1国の民はヨシヤの子エホアハズを立て、エルサレムでその父に代って王とならせた。
1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s place in Jerusalem.
2エホアハズは王となった時二十三歳で、エルサレムで三月の間、世を治めたが、
2Joahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3エジプトの王はエルサレムで彼を廃し、かつ銀百タラント、金一タラントの罰金を国に課した。
3The king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem, and fined the land one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4そしてエジプト王は彼の兄弟エリアキムをユダとエルサレムの王とし、その名をエホヤキムと改め、その兄弟エホアハズを捕えてエジプトへ引いて行った。
4The king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. Neco took Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5エホヤキムは王となった時二十五歳で、十一年の間エルサレムで世を治めた。彼はその神、主の前に悪を行った。
5Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh his God.
6時に、バビロンの王ネブカデネザルが彼の所に攻め上り、彼をバビロンに引いて行こうとして、かせにつないだ。
6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7ネブカデネザルはまた主の宮の器物をバビロンに運んで行って、バビロンにあるその宮殿にそれをおさめた。
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of Yahweh to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8エホヤキムのその他の行為、その行った憎むべき事および彼がひそかに行った事などは、イスラエルとユダの列王の書にしるされている。その子エホヤキンが彼に代って王となった。
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
9エホヤキンは王となった時八歳で、エルサレムで三月と十日の間、世を治め、主の前に悪を行った。
9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
10年が改まり春になって、ネブカデネザル王は人をつかわして、彼を主の宮の尊い器物と共にバビロンに連れて行かせ、その兄弟ゼデキヤをユダとエルサレムの王とした。
10At the return of the year king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of Yahweh, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11ゼデキヤは王となった時二十一歳で、十一年の間エルサレムで世を治めた。
11Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem:
12彼はその神、主の前に悪を行い、主の言葉を伝える預言者エレミヤの前に、身をひくくしなかった。
12and he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh his God; he didn’t humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of Yahweh.
13彼はまた、彼に神をさして誓わせたネブカデネザル王にもそむいた。彼は強情で、その心をかたくなにして、イスラエルの神、主に立ち返らなかった。
13He also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning to Yahweh, the God of Israel.
14祭司のかしらたちおよび民らもまた、すべて異邦人のもろもろの憎むべき行為にならって、はなはだしく罪を犯し、主がエルサレムに聖別しておかれた主の宮を汚した。
14Moreover all the chiefs of the priests, and the people, trespassed very greatly after all the abominations of the nations; and they polluted the house of Yahweh which he had made holy in Jerusalem.
15その先祖の神、主はその民と、すみかをあわれむがゆえに、しきりに、その使者を彼らにつかわされたが、
15Yahweh, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16彼らが神の使者たちをあざけり、その言葉を軽んじ、その預言者たちをののしったので、主の怒りがその民に向かって起り、ついに救うことができないようになった。
16but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against his people, until there was no remedy.
17そこで主はカルデヤびとの王を彼らに攻めこさせられたので、彼はその聖所の家でつるぎをもって若者たちを殺し、若者をも、処女をも、老人をも、しらがの者をもあわれまなかった。主は彼らをことごとく彼の手に渡された。
17Therefore he brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or gray-headed: he gave them all into his hand.
18彼は神の宮のもろもろの大小の器物、主の宮の貨財、王とそのつかさたちの貨財など、すべてこれをバビロンに携えて行き、
18All the vessels of God’s house, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon.
19神の宮を焼き、エルサレムの城壁をくずし、そのうちの宮殿をことごとく火で焼き、そのうちの尊い器物をことごとくこわした。
19They burnt God’s house, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels of it.
20彼はまたつるぎをのがれた者どもを、バビロンに捕えて行って、彼とその子らの家来となし、ペルシャの国の興るまで、そうして置いた。
20He carried those who had escaped from the sword away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21これはエレミヤの口によって伝えられた主の言葉の成就するためであった。こうして国はついにその安息をうけた。すなわちこれはその荒れている間、安息して、ついに七十年が満ちた。
21to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. As long as it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.
22ペルシャ王クロスの元年に当り、主はエレミヤの口によって伝えた主の言葉を成就するため、ペルシャ王クロスの霊を感動されたので、王はあまねく国中にふれ示し、またそれを書き示して言った、「ペルシャの王クロスはこう言う、『天の神、主は地上の国々をことごとくわたしに賜わって、主の宮をユダにあるエルサレムに建てることをわたしに命じられた。あなたがたのうち、その民である者は皆、その神、主の助けを得て上って行きなさい』」。
22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23「ペルシャの王クロスはこう言う、『天の神、主は地上の国々をことごとくわたしに賜わって、主の宮をユダにあるエルサレムに建てることをわたしに命じられた。あなたがたのうち、その民である者は皆、その神、主の助けを得て上って行きなさい』」。
23“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given all the kingdoms of the earth to me; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all his people, Yahweh his God be with him, and let him go up.’”
