¹Mi ɛeddan xemsa wussan, lmuqeddem ameqqran Ananyas iṣubb-ed ɣer Qiṣarya nețța d kra n lɛuqal n wat Isṛail akk-d yiwen ubugaṭu isem-is Tertulus ; usan-d ɣer lḥakem ad ccetkin ɣef Bulus.

¹And after five days came down the high priest Ananias, with the elders, and a certain orator called Tertullus, and laid their informations against Paul before the governor.

²Mi d-ssawlen i Bulus, Tertulus yebda accetki fell-as s yimeslayen agi :

²And he having been called, Tertullus began to accuse, saying, Seeing we enjoy great peace through thee, and that excellent measures are executed for this nation by thy forethought,

³A lḥakem ameqqran ! S uḍebbaṛ-ik yelhan i d-yers lxiṛ d lehna ɣef tmurt-agi ! Ɣef wayagi, a Filiks ameqqran, ncekkeṛ-ik meṛṛa di mkul amkan ;

³we receive [it] always and everywhere, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.

⁴lameɛna iwakken ur k-nețɛeṭṭil ara aṭas, di leɛnaya-k semḥess-ed i kra n yimeslayen-agi ara k-d-nini :

⁴But that I may not too much intrude on thy time, I beseech thee to hear us briefly in thy kindness.

⁵Argaz-agi d țerka, iskker ccwal ger wat Isṛail n ddunit meṛṛa, d nețța i d ameqqran n tejmaɛt n inaṣariyen.

⁵For finding this man a pest, and moving sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a leader of the sect of the Nazaraeans;

⁶Yeɛṛed ad issenǧes ula d lǧameɛ iqedsen. Mi t-neṭṭef, nebɣa a neḥkem fell-as s ccariɛa-nneɣ,

⁶who also attempted to profane the temple; whom we also had seized, [and would have judged according to our law;

⁷lameɛna yewweḍ-ed lqebṭan ameqqran Lizyas, ikkes-aɣ-t s ddreɛ si ger ifassen-nneɣ,

⁷but Lysias, the chiliarch, coming up, took [him] away with great force out of our hands,

⁸yerna yumeṛ i wid iccetkan fell-as a d-asen ad ccetkin ɣuṛ-ek. Tura tzemreḍ s yiman-ik a t-tbeḥteḍ, iwakken aț-țesleḍ seg yimi-s wayen akk i ɣef neccetka fell-as.

⁸having commanded his accusers to come to thee;] of whom thou canst thyself, in examining [him], know the certainty of all these things of which we accuse him.

⁹At Isṛail yellan dinna, cehden akk belli akka i gella lḥal.

⁹And the Jews also joined in pressing the matter against [Paul], saying that these things were so.

¹⁰Mi i s-iwehha lḥakem i Bulus iwakken a d-ihdeṛ, Bulus yenna : Sriɣ aṭas iseggasen aya i telliḍ d lḥakem ɣef wegdud-agi ; ihi s laman ara d-qeddmeɣ tamsalt-iw zdat-ek.

¹⁰But Paul, the governor having beckoned to him to speak, answered, Knowing that for many years thou hast been judge to this nation, I answer readily as to the things which concern myself.

¹¹Ur wwiḍen ara tnac wussan segmi uliɣ ɣer temdint n Lquds iwakken ad ɛebdeɣ Ṛebbi, tzemreḍ aț-țesteqsiḍ s yiman-ik.

¹¹As thou mayest know that there are not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem,

¹²Ulac win i yi-d-yufan deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen țemjadaleɣ nekk d walebɛaḍ, ulac daɣen win i yi-d-yufan di leǧwameɛ n wat Isṛail neɣ di temdint sekkreɣ ccwal ger lɣaci.

¹²and neither in the temple did they find me discoursing to any one, or making any tumultuous gathering together of the crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;

¹³Ur zmiren ara a d-awin țțbut n wayen akka i ɣef d-ccetkan fell-i.

¹³neither can they make good the things of which they now accuse me.

¹⁴Zemreɣ a d-iniɣ zdat-ek a lḥakem Filiks : Ṛebbi i ɛebbdeɣ, d win akken ɛebden lejdud-iw ; s tideț umneɣ s webrid-agi ajdid i ɣef d-qqaṛen : « ixulef abrid-nsen » ; lameɛna umneɣ s wayen akk yuran di ccariɛa n Musa akk-d lenbiya.

