1Book of the generation of Jesus Christ, Son of David, Son of Abraham.
2Sidna Ibṛahim yeǧǧa-d Isḥaq, Isḥaq yeǧǧa-d Yeɛqub, Yeɛqub yeǧǧa-d Yahuda d watmaten-is.
2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Juda and his brethren;
3Yahuda akk-d Tamaṛ ǧǧan-d Fares, akk-d Ziraḥ ; Fares yeǧǧa-d Ḥesrun, Ḥesrun yeǧǧa-d Aram.
3and Juda begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom, and Esrom begat Aram,
4Aram yeǧǧa-d Ɛaminadab, Ɛaminadab yeǧǧa-d Naḥsun, Naḥsun yeǧǧa-d Salmun.
4and Aram begat Aminadab, and Aminadab begat Naasson, and Naasson begat Salmon,
5Salmun d Raḥab ǧǧan-d Buɛaz, Buɛaz akk-d Rut sɛan-d Ɛubed, Ɛubed yeǧǧa-d Yassa.
5and Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse,
6Yassa yeǧǧa-d Sidna Dawed, Sidna Dawed yuɣal d agellid, yeǧǧa-d ɣer tmeṭṭut n Uryaḥ Sidna Sliman.
6and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon, of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
7Sidna Sliman yeǧǧa-d Raḥabɛam, Raḥabɛam yeǧǧa-d Abiya, Abiya yeǧǧa-d Asaf,
7and Solomon begat Roboam, and Roboam begat Abia, and Abia begat Asa,
8Asaf yeǧǧa-d Yehucafat ; Yehucafat yeǧǧa-d Yihuram ; Yihuram yeǧǧa-d Ɛuzya ;
8and Asa begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Ozias,
9Ɛuzya yeǧǧa-d Yuṭam ; Yuṭam yeǧǧa-d Aḥaz ; Aḥaz yeǧǧa-d Ḥizeqya ;
9and Ozias begat Joatham, and Joatham begat Achaz, and Achaz begat Ezekias,
10Ḥizeqya yeǧǧa-d Mennac ; Mennac yeǧǧa-d Ɛamun ; Ɛamun yeǧǧa-d Yuciya ;
10and Ezekias begat Manasses, and Manasses begat Amon, and Amon begat Josias,
11Yuciya yeǧǧa-d Yixunya akk-d watmaten-is, di lweqt i deg iqaldiyen wwin at Isṛail d imeḥbas ɣer tmurt n Babilun.
11and Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away of Babylon.
12Mbeɛd lweqt n usgiǧǧi ɣer tmurtn Babilun, Yixunya yeǧǧa-d Calatyel ; Calatyel yeǧǧa-d Zurubabil .
12And after the carrying away of Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel, and Salathiel begat Zorobabel,
13Zurubabil yeǧǧa-d Abihud. Abihud yeǧǧa-d Ilyaqim ; Ilyaqim yeǧǧa-d Ɛazuṛ ;
13and Zorobabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
14Ɛazuṛ yeǧǧa-d Saduq ; Saduq yeǧǧa-d Yaxin ; Yaxin yeǧǧa-d Ilihud.
14and Azor begat Sadoc, and Sadoc begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud,
15Ilhud yeǧǧa-d Ilɛazaṛ ; Ilɛazaṛ yeǧǧa-d Mattan ; Mattan yeǧǧa-d Yeɛqub.
15and Eliud begat Eliazar, and Eliazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
16Yeɛqub yeǧǧa-d Yusef, d Yusef agi i d argaz n Meryem i d-yeǧǧan Sidna Ɛisa i gețțusemman Lmasiḥ.
16and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17Si lweqt n Sidna Ibṛahim armi d lweqt n Sidna Dawed, ɛeddan ṛbeɛṭac n leǧyal. Ɛeddan daɣen ṛbeɛṭac n leǧyal si lweqt n Sidna Dawed armi d lweqt n usgiǧǧi ɣer tmurt n Babilun. Si lweqt-agi n usgiǧǧi armi d lweqt n Lmasiḥ ɛeddan daɣen ṛbeɛṭac n leǧyal.
17All the generations, therefore, from Abraham to David [were] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away of Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the carrying away of Babylon unto the Christ, fourteen generations.
18Atan wamek i d-ilul Sidna Ɛisa : yemma-s Meryem tella tețwaxḍeb i yiwen wergaz ițțusemman Yusef. S tezmert n Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen, terfed s tadist uqbel aț-țeddu ț-țislit.
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was thus: His mother, Mary, that is, having been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child of [the] Holy Spirit.
19Yusef axḍib-is, yellan d argaz n ṣṣwab, ur yebɣi ara a ț-țicemmet, dɣa yeqsed ad imsefṛaq yid-es s tuffra.
19But Joseph, her husband, being [a] righteous [man], and unwilling to expose her publicly, purposed to have put her away secretly;
20Akken yețxemmim i waya, yers-ed ɣuṛ-es lmelk n Ṛebbi di targit yenna-yas : A Yusef ! A mmi-s n Dawed ! Ur țțaggad ara aț-țesɛuḍ Meryem ț-țameṭṭut-ik, axaṭer llufan yellan di tɛebbuṭ-is, yusa-yas-d s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen.
20but while he pondered on these things, behold, an angel of [the] Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take to [thee] Mary, thy wife, for that which is begotten in her is of [the] Holy Spirit.
21A d-tesɛu aqcic, a s-tsemmiḍ Ɛisa, axaṭer d nețța ara iselken lumma-s si ddnubat-nsen.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for *he* shall save his people from their sins.
22Ayagi akk yedṛa iwakken ad ițwakemmel wayen i d-yenna Sidi Ṛebbi seg imi n nnbi Iceɛya :
22Now all this came to pass that that might be fulfilled which was spoken by [the] Lord, through the prophet, saying,
23Ațan tɛezrit aț-țerfed tadist, a d-tesɛu aqcic ad ițțusemmi Imanuwil yeɛni :« Ṛebbi yid-nneɣ.»
23Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is, being interpreted, 'God with us.'
24Mi i d-yuki Yusef, ixdem ayen i s-d-yenna lmelk n Sidi Ṛebbi, yeqbel Meryem aț-țili ț-țameṭṭut-is ; yewwi-ț-id ɣer wexxam-is.
24But Joseph, having awoke up from his sleep, did as the angel of [the] Lord had enjoined him, and took to [him] his wife,
25Meɛna ur ț-innul ara armi i d-tesɛa mmi-s iwumi isemma Ɛisa.
25and knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
