¹Manasye berumur 12 tahun ketika ia menjadi raja Yehuda, dan ia memerintah di Yerusalem 55 tahun lamanya. Ibunya bernama Hefzibah.

¹Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned five and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

²Manasye berdosa kepada TUHAN, karena mengikuti kebiasaan-kebiasaan jahat bangsa-bangsa yang diusir TUHAN dari Kanaan pada waktu orang Israel memasuki negeri itu.

²And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.

³Tempat-tempat penyembahan dewa yang telah dimusnahkan Hizkia ayahnya dibangunnya kembali. Ia membangun mezbah-mezbah untuk beribadat kepada Baal, dan membuat patung Dewi Asyera, seperti yang dilakukan oleh Ahab raja Israel. Manasye juga menyembah bintang-bintang.

³For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

⁴TUHAN telah berkata bahwa Yerusalem adalah tempat kehadiran-Nya dan tempat ibadat kepada-Nya, tetapi di sana di Rumah TUHAN, Manasye telah mendirikan mezbah-mezbah untuk dewa-dewa.

⁴And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

⁵Di kedua halaman Rumah TUHAN itu ia mendirikan mezbah-mezbah untuk penyembahan kepada bintang-bintang.

⁵And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

⁶Anaknya dipersembahkannya sebagai kurban bakaran. Manasye juga melakukan praktek-praktek kedukunan, penujuman, ilmu gaib, dan meminta petunjuk kepada roh-roh. Ia sangat berdosa kepada TUHAN sehingga membangkitkan kemarahan-Nya.

⁶And he made his son to pass through the fire, and practised augury, and used enchantments, and dealt with them that had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

⁷Lambang Dewi Asyera ditaruhnya di dalam Rumah TUHAN, padahal mengenai tempat itu TUHAN telah berkata kepada Daud dan Salomo putranya, "Rumah-Ku dan kota Yerusalem ini, yang telah Kupilih dari antara wilayah kedua belas suku Israel, adalah tempat yang Kutentukan sebagai tempat ibadat kepada-Ku.

⁷And he set the graven image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Jehovah said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever;

⁸Dan kalau umat Israel mentaati semua perintah-Ku dan menuruti hukum-hukum yang diberikan Musa hamba-Ku kepada mereka, maka Aku tidak akan membiarkan mereka diusir dari negeri yang telah Kuberikan kepada leluhur mereka."

⁸neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

⁹Tetapi orang Yehuda tidak taat kepada TUHAN, dan Manasye malah menyebabkan mereka melakukan dosa-dosa yang lebih jahat dari dosa yang dilakukan oleh bangsa-bangsa yang diusir TUHAN dari Kanaan pada waktu umat Israel memasuki negeri itu.

⁹But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than did the nations whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel.

¹⁰Sebab itu melalui para nabi, hamba-hamba TUHAN, TUHAN berkata,

¹⁰And Jehovah spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

¹¹"Raja Manasye jahat sekali. Perbuatannya jauh lebih jahat dari perbuatan orang Kanaan. Dengan berhala-berhala yang dibuatnya, ia menyebabkan orang Yehuda berdosa.

¹¹Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, that were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols;

¹²Karena itu, Aku, TUHAN Allah yang disembah oleh umat Israel, akan mendatangkan bencana yang sangat besar ke atas Yerusalem dan Yehuda sehingga setiap orang yang mendengar tentang hal itu akan terkejut.

¹²therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Behold, I bring such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

¹³Yerusalem akan Kuhukum seperti Aku menghukum Samaria dan Ahab raja Israel serta keturunannya. Yerusalem akan Kusapu bersih seperti piring yang telah dicuci dan dibalikkan.

¹³And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

¹⁴Penduduknya yang masih tertinggal akan Kubiarkan menjadi mangsa bagi musuh-musuhnya, yang akan melucuti mereka dan menjarahi negeri mereka.

¹⁴And I will cast off the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

¹⁵Semuanya itu akan Kulakukan terhadap umat-Ku karena mereka berdosa kepada-Ku dan membangkitkan kemarahan-Ku sejak leluhur mereka keluar dari Mesir sampai pada hari ini."

¹⁵because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

¹⁶Selain membuat orang Yehuda berdosa kepada TUHAN dengan menyembah berhala, Manasye juga membunuh sangat banyak orang yang tak bersalah sehingga darah mengalir di mana-mana di Yerusalem.

¹⁶Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

¹⁷Kisah lainnya mengenai Raja Manasye dan mengenai dosa-dosa yang dilakukannya, dicatat dalam buku Sejarah Raja-raja Yehuda.

¹⁷Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

¹⁸Manasye meninggal dan dikuburkan di taman istana, yaitu taman Uza. Amon putranya menjadi raja menggantikan dia.

¹⁸And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

¹⁹Amon berumur 22 tahun ketika ia menjadi raja Yehuda dan ia memerintah di Yerusalem dua tahun lamanya. Ibunya bernama Mesulemet anak Harus, orang Yotba.

¹⁹Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

²⁰Seperti ayahnya, ia pun berdosa kepada TUHAN.

²⁰And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father.

²¹Ia meniru perbuatan-perbuatan ayahnya, dan menyembah berhala-berhala yang disembah ayahnya.

²¹And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

²²Ia tidak hidup menurut kemauan TUHAN, bahkan meninggalkan TUHAN, Allah yang disembah oleh leluhurnya.

²²and he forsook Jehovah, the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of Jehovah.

²³Pegawai-pegawai Raja Amon berkomplot melawan dia dan membunuhnya di istana.

²³And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

²⁴Tetapi rakyat Yehuda membunuh para pembunuh Raja Amon itu, lalu mengangkat Yosia anaknya, menjadi raja.

²⁴But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

²⁵Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

²⁶Amon dikuburkan di kuburan di taman Uza. Yosia anaknya menjadi raja menggantikan dia.

²⁶And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.
