1Untuk pemimpin kor. Nyanyian pengajaran Daud, (52-2) ketika Doeg, orang Edom, datang memberitahukan kepada Saul bahwa Daud sudah sampai di rumah Abimelekh. (52-3) Hai orang kuat, mengapa engkau menyombongkan kejahatanmu terhadap orang yang dikasihi Allah?
1For the Chief Musician. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Abimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God [endureth] continually.
2(52-4) Sepanjang hari engkau menipu dan merencanakan yang jahat; lidahmu seperti pisau cukur yang tajam.
2Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3(52-5) Engkau lebih mencintai kejahatan daripada kebaikan, lebih suka berbohong daripada berkata benar.
3Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah
4(52-6) Dengan kata-katamu engkau menipu dan menyakiti hati orang!
4Thou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.
5(52-7) Tetapi engkau akan dibinasakan Allah untuk selamanya; engkau ditangkap dan diseret dari rumahmu, dan dilenyapkan dari dunia orang hidup.
5God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah
6(52-8) Melihat itu, orang saleh akan ketakutan, lalu menertawakan engkau dan berkata,
6The righteous also shall see [it], and fear, And shall laugh at him, [saying],
7(52-9) "Itulah orangnya yang tidak berlindung pada Allah, tetapi mengharapkan kekayaannya yang berlimpah dan mencari keamanan pada barang rampasannya."
7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8(52-10) Tetapi aku seperti pohon zaitun yang hijau di dalam Rumah Allah. Aku percaya bahwa Allah tetap mengasihi untuk selama-lamanya.
8But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.
9(52-11) Aku selalu mau bersyukur kepada-Mu di depan umat-Mu kuwartakan kebaikan-Mu.
9I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.
