1Aɣribas yenna i Bulus : -- Atan ɣuṛ-ek wawal, tzemreḍ aț-țdafɛeḍ ɣef yiman-ik. Bulus yerfed afus-is iwakken ad idafeɛ ɣef yiman-is, yenna :
1And Agrippa said to Paul, It is permitted thee to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretching out his hand answered in his defence:
2Feṛḥeɣ aṭas ay agellid Aɣribas imi zdat-ek ara ɛeddiɣ di ccṛeɛ ass-agi ɣef wayen akk i ccetkan fell-i wat Isṛail,
2I count myself happy, king Agrippa, in having to answer to-day before thee concerning all of which I am accused by the Jews,
3axaṭer tesneḍ akken ilaq leɛwayed akk-d yimeslayen-nsen ; di leɛnaya-k ihi semḥess-iyi-d s leɛqel.
3especially because thou art acquainted with all the customs and questions which are among the Jews; wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
4At Isṛail ssnen tikli-inu si temẓi-w, axaṭer țțuṛebbaɣ di temdint n Lquds ger warraw n tmurt-iw.
4My manner of life then from my youth, which from its commencement was passed among my nation in Jerusalem, know all the Jews,
5Ssnen-iyi si zik ma bɣan ad cehden fell-i. Lliɣ d afarizi, tebɛeɣ leqwanen iweɛṛen yeɛnan ddin-nneɣ di tejmaɛt n ifariziyen.
5who knew me before from the outset [of my life], if they would bear witness, that according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
6Beddeɣ ass-agi di ccṛeɛ axaṭer ssarmeɣ aț-țwakmel lemɛahda-nni i gefka Sidi Ṛebbi i lejdud-nneɣ.
6And now I stand to be judged because of the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,
7Tnac leɛṛac-nneɣ i gɛebden Ṛebbi am yiḍ am ass, țṛaǧun a d-taweḍ lemɛahda-agi i ssaramen. Ɣef wusirem-agi i ccetkan wat Isṛail fell-i.
7to which our whole twelve tribes serving incessantly day and night hope to arrive; about which hope, O king, I am accused of [the] Jews.
8Ay agellid Aɣribas, acuɣeṛ i tɣilem d lmuḥal a d-isseḥyu Sidi Ṛebbi lmegtin ?
8Why should it be judged a thing incredible in your sight if God raises the dead?
9Ma d nekkini, di tazwara ɛeṛdeɣ ad xaṣmeɣ s wayen yellan di tezmert-iw, isem-agi n Ɛisa Anaṣari ;
9*I* indeed myself thought that I ought to do much against the name of Jesus the Nazaraean.
10d ayen i xedmeɣ di temdint n Lquds, rriɣ aṭas imasiḥiyen ɣer lḥebs, yerna d lmuqedmin imeqqranen i yi-d-yefkan țesriḥ-agi. M'ara ḥekkmen fell-asen s lmut, nekkini qebbleɣ ;
10Which also I did in Jerusalem, and myself shut up in prisons many of the saints, having received the authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my vote.
11qehṛeɣ-ten acḥal d abrid si lǧameɛ ɣer wayeḍ, ḥeṛseɣ-ten ad ṭṭixṛen i webrid-agi n Ɛisa ; deg urrif-iw ameqqran, țṛuḥeɣ armi ț-țimdinin tibeṛṛaniyin iwakken a ten-qehhṛeɣ.
11And often punishing them in all the synagogues, I compelled them to blaspheme. And, being exceedingly furious against them, I persecuted them even to cities out [of our own land].
12Ɣef wannect-nni lmuqedmin imeqqranen fkan-iyi tazmert s wayes ṛuḥeɣ ɣer temdint n Dimecq.
12And when, [engaged] in this, I was journeying to Damascus, with authority and power from the chief priests,
13Taswiɛt kan di țnaṣfa wass ay agellid, walaɣ deg webrid yiwet n tafat i d-yekkan seg igenni, tețfeǧǧiǧ akteṛ n yiṭij, tezzi-yi-d i nekk akk-d wid yellan yid-i,
13at mid-day, on the way, I saw, O king, a light above the brightness of the sun, shining from heaven round about me and those who were journeying with me.
14neɣli akk ɣer lqaɛa. Sliɣ i ṣṣut i d-iqqaṛen s tmeslayt taɛibṛanit : A Caɛul, a Caɛul ! Acuɣeṛ i yi tețqehhiṛeḍ ? Yewɛeṛ fell-ak aț-țɛaṣiḍ inezlan.
14And, when we were all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [it is] hard for thee to kick against goads.
15Rriɣ-as : Anwa-k a Sidi ? Yenna-yi-d : Nekkini d Ɛisa-nni i tețqehhiṛeḍ ;
15And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, *I* am Jesus whom *thou* persecutest:
16kker fell-ak, bedd ɣef yidaṛṛen-ik, ḍehṛeɣ-ak-d iwakken a k-rreɣ d aqeddac-iw, d inigi ɣef wayen twalaḍ ass-agi d wayen ara k-d-sekneɣ sya d asawen.
