1Yiwen wass, Sidna Ɛisa yețẓalla deg yiwen wemkan. Mi gfukk, yiwen seg yinelmaden-is yenna-yas : A Sidi, selmed-aɣ amek ara neẓẓal akken yesselmed Yeḥya i yinelmaden-is.
1It happened, that when he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
2Yenna-yasen : M'ara tẓallem, init : A Baba Ṛebbi, isem-ik ad ițwaqeddes, lḥekma n tgeldit-ik a d-tas.
2He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3Yal ass efk-aɣ-d aɣṛum-nneɣ.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4Semmeḥ-aɣ ddnubat-nneɣ akken i nețsamaḥ ula d nukkni i wid i ɣ-ixedmen cceṛ, ur aɣ-țaǧǧa ara a neɣli deg wujeṛṛeb.
4 Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5Yenna-yasen daɣen : Ma yella yiwen deg-wen yesɛa aḥbib, iṛuḥ ɣuṛ-es di țnaṣfa n yiḍ a s-yini : « Ay aḥbib ṛḍel-iyi-d tlata teḥbulin n weɣṛum ,
5He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6atan yusa-yi-d yiwen weḥbib i geṭṭef webrid, ur sɛiɣ d acu ara s-d-sserseɣ. »
6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7Ma yerra-yas-d si zdaxel n wexxam : « Ur iyi-țɛețțib ara, tawwurt tsekkeṛ, nekk d warraw-iw aql-aɣ neṭṭes, ur zmireɣ ara a d-kkreɣ iwakken a k-d-fkeɣ aɣṛum. »
7 and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8A wen-d-iniɣ : ma yeɛdez ur yebɣi ara a d-yekker ɣuṛ-es ɣas akken d aḥbib-is, a d-ikker a s-d-yefk ayen akk i s-issuter axaṭer yusa-d ɣuṛ es di țnaṣfa n yiḍ yeṛṛez-as aqeṛṛuy-is.
8 I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9Ma d nekk nniɣ-awen : ssutret a wen-d-ițunefk, qellbet aț-țafem, sqerbebbet di tewwurt a wen-d-ldin.
9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10Axaṭer kra n win yessuturen a s-d ițunefk, win ițqelliben ad yaf, win yesṭebṭuben a s-d-ldin tawwurt.
10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11Anwa deg-wen ara yefken i mmi-s adɣaɣ ma yessuter-as aɣṛum ? Neɣ a s-yefk azrem ma yessuter-as aslem ?
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12Neɣ ma yessuter-as tamellalt a s-yefk tiɣirdemt ?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
13Ma yella kunwi yellan d imcumen tessnem aț-țefkem ayen yelhan i warraw-nwen, amek Baba-twen yellan deg igenni ur d-ițțak ara Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen i wid i s-t-issuturen ?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
14Yiwen wass ikker Sidna Ɛisa yessuffeɣ lǧen yesgugmen yiwen wergaz. Mi t-iffeɣ lǧen, argaz-nni yebda iheddeṛ ; lɣaci meṛṛa wehmen.
14He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. It happened, when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
15Lameɛna kra deg-sen nnan : « D Balzabul iḥekmen ɣef leǧnun i s-yefkan tazmert akken a ten issuffeɣ. »
15But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
16Kra nniḍen bɣan a t-jeṛṛben, ssutren-as yiwen n lbeṛhan ara d-yasen seg yigenni.
16Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17Sidna Ɛisa yessnen ixemmimen-nsen yenna yasen : Yal tagelda i deg ara țnaɣen imezdaɣ-is wway gar-asen tețțeddu ɣer nnger, ixxamen-is ad ɣlin.
17But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18Ma yella Cciṭan yețnaɣ d yiman-is amek ara tdum tgelda-s ? Teqqaṛem s Balzabul i ssufuɣeɣ leǧnun !
18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19Ma yella nekk s Balzabul i ten-ssufuɣeɣ, anwa ihi i sen-ițțaken tazmert i yinelmaden-nwen iwakken a ten-ssuffuɣen ? Daymi d nutni ara kkun-iḥasben.
19 But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges.
20Lameɛna ma yella s ufus n Ṛebbi i ten-ssuffuɣeɣ, ațan ihi tageldit n Ṛebbi tewweḍ-ed ɣuṛ-wen.
20 But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.
21Argaz iǧehden yesɛan leslaḥ, ițɛassan ɣef wexxam-is, ṛṛezq-is ad yili di laman.
21 “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22Ma yusa-d ɣuṛ-es yiwen iǧehden akteṛ-is iɣleb-it, a s-ikkes leslaḥ ɣef wacu yețkel, ad yernu ad ifṛeq i wiyaḍ ayen akk yesɛa.
