1Inilah pembagian tugas untuk orang-orang Lewi pengawal Rumah TUHAN. Dari kaum Korah ditunjuk Meselemya anak Kore dari keluarga Ebyasaf.

2Ia mempunyai 7 anak lelaki yang terdaftar menurut urutan umur: Zakharia, Yediael, Zebaja, Yatniel,
2Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
3Elam, Yohanan, Elyoenai.
3Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.
4Berikut ditunjuk Obed-Edom. Ia diberkati Allah dengan 8 anak laki-laki yang terdaftar menurut urutan umur: Semaya, Yozabad, Yoah, Sakhar, Netaneel,
4Obed-Edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth,
5Amiel, Isakhar dan Peuletai.
5Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth; for God blessed him.
6Semaya anak sulung Obed-Edom mempunyai 6 anak laki-laki: Otni, Refael, Obed, Elzabad, Elihu dan Semakhya; semuanya orang-orang penting dalam kaum mereka sebab mereka gagah perkasa, terutama Elihu dan Semakhya.
6Also to Shemaiah his son were sons born, who ruled over the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor.

7The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brothers were valiant men, Elihu, and Semachiah.
8Untuk pekerjaan pengawalan itu kaum Obed-Edom memberikan 62 orang laki-laki yang perkasa.
8All these were of the sons of Obed-Edom: they and their sons and their brothers, able men in strength for the service; sixty-two of Obed-Edom.
9Kaum Meselemya memberikan 18 orang perkasa.
9Meshelemiah had sons and brothers, valiant men, eighteen.
10Dari kaum Merari ditunjuk Hosa. Ia mempunyai empat anak laki-laki: Simri (ia bukan anak sulung, tetapi diangkat menjadi pemimpin oleh ayahnya),
10Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief),
11Hilkia, Tebalya dan Zakharia. Seluruhnya ada 13 anggota keluarga Hosa yang menjadi pengawal Rumah TUHAN.
11Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen.
12Para pengawal Rumah TUHAN dibagi dalam kelompok-kelompok menurut kaumnya. Mereka diberikan juga tugas-tugas di dalam Rumah TUHAN seperti orang Lewi lainnya.
12Of these were the divisions of the doorkeepers, even of the chief men, having offices like their brothers, to minister in the house of Yahweh.
13Setiap kaum baik kaum yang besar maupun kaum yang kecil, menarik undi untuk mengetahui di pintu gerbang mana mereka harus bertugas.
13They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.
14Selemya mendapat pintu gerbang sebelah timur. Zakharia anaknya, yang selalu memberi nasihat yang baik, mendapat pintu gerbang sebelah utara.
14The lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.
15Obed-Edom mendapat pintu gerbang sebelah selatan dan anak-anaknya mendapat tugas menjaga gudang-gudang perlengkapan.
15To Obed-Edom southward; and to his sons the storehouse.
16Supim dan Hosa mendapat pintu gerbang sebelah barat dan pintu gerbang Syalekhet yang terdapat pada jalan yang menanjak. Tugas pengawalan diatur sedemikian rupa sehingga selalu ada yang mengawal di pintu gerbang.
16To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goes up, watch against watch.
17Setiap hari di sebelah timur ada 6 pengawal, di sebelah utara 4 dan di sebelah selatan 4. Gudang-gudang perlengkapan pun dikawal oleh 4 orang: 2 untuk setiap gudang.
17Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the storehouse two and two.
18Pada pavilyun sebelah barat ditempatkan 4 pengawal di jalanan dan 2 pengawal di pavilyun itu sendiri.
18For Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.
19Demikianlah pembagian tugas pengawalan kepada kaum Korah dan kaum Merari.
19These were the divisions of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korahites, and of the sons of Merari.
20Orang-orang lainnya dalam suku Lewi diserahi tanggung jawab atas harta benda Rumah TUHAN dan atas gudang tempat menyimpan pemberian-pemberi untuk Allah.
20Of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of God’s house, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.
21Ladan adalah seorang anak laki-laki Gerson; ia menurunkan beberapa kelompok kaum, termasuk kaum Yehiel anaknya.
21The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ households belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.
22Anak-anak Yehiel, yaitu Zetam dan Yoel, diberi tanggung jawab atas gudang-gudang dan keuangan Rumah TUHAN.
22The sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the house of Yahweh.
23Keturunan Amram, Yizhar, Hebron dan Uziel pun mendapat bagian tugas.
23Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites:
24Sebuel dari kaum Gersom, anak Musa, adalah pengawas harta benda Rumah TUHAN.
24and Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasures.
25Ia mempunyai hubungan keluarga dengan Selomit melalui Eliezer saudara Gersom. Garis keturunan Eliezer sampai kepada Selomit adalah sebagai berikut: Eliezer, Rehabya, Yesaya, Yoram, Zikhri, Selomit.
25His brothers: of Eliezer, Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.
26Selomit dan sanak saudaranya bertanggung jawab atas semua pemberian yang dipersembahkan oleh Raja Daud, oleh kepala-kepala keluarga, pemimpin-pemimpin kaum, dan para perwira tinggi.
26This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the heads of the fathers’ households, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated.
27Pemberian-pemberian itu adalah sebagian dari barang rampasan yang mereka peroleh dalam pertempuran dan yang mereka persembahkan untuk dipakai khusus dalam Rumah TUHAN.
27They dedicated some of the spoil won in battles to repair the house of Yahweh.
28Singkatnya, Selomit dan keluarganya bertanggung jawab atas segala sesuatu yang telah diserahkan untuk dipakai khusus dalam Rumah TUHAN, termasuk persembahan-persembahan yang melalui Nabi Samuel telah diserahkan oleh Raja Saul, oleh Abner anak Ner, dan oleh Yoab anak Zeruya.
28All that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth, and of his brothers.
29Keturunan Yizhar, yaitu Kenanya serta anak-anaknya, diserahi tugas administrasi negara dan tugas-tugas peradilan di Israel.
29Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.
30Segala urusan keagamaan dan urusan pemerintahan di Israel bagian barat Sungai Yordan diserahkan kepada Hasabya, dan kepada 1.700 sanak saudaranya: semuanya orang-orang terkemuka keturunan Hebron.
30Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, men of valor, one thousand seven hundred, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward, for all the business of Yahweh, and for the service of the king.
31Pemimpin keturunan Hebron adalah Yeria. Pada tahun keempat puluh pemerintahan Raja Daud diadakan penyelidikan mengenai keturunan Hebron. Dalam penyelidikan itu ternyata di antara mereka ada prajurit-prajurit perkasa yang tinggal di Yazer dalam wilayah Gilead.
31Of the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even of the Hebronites, according to their generations by fathers’ households. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.
32Segala urusan keagamaan dan pemerintahan di Israel sebelah timur Sungai Yordan--yaitu wilayah suku Ruben, Gad dan sebagian suku Manasye--diserahkan kepada 2.700 kepala keluarga Yeria, semuanya orang terkemuka yang dipilih oleh Raja Daud.
32His brothers, men of valor, were two thousand seven hundred, heads of fathers’ households, whom king David made overseers over the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for every matter pertaining to God, and for the affairs of the king.