16but rise up and stand on thy feet; for, for this purpose have I appeared to thee, to appoint thee to be a servant and a witness both of what thou hast seen, and of what I shall appear to thee in,
17Xtaṛeɣ-k-id si ger wat Isṛail akk-d leǧnas nniḍen uɣuṛ ara k ceggɛeɣ. A sen-teldiḍ allen
17taking thee out from among the people, and the nations, to whom *I* send thee,
18iwakken a d ffɣen si ṭṭlam ɣer tafat, si tezmert n Cciṭan ɣer tezmert n Ṛebbi, ad amnen yis-i, iwakken a sen-neɛfuɣ ddnubat-nsen, ad sɛun amkan ger wid i gextaṛ Sidi Ṛebbi.
18to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
19Daymi, ay agellid Aɣribas, ur ɛuṣaɣ ara aweḥḥi i yi-d-yusan seg igenni.
19Whereupon, king Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision;
20Bdiɣ abecceṛ di temdint n Dimecq akk-d ț-țemdint n Lquds, beccṛeɣ daɣen di tmurt n Yahuda meṛṛa, di taggara, beccṛeɣ i wat leǧnas ur nelli ara seg wat Isṛail, nhiɣ-ten ad tuben, a d-uɣalen ɣer webrid n Ṛebbi, ad xedmen lecɣal i d-ițbegginen belli tuben s wul-nsen.
20but have, first to those both in Damascus and Jerusalem, and to all the region of Judaea, and to the nations, announced that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
21Ɣef wannect-agi i yi-ṭṭfen wat Isṛail deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen, ɛeṛden ad iyi-nɣen.
21On account of these things the Jews, having seized me in the temple, attempted to lay hands on and destroy me.
22Lameɛna s lemɛawna n Sidi Ṛebbi, ddreɣ armi d ass-a, țbecciṛeɣ i yemdanen meṛṛa, ama d ameɣbun ama d ameṛkanti ; yerna ayen i d-qqaṛeɣ, d ayen akken i ɣef d-caren lenbiya akk-d Sidna Musa :
22Having therefore met with [the] help which is from God, I have stood firm unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying nothing else than those things which both the prophets and Moses have said should happen,
23yeɛni Lmasiḥ ad iɛteb, d nețța i d amezwaru ara d-iḥyun si ger lmegtin, ad ibecceṛ tafat i wegdud n wat Isṛail akk-d leǧnas nniḍen.
23[namely,] whether Christ should suffer; whether he first, through resurrection of [the] dead, should announce light both to the people and to the nations.
24Akken yella Bulus yețdafaɛ ɣef yiman-is, Fistus yenṭeq-ed s leɛyaḍ, yenna : Iffeɣ-ik leɛqel a Bulus ! Lketṛa n tmusni-inek tessufeɣ-ak leɛqel !
24And as he answered for his defence with these things, Festus says with a loud voice, Thou art mad, Paul; much learning turns thee to madness.
25Bulus yerra-yas : Ur iyi-iffiɣ ara leɛqel a Fistus ameqqran ! Ayen akka i d-qqaṛeɣ d imeslayen n tideț yesɛan ṣṣwab.
25But Paul said, I am not mad, most excellent Festus, but utter words of truth and soberness;
26Ula d agellid Aɣribas, yeɛlem s wayagi ; daymi i d-mmeslayeɣ zdat-es ɛinani, imi mačči s tuffra i gedṛa wannect-a.
26for the king is informed about these things, to whom also I speak with all freedom. For I am persuaded that of these things nothing is hidden from him; for this was not done in a corner.
27Ay agellid, tumneḍ s wayen i d-nnan lenbiya ? Sriɣ tumneḍ yis-sen !
27King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28Aɣribas yenna i Bulus : Lemmer a yi-d ternuḍ kra yimeslayen ahat ad iyi-tqenɛeḍ ad uɣaleɣ d amasiḥi !
28And Agrippa [said] to Paul, In a little thou persuadest me to become a Christian.
29Bulus yenna-yas : A wi-yufan a Ṛebbi, mačči d keččini kan, lameɛna ula d wid akk i yi-d-ismeḥsisen ass-agi, aț-țuɣalem am nekk tura neɣ deg ussan i d-iteddun, ḥaca snasel-agi i yi cudden !
29And Paul [said], I would to God, both in little and in much, that not only thou, but all who have heard me this day, should become such as *I* also am, except these bonds.
30Dɣa agellid Aɣribas, lḥakem Fistus, Birinis d wid akk yeqqimen yid-sen, kkren-d.
30And the king stood up, and the governor and Bernice, and those who sat with them,
31Mi kkren ad ṛuḥen, nnan wway gar-asen : Argaz-agi ur ixdim ula d acemma yuklalen lmut neɣ lḥebs.
31and having gone apart, they spoke to one another saying, This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
32Aɣribas yenna i Fistus : Argaz-agi izmer ad ițțuserreḥ lemmer ur yerẓi ara ccṛeɛ ɣer Qayṣer.
32And Agrippa said to Festus, This man might have been let go if he had not appealed to Caesar.
