¹Nyanyian ziarah. Israel, katakanlah bagaimana engkau dianiaya musuh sejak masa mudamu.

¹A Song of Ascents. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say,

²"Aku dianiaya musuh sejak masa mudaku, tetapi mereka tak dapat mengalahkan aku;

²Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up: Yet they have not prevailed against me.

³mereka membuat luka-luka dalam di punggungku, seperti pembajak membuat alur-alur panjang di ladang.

³The plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows.

⁴Tetapi TUHAN yang adil telah membebaskan aku dari perbudakan."

⁴Jehovah is righteous: He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

⁵Biarlah setiap orang yang membenci Sion dikalahkan dan dipukul mundur.

⁵Let them be put to shame and turned backward, All they that hate Zion.

⁶Biarlah mereka seperti rumput di atas atap yang menjadi kering sebelum dapat tumbuh;

⁶Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;

⁷tak ada yang menyabitnya, atau mengikatnya dalam berkas.

⁷Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

⁸Orang-orang yang lewat tak akan berkata, "Semoga engkau diberkati TUHAN, kami memberkati engkau dalam nama TUHAN."

⁸Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah.
