¹そのころ、ある安息日に、イエスは麦畑の中を通られた。すると弟子たちは、空腹であったので、穂を摘んで食べはじめた。

¹At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.

²パリサイ人たちがこれを見て、イエスに言った、「ごらんなさい、あなたの弟子たちが、安息日にしてはならないことをしています」。

²But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

³そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、ダビデとその供の者たちとが飢えたとき、ダビデが何をしたか読んだことがないのか。

³But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

⁴すなわち、神の家にはいって、祭司たちのほか、自分も供の者たちも食べてはならぬ供えのパンを食べたのである。

⁴ how he entered into God’s house, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 1 Samuel 21:3-6

⁵また、安息日に宮仕えをしている祭司たちは安息日を破っても罪にはならないことを、律法で読んだことがないのか。

⁵ Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?

⁶あなたがたに言っておく。宮よりも大いなる者がここにいる。

⁶ But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.

⁷『わたしが好むのは、あわれみであって、いけにえではない』とはどういう意味か知っていたなら、あなたがたは罪のない者をとがめなかったであろう。

⁷ But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ Hosea 6:6 you would not have condemned the guiltless.

⁸人の子は安息日の主である」。

⁸ For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

⁹イエスはそこを去って、彼らの会堂にはいられた。

⁹He departed there, and went into their synagogue.

¹⁰すると、そのとき、片手のなえた人がいた。人々はイエスを訴えようと思って、「安息日に人をいやしても、さしつかえないか」と尋ねた。

¹⁰And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” that they might accuse him.

¹¹イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたのうちに、一匹の羊を持っている人があるとして、もしそれが安息日に穴に落ちこんだなら、手をかけて引き上げてやらないだろうか。

¹¹He said to them, “What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it, and lift it out?

¹²人は羊よりも、はるかにすぐれているではないか。だから、安息日に良いことをするのは、正しいことである」。

¹² Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”

¹³そしてイエスはその人に、「手を伸ばしなさい」と言われた。そこで手を伸ばすと、ほかの手のように良くなった。

¹³Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.

¹⁴パリサイ人たちは出て行って、なんとかしてイエスを殺そうと相談した。

¹⁴But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.

¹⁵イエスはこれを知って、そこを去って行かれた。ところが多くの人々がついてきたので、彼らを皆いやし、

¹⁵Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,

¹⁶そして自分のことを人々にあらわさないようにと、彼らを戒められた。

¹⁶and commanded them that they should not make him known:

¹⁷これは預言者イザヤの言った言葉が、成就するためである、

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

¹⁸「見よ、わたしが選んだ僕、わたしの心にかなう、愛する者。わたしは彼にわたしの霊を授け、そして彼は正義を異邦人に宣べ伝えるであろう。

¹⁸“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.

¹⁹彼は争わず、叫ばず、またその声を大路で聞く者はない。

¹⁹He will not strive, nor shout; neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

²⁰彼が正義に勝ちを得させる時まで、いためられた葦を折ることがなく、煙っている燈心を消すこともない。

²⁰He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.

²¹異邦人は彼の名に望みを置くであろう」。

²¹In his name, the nations will hope.” Isaiah 42:1-4

²²そのとき、人々が悪霊につかれた盲人のおしを連れてきたので、イエスは彼をいやして、物を言い、また目が見えるようにされた。

²²Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.

²³すると群衆はみな驚いて言った、「この人が、あるいはダビデの子ではあるまいか」。

²³All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”

²⁴しかし、パリサイ人たちは、これを聞いて言った、「この人が悪霊を追い出しているのは、まったく悪霊のかしらベルゼブルによるのだ」。

²⁴But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”

²⁵イエスは彼らの思いを見抜いて言われた、「おおよそ、内部で分れ争う国は自滅し、内わで分れ争う町や家は立ち行かない。

²⁵Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

²⁶もしサタンがサタンを追い出すならば、それは内わで分れ争うことになる。それでは、その国はどうして立ち行けよう。

²⁶ If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

²⁷もしわたしがベルゼブルによって悪霊を追い出すとすれば、あなたがたの仲間はだれによって追い出すのであろうか。だから、彼らがあなたがたをさばく者となるであろう。

²⁷ If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

²⁸しかし、わたしが神の霊によって悪霊を追い出しているのなら、神の国はすでにあなたがたのところにきたのである。

²⁸ But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

²⁹まただれでも、まず強い人を縛りあげなければ、どうして、その人の家に押し入って家財を奪い取ることができようか。縛ってから、はじめてその家を掠奪することができる。

²⁹ Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.

