1Di temdint n Qiṣarya, yella yiwen wergaz iwumi qqaṛen Kurnilyus, d lqebṭan n yiwet n terbaɛt isem-is « tarbaɛt n Selyan ».
1But a certain man in Caesarea, -- by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,
2Am nețța am wexxam-is ḍuɛen Sidi Ṛebbi ; ițseddiq i igellilen, yerna am iḍ am ass yezga ideɛɛu ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
2pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,
3Yiwen wass, leǧwahi n tlata n tmeddit, iweḥḥa-yas-ed Sidi Ṛebbi, iwala yiwen lmelk ikcem-ed ɣuṛ-es yenna-yas-d : A Kurnilyus !
3-- saw plainly in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.
4Kurnilyus yerfed allen-is ɣuṛ-es, tekcem-it tugdi, ițergigi, yerra-yas : D acu, a Sidi ? Lmelk yenna-yas-d : Sidi Ṛebbi yeqbel taẓallit-ik akk-d lewɛadi i tețțakeḍ i imeɣban ;
4But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.
5Tura ceggeɛ irgazen ɣer temdint n Jafa, ɣer Semɛun, win iwumi qqaṛen Butṛus, iwakken a d-yas.
5And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
6A t-tafeḍ ɣer yiwen wergaz i gxeddmen deg uɣerruz, ula d nețța isem-is Semɛun ; axxam-is yezga-d ɣef rrif n lebḥeṛ.
6He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.
7Mi gṛuḥ lmelk-nni i s-d-ihedṛen, Kurnilyus yessawel i sin seg iqeddacen-is akk-d yiwen uɛeskṛi n terbɛat-is i gellan d argaz iḍuɛen Sidi Ṛebbi.
7And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,
8iḥka-yasen-d ayen akk yedṛan; dɣa iceggeɛ-iten ɣer temdint n Jafa.
8and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.
9Azekka-nni, mi qṛib ad awḍen wid i gceggeɛ Kurnilyus ɣer temdint n Jafa, Buṭrus yuɣ-it lḥal yuli ɣef ssḍeḥ iwakken ad idɛu ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi, aț-țili d leǧwahi n tnac n wass,
9And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
10yeṭṭef-it laẓ yebɣa ad yečč. Llan țheggin-as-ed lqut, taswiɛt kan iweḥḥa-yas-ed Sidi Ṛebbi ;
10And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:
11iwala igenni yeldi, yiwet lḥaǧa icuban ɣer tẓeṛbit tameqqrant icudden si ṛebɛa tɣemmaṛ, tețṣubbu-d ɣer lqaɛa.
11and he beholds the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as a great sheet, [bound] by [the] four corners [and] let down to the earth;
12Llan deg-s lewḥuc at ṛebɛa idaṛṛen n mkul ṣṣifa, wid iteddun ɣef wuɛebbuḍ, akk-d yefṛax n igenni s mkul ṣṣifa.
12in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven.
13Yesla i yiwen n ṣṣut yenna yas-d : A Buṭrus, ekker ! Ezlu teččeḍ !
13And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat.
14Lameɛna Butṛus yenna-yas : Ala a Sidi, di leɛmeṛ-iw ur ččiɣ ayen iḥeṛmen neɣ ayen ur neṣfi.
14And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean.
15Sṣut-nni inṭeq-ed tikkelt tis snat yenna-yas-d : Ayen iḥseb Sidi Ṛebbi d leḥlal, ur k-id-iṣaḥ ara a t-tḥesbeḍ d leḥṛam !
15And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not *thou* make common.
16Ayagi, iweḥḥa-yas-t-id Sidi Ṛebbi tlata n tikkal ; imiren kan, lḥaǧa-nni tețwarfed ɣer igenni.
16And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven.
17Akken mazal Buṭrus yețxemmim ɣef lmeɛna n uweḥḥi-nni, wwḍen-d yergazen-nni i d-iceggeɛ Kurnilyus steqsayen ɣef wexxam n Semɛun.
