¹Raja Daud sudah menentukan bahwa Rumah TUHAN harus dibangun di Yerusalem di Gunung Moria di tempat pengirikan gandum milik Arauna orang Yebus. Pembangunan Rumah TUHAN itu dimulai oleh Raja Salomo

²pada bulan kedua tahun keempat pemerintahannya.

³Panjang Rumah itu 27 meter dan lebarnya 9 meter.

³Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of God’s house. The length by cubits after the first measure was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

⁴Panjang ruang depan sama dengan lebar Rumah itu, yaitu 9 meter. Tingginya 54 meter. Bagian dalam ruangan itu dilapisi dengan emas murni.

⁴The porch that was in front, its length, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height one hundred twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

⁵Ruangan utama dipapani dengan kayu cemara yang terbaik dan dilapisi dengan emas tua. Pada lapisan emas itu ada ukiran gambar pohon palem dan gambar rantai.

⁵The greater house he made a ceiling with fir wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and ornamented it with palm trees and chains.

⁶Raja menghias Rumah itu dengan batu permata yang bagus-bagus dan dengan emas yang didatangkan dari negeri Parwaim.

⁶He garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

⁷Ia memakai emas itu juga untuk melapisi tembok-tembok Rumah TUHAN itu, balok-baloknya, ambang-ambang pintu dan pintu-pintunya. Tembok-temboknya diukir dengan gambar kerub.

⁷He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold; and engraved cherubim on the walls.

⁸Ruang dalam yang dinamakan Ruang Mahasuci panjangnya 9 meter dan lebarnya 9 meter, sama dengan lebar Rumah TUHAN itu. Dua puluh ton emas dipakai untuk melapisi tembok-tembok Ruang Mahasuci itu

⁸He made the most holy house: its length, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

⁹dan 570 gram emas untuk membuat paku. Tembok ruangan-ruangan tingkat atas pun dilapisi dengan emas.

⁹The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid the upper rooms with gold.

¹⁰Raja juga menyuruh para pekerjanya itu membuat dua patung kerub dari logam. Patung-patung itu dilapisinya dengan emas dan dipasang berdampingan di Ruang Mahasuci menghadap pintu. Setiap kerub itu mempunyai dua sayap, masing-masing panjangnya 2,2 meter. Sayap-sayap itu mengembang sedemikian rupa sehingga ujung yang satu saling bersentuhan di tengah ruangan dan ujung yang lain mencapai tembok di kiri kanan. Jadi, sayap-sayap itu terbentang sepanjang 9 meter yaitu selebar ruangan itu.

¹⁴Untuk Ruang Mahasuci itu dibuat pula gorden dari kain lenan dan kain lain yang berwarna biru, ungu dan merah. Gorden itu dihias dengan gambar-gambar kerub.

¹⁴He made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and ornamented it with cherubim.

¹⁵Raja membuat dua tiang yang masing-masing tingginya 15,5 meter, lalu menempatkannya di depan Rumah TUHAN. Setiap tiang itu mempunyai kepala tiang setinggi 2,2 meter.

¹⁵Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

¹⁶Bagian atas tiang-tiang itu diperindah dengan hiasan dari perunggu, berupa anyaman rantai dengan 100 buah delima.

¹⁶He made chains in the oracle, and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

¹⁷Tiang-tiang itu didirikan di samping kiri dan kanan pintu masuk Rumah TUHAN; yang di sebelah selatan dinamakan Yakhin, dan yang di sebelah utara dinamakan Boas.

¹⁷He set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
