¹These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

²モーセは主の命により、その旅路にしたがって宿駅を書きとめた。その宿駅にしたがえば旅路は次のとおりである。

²Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

³彼らは正月の十五日にラメセスを出立した。すなわち過越の翌日イスラエルの人々は、すべてのエジプトびとの目の前を意気揚々と出立した。

³They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

⁴その時エジプトびとは、主に撃ち殺されたすべてのういごを葬っていた。主はまた彼らの神々にも罰を加えられた。

⁴while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them: on their gods also Yahweh executed judgments.

⁵こうしてイスラエルの人々はラメセスを出立してスコテに宿営し、

⁵The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

⁶スコテを出立して荒野の端にあるエタムに宿営し、

⁶They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

⁷エタムを出立してバアル・ゼポンの前にあるピハヒロテに引き返してミグドルの前に宿営し、

⁷They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.

⁸ピハヒロテを出立して、海のなかをとおって荒野に入り、エタムの荒野を三日路ほど行って、メラに宿営し、

⁸They traveled from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

⁹メラを出立し、エリムに行って宿営した。エリムには水の泉十二と、なつめやし七十本とがあった。

³⁷カデシを出立してエドムの国の端にあるホル山に宿営した。

³⁷They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

³⁸イスラエルの人々がエジプトの国を出て四十年目の五月一日に、祭司アロンは主の命によりホル山に登って、その所で死んだ。

³⁸Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

³⁹アロンはホル山で死んだとき百二十三歳であった。

³⁹Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

⁴⁰カナンの地のネゲブに住んでいたカナンびとアラデの王は、イスラエルの人々の来るのを聞いた。

⁴⁰The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

⁴¹ついで、ホル山を出立してザルモナに宿営し、

⁴¹They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

⁴²ザルモナを出立してプノンに宿営し、

⁴²They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

⁴³プノンを出立してオボテに宿営し、

⁴³They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

⁴⁴オボテを出立してモアブの境にあるイエ・アバリムに宿営し、

⁴⁴They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab.

⁴⁵イエ・アバリムを出立してデボン・ガドに宿営し、

⁴⁵They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad.

⁴⁶デボン・ガドを出立してアルモン・デブラタイムに宿営し、

⁴⁶They traveled from Dibon Gad, and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.

⁴⁷アルモン・デブラタイムを出立してネボの前にあるアバリムの山に宿営し、

⁴⁷They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

⁴⁸アバリムの山を出立してエリコに近いヨルダンのほとりのモアブの平野に宿営した。

⁴⁸They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

⁴⁹すなわちヨルダンのほとりのモアブの平野で、ベテエシモテとアベル・シッテムとの間に宿営した。

⁴⁹They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁵⁰エリコに近いヨルダンのほとりのモアブの平野で、主はモーセに言われた、

⁵⁰Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁵¹「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい。あなたがたがヨルダンを渡ってカナンの地にはいるときは、

⁵¹Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

⁵²その地の住民をことごとくあなたがたの前から追い払い、すべての石像をこぼち、すべての鋳像をこぼち、すべての高き所を破壊しなければならない。

⁵²then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.

⁵³またあなたがたはその地の民を追い払って、そこに住まなければならない。わたしがその地をあなたがたの所有として与えたからである。

⁵³You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given given the land to you to possess it.

⁵⁴あなたがたは、おのおの氏族ごとにくじを引き、その地を分けて嗣業としなければならない。大きい部族には多くの嗣業を与え、小さい部族には少しの嗣業を与えなければならない。そのくじの当った所がその所有となるであろう。あなたがたは父祖の部族にしたがって、それを継がなければならない。

⁵⁴You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

⁵⁵しかし、その地の住民をあなたがたの前から追い払わないならば、その残して置いた者はあなたがたの目にとげとなり、あなたがたの脇にいばらとなり、あなたがたの住む国において、あなたがたを悩ますであろう。また、わたしは彼らにしようと思ったとおりに、あなたがたにするであろう」。

⁵⁵“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell.

⁵⁶また、わたしは彼らにしようと思ったとおりに、あなたがたにするであろう」。

⁵⁶It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.”
