¹またわたしが見ていると、ひとりの御使が、底知れぬ所のかぎと大きな鎖とを手に持って、天から降りてきた。

¹I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

²彼は、悪魔でありサタンである龍、すなわち、かの年を経たへびを捕えて千年の間つなぎおき、

²He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years,

³そして、底知れぬ所に投げ込み、入口を閉じてその上に封印し、千年の期間が終るまで、諸国民を惑わすことがないようにしておいた。その後、しばらくの間だけ解放されることになっていた。

³and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time.

⁴また見ていると、かず多くの座があり、その上に人々がすわっていた。そして、彼らにさばきの権が与えられていた。また、イエスのあかしをし神の言を伝えたために首を切られた人々の霊がそこにおり、また、獣をもその像をも拝まず、その刻印を額や手に受けることをしなかった人々がいた。彼らは生きかえって、キリストと共に千年の間、支配した。

⁴I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

⁵（それ以外の死人は、千年の期間が終るまで生きかえらなかった。）これが第一の復活である。

⁵The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

⁶この第一の復活にあずかる者は、さいわいな者であり、また聖なる者である。この人たちに対しては、第二の死はなんの力もない。彼らは神とキリストとの祭司となり、キリストと共に千年の間、支配する。

⁶Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.

⁷千年の期間が終ると、サタンはその獄から解放される。

⁷And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison,

⁸そして、出て行き、地の四方にいる諸国民、すなわちゴグ、マゴグを惑わし、彼らを戦いのために召集する。その数は、海の砂のように多い。

⁸and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

⁹彼らは地上の広い所に上ってきて、聖徒たちの陣営と愛されていた都とを包囲した。すると、天から火が下ってきて、彼らを焼き尽した。

⁹They went up over the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them.

¹⁰そして、彼らを惑わした悪魔は、火と硫黄との池に投げ込まれた。そこには、獣もにせ預言者もいて、彼らは世々限りなく日夜、苦しめられるのである。

¹⁰The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹¹また見ていると、大きな白い御座があり、そこにいますかたがあった。天も地も御顔の前から逃げ去って、あとかたもなくなった。

¹¹I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.

¹²また、死んでいた者が、大いなる者も小さき者も共に、御座の前に立っているのが見えた。かずかずの書物が開かれたが、もう一つの書物が開かれた。これはいのちの書であった。死人はそのしわざに応じ、この書物に書かれていることにしたがって、さばかれた。

¹²I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

¹³海はその中にいる死人を出し、死も黄泉もその中にいる死人を出し、そして、おのおのそのしわざに応じて、さばきを受けた。

¹³The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades or, Hell gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.

¹⁴それから、死も黄泉も火の池に投げ込まれた。この火の池が第二の死である。このいのちの書に名がしるされていない者はみな、火の池に投げ込まれた。

¹⁴Death and Hades or, Hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

¹⁵このいのちの書に名がしるされていない者はみな、火の池に投げ込まれた。

¹⁵If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
