¹Pada waktu itu Nabi Elisa memanggil salah seorang dari antara para nabi yang dididiknya dan berkata, "Bersiap-siaplah untuk pergi ke Ramot di Gilead, dan bawalah botol yang berisi minyak zaitun ini.

¹Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

²Sesampainya engkau di sana carilah Yehu anak Yosafat dan cucu Nimsi. Ajaklah dia sendirian ke sebuah kamar,

²When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.

³dan tuanglah minyak ini ke atas kepalanya, lalu katakan, 'TUHAN berkata bahwa Ia mengangkat engkau menjadi raja Israel.' Setelah melakukan hal itu, tinggalkanlah tempat itu secepat mungkin."

³Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

⁴Nabi yang muda itu berangkat ke Ramot,

⁴So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.

⁵lalu mendapati Yehu dan para panglima lainnya sedang bermusyawarah di sana. Nabi itu berkata, "Tuan, saya membawa berita untuk Tuan." Yehu menjawab, "Untuk siapa?" "Untuk Tuan sendiri," balas nabi itu.

⁵When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

⁶Kemudian mereka berdua masuk ke dalam rumah, dan nabi muda itu menuang minyak zaitun itu ke atas kepala Yehu lalu berkata, "TUHAN Allah Israel berkata, 'Aku melantik engkau menjadi raja atas umat-Ku Israel.

⁶He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

⁷Engkau akan membinasakan keluarga tuanmu Ahab. Dengan demikian Aku menghukum Izebel yang telah membunuh nabi-nabi-Ku dan hamba-hamba-Ku yang lain.

⁷You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

⁸Seluruh keluarga dan anak cucu Ahab harus mati. Setiap orang laki-laki baik tua maupun muda akan Kubinasakan.

⁸For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

⁹Keluarganya akan Kuperlakukan seperti Kuperlakukan keluarga Yerobeam dan keluarga Baesa, raja-raja Israel.

⁹I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

¹⁰Izebel tidak akan dikuburkan. Mayatnya akan dimakan anjing di daerah Yizreel.'" Setelah mengucapkan semuanya itu, nabi muda itu keluar lalu lari.

¹⁰The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.

¹¹Yehu kembali kepada teman-temannya, lalu mereka bertanya, "Ada kabar apa? Orang gila itu mau apa dengan engkau?" "Ah, kalian sudah tahu," jawab Yehu.

¹¹Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”

¹²"Tidak, kami tidak tahu!" jawab mereka. "Ayolah beritahukan!" Jawab Yehu, "Ia menyampaikan pesan TUHAN bahwa aku diangkat TUHAN menjadi raja Israel."

¹²They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

¹³Segera teman-teman Yehu membuka jubah mereka dan membentangkannya di tangga di depan Yehu. Lalu mereka meniup trompet dan berteriak, "Yehu raja!"

¹³Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

¹⁴Demikianlah Yehu bersekongkol melawan Raja Yoram yang pada waktu itu berada di Yizreel. Yoram ke sana untuk mendapat perawatan atas luka-lukanya yang diperolehnya di dalam pertempuran di Ramot melawan Hazael raja Siria. Yehu berkata kepada rekan-rekannya para panglima, "Jika kalian setuju saya menjadi raja, jagalah supaya jangan ada seorang pun yang keluar dari Ramot untuk memberitahukan kepada orang-orang di Yizreel."

¹⁴So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

¹⁵(9:14)

¹⁵but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”

¹⁶Setelah itu ia menaiki kereta perangnya lalu berangkat ke Yizreel. Pada waktu itu Yoram belum sembuh, dan Ahazia raja Yehuda ada di sana mengunjungi dia.

¹⁶So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

¹⁷Ketika pengawal menara kota Yizreel melihat Yehu dan orang-orangnya datang, ia berseru, "Ada serombongan orang menuju ke sini!" Yoram menjawab, "Suruh seorang prajurit berkuda pergi menyelidiki apakah mereka itu kawan atau lawan."

¹⁷Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

¹⁸So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

¹⁹lalu dikirim seorang prajurit yang lain. Prajurit ini pun bertanya begitu juga kepada Yehu, dan sekali lagi Yehu menjawab, "Itu bukan urusanmu! Ayo bergabunglah dengan aku!"

