¹Spádómur um Egyptaland. Sjá, Drottinn ekur á léttfæru skýi og kemur til Egyptalands. Þá skjálfa goð Egyptalands fyrir honum og hjörtu Egypta bráðna í brjóstum þeirra.

¹The burden of Egypt: “Behold, Yahweh rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

²Ég æsi Egypta í gegn Egyptum, svo að bróðir skal berjast við bróður, vinur við vin, borg við borg og ríki við ríki.

²⁴In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth;

²⁵Drottinn allsherjar blessar þá og segir: Blessuð sé þjóð mín Egyptar, verkið handa minna Assýría og arfleifð mín Ísrael!

²⁵because Yahweh of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
