¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before Yahweh, and died;

²主はモーセに言われた、「あなたの兄弟アロンに告げて、彼が時をわかたず、垂幕の内なる聖所に入り、箱の上なる贖罪所の前に行かぬようにさせなさい。彼が死を免れるためである。なぜなら、わたしは雲の中にあって贖罪所の上に現れるからである。

²and Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother, not to come at all times into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die: for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.

³アロンが聖所に、はいるには、次のようにしなければならない。すなわち雄の子牛を罪祭のために取り、雄羊を燔祭のために取り、

³“Herewith shall Aaron come into the sanctuary: with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

⁴聖なる亜麻布の服を着、亜麻布のももひきをその身にまとい、亜麻布の帯をしめ、亜麻布の帽子をかぶらなければならない。これらは聖なる衣服である。彼は水に身をすすいで、これを着なければならない。

⁴He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.

⁵またイスラエルの人々の会衆から雄やぎ二頭を罪祭のために取り、雄羊一頭を燔祭のために取らなければならない。

⁵He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

⁶そしてアロンは自分のための罪祭の雄牛をささげて、自分と自分の家族のために、あがないをしなければならない。

⁶“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

⁷アロンはまた二頭のやぎを取り、それを会見の幕屋の入口で主の前に立たせ、

⁷He shall take the two goats, and set them before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

⁸その二頭のやぎのために、くじを引かなければならない。すなわち一つのくじは主のため、一つのくじはアザゼルのためである。

⁸Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats; one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

⁹そしてアロンは主のためのくじに当ったやぎをささげて、これを罪祭としなければならない。

⁹Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer him for a sin offering.

¹⁰しかし、アザゼルのためのくじに当ったやぎは、主の前に生かしておき、これをもって、あがないをなし、これをアザゼルのために、荒野に送らなければならない。

¹⁰But the goat, on which the lot fell for the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away for the scapegoat into the wilderness.

¹¹すなわち、アロンは自分のための罪祭の雄牛をささげて、自分と自分の家族のために、あがないをしなければならない。彼は自分のための罪祭の雄牛をほふり、

¹¹“Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.

¹²主の前の祭壇から炭火を満たした香炉と、細かくひいた香ばしい薫香を両手いっぱい取って、これを垂幕の内に携え入り、

¹²He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahweh, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil:

¹³主の前で薫香をその火にくべ、薫香の雲に、あかしの箱の上なる贖罪所をおおわせなければならない。こうして、彼は死を免れるであろう。

¹³and he shall put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die.

¹⁴彼はまたその雄牛の血を取り、指をもってこれを贖罪所の東の面に注ぎ、また指をもってその血を贖罪所の前に、七たび注がなければならない。

¹⁴He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

¹⁵また民のための罪祭のやぎをほふり、その血を垂幕の内に携え入り、その血をかの雄牛の血のように、贖罪所の上と、贖罪所の前に注ぎ、

¹⁵“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

¹⁶イスラエルの人々の汚れと、そのとが、すなわち、彼らのもろもろの罪のゆえに、聖所のためにあがないをしなければならない。また彼らの汚れのうちに、彼らと共にある会見の幕屋のためにも、そのようにしなければならない。

¹⁶and he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness.

¹⁷彼が聖所であがないをするために、はいった時は、自分と自分の家族と、イスラエルの全会衆とのために、あがないをなし終えて出るまで、だれも会見の幕屋の内にいてはならない。

¹⁷No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

¹⁸そして彼は主の前の祭壇のもとに出てきて、これがために、あがないをしなければならない、すなわち、かの雄牛の血と、やぎの血とを取って祭壇の四すみの角につけ、

¹⁸“He shall go out to the altar that is before Yahweh and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.

¹⁹また指をもって七たびその血をその上に注ぎ、イスラエルの人々の汚れを除いてこれを清くし、聖別しなければならない。

¹⁹He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

²⁰こうして聖所と会見の幕屋と祭壇とのために、あがないをなし終えたとき、かの生きているやぎを引いてこなければならない。

²⁰“When he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.

²¹そしてアロンは、その生きているやぎの頭に両手をおき、イスラエルの人々のもろもろの悪と、もろもろのとが、すなわち、彼らのもろもろの罪をその上に告白して、これをやぎの頭にのせ、定めておいた人の手によって、これを荒野に送らなければならない。

²¹Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

²²こうしてやぎは彼らのもろもろの悪をになって、人里離れた地に行くであろう。すなわち、そのやぎを荒野に送らなければならない。

²²The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall let the goat go in the wilderness.

²³そして、アロンは会見の幕屋に入り、聖所に入る時に着た亜麻布の衣服を脱いで、そこに置き、

²³“Aaron shall come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.

²⁴聖なる所で水に身をすすぎ、他の衣服を着、出てきて、自分の燔祭と民の燔祭とをささげて、自分のため、また民のために、あがないをしなければならない。

²⁴Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

²⁵また罪祭の脂肪を祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。

²⁵The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.

²⁶かのやぎをアザゼルに送った者は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。その後、宿営に入ることができる。

²⁶“He who lets the goat go for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

²⁷聖所で、あがないをするために、その血を携え入れられた罪祭の雄牛と、罪祭のやぎとは、宿営の外に携え出し、その皮と肉と汚物とは、火で焼き捨てなければならない。

²⁷The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried forth outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.

²⁸これを焼く者は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。その後、宿営に入ることができる。

²⁸He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

²⁹これはあなたがたが永久に守るべき定めである。すなわち、七月になって、その月の十日に、あなたがたは身を悩まし、何の仕事もしてはならない。この国に生れた者も、あなたがたのうちに宿っている寄留者も、そうしなければならない。

²⁹“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, the native-born, or the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you:

³⁰この日にあなたがたのため、あなたがたを清めるために、あがないがなされ、あなたがたは主の前に、もろもろの罪が清められるからである。

³⁰for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins you shall be clean before Yahweh.

³¹これはあなたがたの全き休みの安息日であって、あなたがたは身を悩まさなければならない。これは永久に守るべき定めである。

³¹It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls; it is a statute forever.

³²油を注がれ、父に代って祭司の職に任じられる祭司は、亜麻布の衣服、すなわち、聖なる衣服を着て、あがないをしなければならない。

³²The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.

³³彼は至聖所のために、あがないをなし、また会見の幕屋のためと、祭壇のために、あがないをなし、また祭司たちのためと、民の全会衆のために、あがないをしなければならない。これはあなたがたの永久に守るべき定めであって、イスラエルの人々のもろもろの罪のために、年に一度あがないをするものである」。彼は主がモーセに命じられたとおりにおこなった。

³³Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

³⁴これはあなたがたの永久に守るべき定めであって、イスラエルの人々のもろもろの罪のために、年に一度あがないをするものである」。彼は主がモーセに命じられたとおりにおこなった。

³⁴“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as Yahweh commanded Moses.