17And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,
18Mi d-wwḍen ɣer tewwurt, ssawlen, steqsan ma deg wexxam-nni i gețțili Semɛun iwumi qqaṛen Butṛus.
18and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there.
19Mazal Buṭrus ițxemmim ɣef wuweḥḥi-nni, mi s-d-yenna Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen : Atnaya tlata yergazen țnadin fell-ak.
19But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee;
20Ur țkukru ara, kker, ddu yid-sen axaṭer d nekk i ten-id iceggɛen.
20but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because *I* have sent them.
21Butṛus iṣubb-ed ɣuṛ-sen, yenna yasen : Aql-i ! D nekk i d Buṭrus ! D acu akka i kkun-id-yewwin ɣuṛ-i ?
21And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, *I* am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come?
22Nutni rran-as : D lqebṭan-nneɣ Kurnilyus, i ɣ-d iceggɛen ɣuṛ-ek ! D argaz țcekkiṛen akk wat Isṛail yerna ḥemmlen-t axaṭer d amdan aḥeqqi iḍuɛen Sidi Ṛebbi. Ibedd-ed ɣuṛ-es lmelk n Sidi Ṛebbi yenna-yas-d a d-iceggeɛ ɣuṛ-ek, a d-taseḍ ɣer wexxam-is iwakken ad isel i wayen i tesɛiḍ a s-t-id-tiniḍ.
22And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.
23Buṭrus issekcem-iten ad nsen ɣuṛ-es. Azekka-nni ikker yedda yid-sen nețța d kra n watmaten n Jafa.
23Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him.
24Sellazekka-nni, wwḍen ɣer temdint n Qiṣarya. Kurnilyus yețṛaǧu ten deg wexxam-is nețța d leḥbab-is akk-d imawlan-is i d-yeɛṛeḍ.
24And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends.
25Akken iteddu Butṛus ad yekcem, immuger-it-id Kurnilyus ɣer tewwurt n wefrag, yeɣli ɣer idaṛṛen-is, yekna zdat-es iwakken ad isṭerḥeb yis s leqdeṛ ameqqran.
25And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage.
26Meɛna Butṛus issekker-it-id yenna-yas : Kker fell-ak ! D amdan am kečč i lliɣ.
26But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: *I* myself also am a man.
27Leḥḥun, țmeslayen armi kecmen ɣer wexxam, yufa dinna aṭas n yemdanen i gennejmaɛen.
27And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together.
28Buṭrus yenna-yasen : Yak teẓram d leḥṛam i wemdan n wat Isṛail ad ixaleḍ abeṛṛani neɣ ad ikcem ɣer wexxam-is. Lameɛna Sidi Ṛebbi yessefhem-iyi-d belli ur ilaq ara a d-nini ɣef walebɛaḍ belli ur zeddig ara neɣ ur iṣfi ara ;
28And he said to them, *Ye* know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to *me* God has shewn to call no man common or unclean.
29daymi i qebleɣ a d-aseɣ mi yi-d-tessawlem. Init-iyi-d tura sebba ɣef wacu i d-tceggɛem ɣuṛ-i.
29Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me.
30Kurnilyus yerra-yas : Ṛebɛa wussan aya, leǧwahi n tlata n tmeddit, lliɣ deɛɛuɣ ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi deg wexxam-iw ; ataya ibedd-ed zdat-i yiwen wergaz s llebsa yețfeǧǧiǧen,
30And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31yenna-yi-d : « A Kurnilyus ! Sidi Ṛebbi yeqbel taẓallit-ik akk-d lewɛadi i tețțakeḍ i igellilen.
31and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God.
32Ceggeɛ ɣer temdint n Jafa ɣerSemɛun ițusemman Butṛus iwakken a d-yas ; a t-tafeḍ ɣer yiwen i gxeddmen igelman, ula d nețța isem-is Semɛun ; axxam-is yezga-d ɣef rrif n lebḥeṛ.
32Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee].
33Imiren ceggɛeɣ-en ɣuṛ-ek ; tanemmirt-ik imi d-tusiḍ. Tura ihi aql-aɣ akk dagi zdat Sidi Ṛebbi iwakken a nsel s ɣuṛ-ek, ayen akk i k-d-yumeṛ Sidi Ṛebbi a ɣ-t-id-tiniḍ.
33Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and *thou* hast well done in coming. Now therefore *we* are all present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
34Butṛus yebda ameslay yenna : Armi ț-țura i fehmeɣ belli ț-țideț, Sidi Ṛebbi ur ixeddem ara lxilaf ger yemdanen.
34And Peter opening his mouth said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,
35 Lameɛna di mkul lǧens, yal amdan i t-yețḍuɛun, ixeddmen ayen yellan d lḥeqq, iɛǧeb-as i Ṛebbi i gellan d Illu n yemdanen meṛṛa ; teslam belli iceggeɛ-ed awal-is i wat Isṛail, ibecceṛ-asen-d lehna s Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
35but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
37Ahat teslam s wayen yedṛan di tmurt n Yahuda meṛṛa ; yebda-d si tmurt n Jlili seg wasmi ițbecciṛ Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas, aɣḍas n waman.
36The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (*he* is Lord of all things,)
38Teslam s Ɛisa Anaṣari amek i t-iččuṛ Sidi Ṛebbi s tezmert akk-d Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen, amek i gteddu seg umkan ɣer wayeḍ, ixeddem lxiṛ, amek isseḥlay wid akk i gemlek Cciṭan, axaṭer Sidi Ṛebbi ițțili yid-es.
37*ye* know; the testimony which has spread through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached --
39Aql-aɣ d inigan n wayen akk i gexdem di tmurt n wat Isṛail ț-țemdint n Lquds anda i t-nɣan mi t-semmṛen ɣef wumidag,
38Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
40meɛna ass wis tlata Sidi Ṛebbi isseḥya-t-id si ger lmegtin ; yefka-yas tazmert s wayes i d-isbeggen iman-is,
39*We* also [are] witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.
41mačči i yemdanen meṛṛa meɛna i nukkni kan i gextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi a nili d inagan-is ; nukkni yeččan, yeswan yid-es mi d-iḥya si ger lmegtin.
40This [man] God raised up the third day and gave him to be openly seen,
42Sidna Ɛisa iweṣṣa-yaɣ a nbecceṛ i yemdanen meṛṛa, belli d nețța i gextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi iwakken ad iḥaseb wid yeddren akk-d wid yemmuten.
41not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, *us* who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.
43Lenbiya akk cehden-d fell-as belli kra n win ara yamnen yis, a s-țwaɛeffun ddnubat-is s yisem-is.
42And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that *he* it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.
44Urɛad ifuk Buṭrus ameslay mi d-yers Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen ɣef wid akk yellan dinna, i gesmeḥsisen i wawal n Sidi Ṛebbi.
43To him all the prophets bear witness that every one that believes on him will receive through his name remission of sins.
45Wid i geddan d Butṛus, yellan d at Isṛail yumnen s Lmasiḥ, dehcen, wehmen imi d-yețțunefk Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen ula i wid ur nelli ara n wat Isṛail.
44While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.
46Axaṭer sellen-asen heddṛen yerna țḥemmiden Sidi Ṛebbi s tutlayin ur nețwassen ara. Dɣa Butṛus yenna :
45And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out:
47Eɛni nezmer a nḥeṛṛem seg weɣḍas deg waman wid iwumi i d-yețțunefk Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen am nukkni ?
46for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
48Dɣa Yefka lameṛ ad țwaɣeḍsen s yisem n Sidna Ɛisa Lmasiḥ ; imiren ḥellelen-t ad yeqqim yid-sen kra n wussan.
47Can any one forbid water that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also [did]?
48And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.
