¹この後、わたしは四人の御使が地の四すみに立っているのを見た。彼らは地の四方の風をひき止めて、地にも海にもすべての木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。

¹After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth, or on the sea, or on any tree.

²また、もうひとりの御使が、生ける神の印を持って、日の出る方から上って来るのを見た。彼は地と海とをそこなう権威を授かっている四人の御使にむかって、大声で叫んで言った、

²I saw another angel ascend from the sunrise, having the seal of the living God. He cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea,

³「わたしたちの神の僕らの額に、わたしたちが印をおしてしまうまでは、地と海と木とをそこなってはならない」。

³saying, “Don’t harm the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, until we have sealed the bondservants of our God on their foreheads!”

⁴わたしは印をおされた者の数を聞いたが、イスラエルの子らのすべての部族のうち、印をおされた者は十四万四千人であった。

⁴I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel:

⁵ユダの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされ、ルベンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ガドの部族のうち、一万二千人、

⁵of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand, of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,

⁶アセルの部族のうち、一万二千人、ナフタリの部族のうち、一万二千人、マナセの部族のうち、一万二千人、

⁶of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,

⁷シメオンの部族のうち、一万二千人、レビの部族のうち、一万二千人、イサカルの部族のうち、一万二千人、

⁷of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,

⁸ゼブルンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ヨセフの部族のうち、一万二千人、ベニヤミンの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされた。

⁸of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

⁹その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、数えきれないほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を身にまとい、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立ち、

⁹After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

¹⁰大声で叫んで言った、「救は、御座にいますわれらの神と小羊からきたる」。

¹⁰They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

¹¹御使たちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物とのまわりに立っていたが、御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、

¹¹All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God,

¹²「アァメン、さんび、栄光、知恵、感謝、ほまれ、力、勢いが、世々限りなく、われらの神にあるように、アァメン」。

¹²saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

¹³長老たちのひとりが、わたしにむかって言った、「この白い衣を身にまとっている人々は、だれか。また、どこからきたのか」。

¹³One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?”

¹⁴わたしは彼に答えた、「わたしの主よ、それはあなたがご存じです」。すると、彼はわたしに言った、「彼らは大きな患難をとおってきた人たちであって、その衣を小羊の血で洗い、それを白くしたのである。

¹⁴I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.

¹⁵それだから彼らは、神の御座の前におり、昼も夜もその聖所で神に仕えているのである。御座にいますかたは、彼らの上に幕屋を張って共に住まわれるであろう。

¹⁵Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.

¹⁶彼らは、もはや飢えることがなく、かわくこともない。太陽も炎暑も、彼らを侵すことはない。御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。

¹⁶They will never be hungry, neither thirsty any more; neither will the sun beat on them, nor any heat;

¹⁷御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。

¹⁷for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