¹⁹Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”

²⁰Pengawal menara melaporkan lagi bahwa utusan itu telah sampai pada rombongan itu tetapi tidak kembali. Lalu ia menambahkan, "Mungkin pemimpin rombongan itu Yehu, sebab ia mengendarai kereta perangnya seperti orang gila."

²⁰The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”

²¹"Siapkan keretaku," perintah Raja Yoram. Kereta disiapkan, lalu Yoram dan Raja Ahazia berangkat menemui Yehu, masing-masing dalam keretanya sendiri. Mereka bertemu dengan Yehu di ladang bekas milik Nabot.

²¹Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

²²"Apakah kau datang sebagai kawan?" tanya Yoram kepada Yehu. Yehu menjawab, "Mana mungkin sebagai kawan, kalau di sini masih banyak dukun, dan masih ada penyembahan berhala yang dimulai oleh Izebel ibumu itu?"

²²It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

²³"Ini pengkhianatan, Ahazia!" teriak Yoram sambil membelokkan keretanya lalu melarikan diri.

²³Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”

²⁴Yehu menarik busurnya dengan sekuat tenaga dan memanah Yoram pada punggungnya menembus ke jantung. Yoram rebah, dan tewas di dalam keretanya.

²⁴Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

²⁵Lalu kata Yehu kepada Bidkar ajudannya, "Apakah kau masih ingat, ketika kita mengendarai kuda mengikuti Ahab, ayah Yoram? Pada waktu itu TUHAN berkata kepada Ahab, 'Aku tahu siapa yang membunuh Nabot dan anak-anaknya kemarin, dan aku berjanji akan menghukum engkau di kebun ini juga.'" "Sebab itu," kata Yehu selanjutnya kepada ajudannya itu, "lemparkan mayat Yoram itu ke kebun Nabot, supaya terlaksana hukuman Allah atas dia."

²⁵Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:

²⁶(9:25)

²⁶‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”

²⁷Ahazia melihat apa yang telah terjadi, maka ia melarikan keretanya menuju ke kota Bet-Hagan. Yehu mengejar dia dan berteriak kepada anak buahnya, "Bunuh dia juga!" Mereka memanah dia dan melukainya di jalan yang menuju ke Gur, dekat kota Yibleam. Tetapi ia berhasil melarikan diri sampai ke Megido, dan di situ ia mati.

²⁷But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.

²⁸Pegawai-pegawainya mengambil jenazahnya dan membawanya dengan kereta kembali ke Yerusalem, lalu menguburkannya dalam pekuburan raja-raja di Kota Daud.

²⁸His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.

²⁹Ahazia menjadi raja Yehuda ketika Raja Yoram anak Ahab telah memerintah Israel sebelas tahun.

²⁹In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

³⁰Tibalah Yehu di Yizreel. Setelah Izebel mendengar tentang apa yang terjadi, ia menata rambutnya dan memakai celak, lalu menengok ke bawah dari jendela istana.

³⁰When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.

³¹Ketika Yehu masuk melalui pintu gerbang, Izebel berseru, "Hai Zimri, pembunuh! Mau apa kau ke sini?"

³¹As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

³²Yehu menengadah ke arah jendela, dan berkata, "Siapa memihak pada saya?" Mendengar itu, dua tiga orang pegawai istana menengok ke bawah.

³²He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

³³Yehu berkata kepada mereka, "Lemparkan dia ke bawah!" Maka mereka lemparkan Izebel ke bawah lalu ia digilas kereta sehingga darahnya mencurat ke tembok dan ke kuda-kuda kereta itu.

³³He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.

³⁴Lalu Yehu masuk ke dalam istana dan makan. Kemudian ia berkata, "Perempuan itu terkutuk. Meskipun demikian, kuburkanlah juga mayatnya sebab ia putri raja."

³⁴When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”

³⁵Tetapi ketika orang-orang pergi mengambil mayatnya untuk menguburkannya, mereka hanya menemukan tengkoraknya, dan tulang-tulang lengan serta kakinya.

³⁵They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

³⁶Setelah hal itu dilaporkan kepada Yehu, berkatalah ia, "Ini telah diramalkan oleh TUHAN, ketika Ia berkata begini melalui Elia hamba-Nya: 'Mayat Izebel akan dimakan anjing di daerah Yizreel,

³⁶Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

³⁷dan sisa-sisa mayatnya itu akan berserakan seperti kotoran binatang sehingga tak seorang pun dapat mengenali mayat siapa itu.'"

³⁷and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