³⁰わたしの味方でない者は、わたしに反対するものであり、わたしと共に集めない者は、散らすものである。

³⁰ “He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.

³¹だから、あなたがたに言っておく。人には、その犯すすべての罪も神を汚す言葉も、ゆるされる。しかし、聖霊を汚す言葉は、ゆるされることはない。

³¹ Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

³²また人の子に対して言い逆らう者は、ゆるされるであろう。しかし、聖霊に対して言い逆らう者は、この世でも、きたるべき世でも、ゆるされることはない。

³² Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.

³³木が良ければ、その実も良いとし、木が悪ければ、その実も悪いとせよ。木はその実でわかるからである。

³³ “Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.

³⁴まむしの子らよ。あなたがたは悪い者であるのに、どうして良いことを語ることができようか。おおよそ、心からあふれることを、口が語るものである。

³⁴ You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

³⁵善人はよい倉から良い物を取り出し、悪人は悪い倉から悪い物を取り出す。

³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure TR adds “of the heart” brings out evil things.

³⁶あなたがたに言うが、審判の日には、人はその語る無益な言葉に対して、言い開きをしなければならないであろう。

³⁶ I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

³⁷あなたは、自分の言葉によって正しいとされ、また自分の言葉によって罪ありとされるからである」。

³⁷ For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

³⁸そのとき、律法学者、パリサイ人のうちのある人々がイエスにむかって言った、「先生、わたしたちはあなたから、しるしを見せていただきとうございます」。

³⁸Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

³⁹すると、彼らに答えて言われた、「邪悪で不義な時代は、しるしを求める。しかし、預言者ヨナのしるしのほかには、なんのしるしも与えられないであろう。

³⁹But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

⁴⁰すなわち、ヨナが三日三晩、大魚の腹の中にいたように、人の子も三日三晩、地の中にいるであろう。

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁴¹ニネベの人々が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、ニネベの人々はヨナの宣教によって悔い改めたからである。しかし見よ、ヨナにまさる者がここにいる。

⁴¹ The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

⁴²南の女王が、今の時代の人々と共にさばきの場に立って、彼らを罪に定めるであろう。なぜなら、彼女はソロモンの知恵を聞くために地の果から、はるばるきたからである。しかし見よ、ソロモンにまさる者がここにいる。

⁴² The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.

⁴³汚れた霊が人から出ると、休み場を求めて水の無い所を歩きまわるが、見つからない。

⁴³ But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.

⁴⁴そこで、出てきた元の家に帰ろうと言って帰って見ると、その家はあいていて、そうじがしてある上、飾りつけがしてあった。

⁴⁴ Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came out,’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

⁴⁵そこでまた出て行って、自分以上に悪い他の七つの霊を一緒に引き連れてきて中にはいり、そこに住み込む。そうすると、その人ののちの状態は初めよりももっと悪くなるのである。よこしまな今の時代も、このようになるであろう」。

⁴⁵ Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”

⁴⁶イエスがまだ群衆に話しておられるとき、その母と兄弟たちとが、イエスに話そうと思って外に立っていた。

⁴⁶While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.

⁴⁷それで、ある人がイエスに言った、「ごらんなさい。あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、あなたに話そうと思って、外に立っておられます」。

⁴⁷One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”

⁴⁸イエスは知らせてくれた者に答えて言われた、「わたしの母とは、だれのことか。わたしの兄弟とは、だれのことか」。

⁴⁸But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”

⁴⁹そして、弟子たちの方に手をさし伸べて言われた、「ごらんなさい。ここにわたしの母、わたしの兄弟がいる。天にいますわたしの父のみこころを行う者はだれでも、わたしの兄弟、また姉妹、また母なのである」。

⁴⁹He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!

⁵⁰天にいますわたしの父のみこころを行う者はだれでも、わたしの兄弟、また姉妹、また母なのである」。

⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