¹⁴But this I avow to thee, that in the way which they call sect, so I serve my fathers' God, believing all things which are written throughout the law, and in the prophets;

¹⁵Sɛiɣ asirem ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi -- am akken i t-sɛan ula d nutni -- belli a d-ḥyun yemdanen meṛṛa ama d iḥeqqiyen ama d wid ixedmen cceṛ.

¹⁵having hope towards God, which they themselves also receive, that there is to be a resurrection both of just and unjust.

¹⁶Daymi țɛassaɣ iman-iw kull ass, iwakken ad sɛuɣ ul yeṣfan zdat Ṛebbi akk-d yemdanen.

¹⁶For this cause I also exercise [myself] to have in everything a conscience without offence towards God and men.

¹⁷Acḥal n iseggasen, nekk ɛaceɣ di lɣeṛba ; usiɣ-ed iwakken a d-awiɣ kra n yedrimen i d-jemɛeɣ d lemɛawna i igellilen n tmurt-iw yerna wwiɣ-ed daɣen lweɛdat i Sidi Ṛebbi.

¹⁷And after a lapse of many years I arrived, bringing alms to my nation, and offerings.

¹⁸Atan wamek i yi-d-ufan deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen : ufan-iyi-d akken kan i ssezdegeɣ iman-iw akken i d-tenna ccariɛa; ur iyi-d zzin imdanen ur yelli ccwal

¹⁸Whereupon they found me purified in the temple, with neither crowd nor tumult. But it was certain Jews from Asia,

¹⁹yerna d at Isṛail n tmurt n Asya i gellan dinna, d nutni i glaq ad bedden zdat-ek ma sɛan kra ɣef wacu ara ccetkin fell-i.

¹⁹who ought to appear before thee and accuse, if they have anything against me;

²⁰Neɣ m'ulac wid yellan dagi, a d-inin d acu ufan deg-i n diri mi beddeɣ zdat unejmaɛ-nsen n ccṛeɛ ;

²⁰or let these themselves say what wrong they found in me when I stood before the council,

²¹anagar ma yella ɣef wawal-nni i d-nniɣ s leɛyaḍ gar-asen : « imi umneɣ s ḥeggu n lmegtin, i d-beddeɣ ass-agi ɣer ccṛeɛ zdat-wen ! »

²¹[other] than concerning this one voice which I cried standing amongst them: I am judged this day by you touching [the] resurrection of [the] dead.

²²Filiks yesnen akken ilaq abrid n Lmasiḥ, yenna-yasen : Uɣalet-ed m'ara d-yaweḍ lqebṭan Lizyas, imiren ad ẓreɣ tamsalt-nwen.

²²And Felix, knowing accurately the things concerning the way, adjourned them, saying, When Lysias the chiliarch is come down I will determine your affair;

²³Yefka lameṛ i yiwen n lfesyan ad iɛass Bulus, lameɛna a s-yeǧǧ kra n țesriḥ, yerna ad yeǧǧ imdukkal-is a d-reSSun fell-ass.

²³ordering the centurion to keep him, and that he should have freedom, and to hinder none of his friends to minister to him.

²⁴Mi ɛeddan kra wussan, yusa-d Filiks akk-d țmeṭṭut-is Drusila, nețțat yellan n wat Isṛail, iceggeɛ a d-awin Bulus, iwakken a sen-d-ihdeṛ ɣef wayen yeɛnan liman di Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.

²⁴And after certain days, Felix having arrived with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

²⁵Mi gebda Bulus iheddeṛ ɣef lḥeqq, ɣef wamek ilaq ad iḥkem wemdan deg iman-is, ɣef wass n lḥisab i d-iteddun, Filiks ikcem-it lxuf, yenna-yas : Dayen, tzemreḍ aț-țṛuḥeḍ tura. M'ara d-stifeɣ, a k-d-ssiwleɣ.

²⁵And as he reasoned concerning righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment about to come, Felix, being filled with fear, answered, Go for the present, and when I get an opportunity I will send for thee;

²⁶Imi i geḍmeɛ di Bulus a s-yefk idrimen, si teswiɛt ɣer tayeḍ issawal-as-ed iwakken ad ihdeṛ yid-es.

²⁶hoping at the same time that money would be given him by Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener and communed with him.

²⁷Ɛeddan sin n iseggasen ; dɣa Bursyus Fistus yuɣal d lḥakem deg wemkan n Filiks. Filiks-nni imi i gebɣa ad iɛǧeb i wat Isṛail, yeǧǧa Bulus di lḥebs.

²⁷But when two years were completed, Felix was relieved by Porcius Festus as his successor; and Felix, desirous to oblige the Jews, to acquire their favour, left Paul bound.
