keturunan mereka tetap menjadi penjaga pintu gerbang Rumah TUHAN.

²³So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Jehovah, even the house of the tent, by wards.

²⁴Ada 4 pintu: satu di utara, satu di selatan, satu di timur dan satu di barat. Di setiap pintu itu ditempatkan seorang Lewi yang menjadi kepala penjaga.

²⁴On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

²⁵Sanak saudara mereka yang tinggal di desa-desa, membantu mereka secara bergilir--setiap kali satu minggu lamanya.

²⁵And their brethren, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them:

²⁶Tetapi keempat kepala penjaga itu bertugas secara tetap. Mereka bertanggung jawab atas ruangan-ruangan di Rumah TUHAN dan barang-barang yang disimpan di situ.

²⁶for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.

²⁷Mereka tinggal di dekat Rumah TUHAN, sebab mereka harus menjaga rumah itu dan membuka pintu-pintu gerbangnya setiap pagi.

²⁷And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge [thereof] was upon them; and to them pertained the opening thereof morning by morning.

²⁸Sebagian orang Lewi yang lain bertanggung jawab atas perkakas-perkakas untuk ibadat. Merekalah yang menghitungnya pada waktu dikeluarkan dan pada waktu dikembalikan.

²⁸And certain of them had charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out.

²⁹Sebagian lagi bertanggung jawab atas perabot-perabot ibadat dan atas tepung, anggur, minyak zaitun, kemenyan, serta rempah-rempah.

²⁹Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

³⁰Tetapi yang bertanggung jawab mencampur rempah-rempah itu adalah imam-imam.

³⁰And some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices.

³¹Yang bertanggung jawab membuat persembahan yang dipanggang adalah seorang Lewi bernama Matica, anak sulung Salum dari kaum Korah.

³¹And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the first-born of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.

³²Orang-orang dari kaum Kehat bertanggung jawab untuk menyiapkan roti sajian bagi TUHAN setiap hari Sabat.

³²And some of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the showbread, to prepare it every sabbath.

³³Sebagian orang Lewi yang lain bertugas menjadi penyanyi di Rumah TUHAN. Kepala-kepala keluarga mereka tinggal di beberapa gedung di Rumah TUHAN. Mereka tidak diberi tugas lain, karena mereka dinas siang dan malam.

³³And these are the singers, heads of fathers' [houses] of the Levites, [who dwelt] in the chambers [and were] free [from other service]; for they were employed in their work day and night.

³⁴Orang-orang yang disebut di atas adalah kepala-kepala keluarga Lewi menurut garis keturunan mereka. Mereka adalah pemimpin-pemimpin yang tinggal di Yerusalem.

³⁴These were heads of fathers' [houses] of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these dwelt at Jerusalem.

³⁵Yeiel mendirikan kota Gibeon, lalu tinggal di situ. Istrinya bernama Maakha,

³⁵And in Gibeon there dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife's name was Maacah:

³⁶dan anaknya yang laki-laki, yang sulung bernama Abdon; yang lainnya bernama Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

³⁶and his first-born son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,

³⁷Gedor, Ahyo, Zakharia dan Miklot,

³⁷and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.

³⁸ayah Simea. Keturunan mereka tinggal di Yerusalem bersama keluarga-keluarga lain yang sekaum dengan mereka.

³⁸And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against their brethren.

³⁹Ayah Raja Saul bernama Kish dan kakeknya bernama Ner. Saul mempunyai 4 anak laki-laki: Yonatan, Malkisua, Abinadab, dan Esybaal.

³⁹And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

⁴⁰Yonatan mempunyai anak laki-laki bernama Meribaal, ayah Mikha.

⁴⁰And the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal begat Micah.

⁴¹Mikha mempunyai 4 anak laki-laki: Piton, Melekh, Tahrea dan Ahas.

⁴¹And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, [and Ahaz].

⁴²Anak Ahas bernama Yoada yang mempunyai 3 anak laki-laki: Alemet, Asmawet dan Zimri. Garis keturunan Zimri ialah Moza,

⁴²And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;

⁴³Bina, Rafa, Elasa dan Azel.

⁴³and Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

⁴⁴Azel mempunyai 6 anak laki-laki: Azrikam, Bokhru, Ismael, Searya, Obaja dan Hanan.

⁴⁴And Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.