22 But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
23Win ur nelli ara yid-i, d axṣim-iw ; win ur njemmeɛ ara yid-i, yețḍeggiɛ.
23 “He that is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
24M'ara yeffeɣ uṛuḥani seg yiwen wergaz, ad iṛuḥ ɣer yimukan yexlan akken ad iqelleb ɣef ṛṛaḥa. M'ur yufi ara, ad yini : « ad uɣaleɣ ɣer tnezduɣt-iw ansi i d-ffɣeɣ. »
24 The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
25M'ara yaweḍ ɣer tnezduɣt-nni, a ț-yaf zeddiget, tqeɛɛed ;
25 When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26imiren ad iṛuḥ a d-yawi sebɛa yiṛuḥaniyen nniḍen iweɛṛen akteṛ-is, ad kecmen ad zedɣen deg-s ; s wakka lḥala n wergaz-nni aț-țenṭeṛ akteṛ n tikkelt tamezwarut.
26 Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
27Mi d-yenna Sidna Ɛisa ayagi, yiwet n tmeṭṭut tenṭeq-ed s ṣṣut ɛlayen si ger n lɣaci tenna-yas : ?-țaseɛdit tmeṭṭut i k-id-yurwen, i k-issuṭṭḍen !
27It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
28Lameɛna nețța yerra-yas : Iseɛdiyen, d wid ismeḥsisen i wawal n Ṛebbi, yerna ḥerzen-t.
28But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
29Mi d-innejmaɛ ɣuṛ-es waṭas n lɣaci, Sidna Ɛisa yekker yenna-yasen : Lǧil-agi d lǧil amcum, yessutur lbeṛhan ! Ur as-d-ițunefkay ara lbeṛhan anagar win n nnbi Yunes !
29When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah, the prophet.
30Axaṭer akken yella nnbi Yunes d lbeṛhan i yimezdaɣ n temdint n Ninebi, ara yili Mmi-s n bunadem d lbeṛhan i lǧil-agi.
30 For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will also the Son of Man be to this generation.
31Ass n lḥisab tagellit n tmurt n usammer a d-tekker ɣer yemdanen n lǧil-agi a ten-tesseḍlem imi nețțat tusa-d seg yixef n ddunit iwakken aț-țsel i tmusni n ugellid Sliman. Atah yella gar-awen win yugaren agellid Sliman !
31 The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and will condemn them: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
32Ass n lḥisab a d-kkren daɣen imezdaɣ n temdint n Ninebi ɣer lǧil-agi a ten-sḍelmen, axaṭer nutni uɣalen-d ɣer webrid mi sen-ibecceṛ nnbi Yunes. Kunwi tesɛam dagi gar-awen win yugaren nnbi Yunes !
32 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
33Yiwen ur iceɛɛel taftilt iwakken a ț-iffer neɣ akken a ț-iɣumm s lḥila, lameɛna a ț-issers ɣef lmeṣbeḥ iwakken kra n win ara d-ikecmen ad iwali tafat.
33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34Tiṭ ț-țaftilt n wemdan. Ma yella tiṭ-ik tṣeḥḥa aț-țiliḍ di tafat, meɛna ma tedderɣel aț-țiliḍ di ṭṭlam.
34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35?ader ihi aț-țuɣal tafat yellan deg-k d ṭṭlam.
35 Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
36Ma telliḍ di tafat s lekmal-ik, ur yețțili ara deg-k ṭṭlam, aț-țiliḍ di tafat am teftilt m'ara d-cceɛceɛ fell-ak.
36 If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
37Mi gfukk Sidna Ɛisa ameslay, iɛreḍ-it yiwen wufarizi ɣeṛ imensi.
37Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the table.
38Afarizi-nni yewhem mi gwala Sidna Ɛisa ur issared ara uqbel ad yečč, akken tella di lɛadda-nsen.
38When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Kunwi s yifariziyen tessiridem taqbuct d uḍebṣi s wufella kan ma zdaxel n wulawen teččuṛem d ṭṭmeɛ akk-d ddɣel.
39The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40A wid iɣeflen ! Eɛni win i d ixelqen ayen yellan s wufella, mačči d nețța i d-ixelqen ayen n daxel ?
40 You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
41Fket lweɛda s wulawen-nwen, imiren kullec ad awen-yeṣfu.
41 But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
42A nnger-nwen ay ifariziyen ! Kunwi yețɛecciṛen nneɛneɛ d uwermi d wayen i d-ițemɣayen di tebḥirt, ma d lḥeqq d leḥmala n Sidi Ṛebbi tețțarram-ten ɣer deffir ; d annect-agi i gezwaren mbla ma tețțum ayen nniḍen.
42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and the love of God. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43A nnger-nwen ay ifariziyen ! Tḥemmlem imukan imezwura di leǧwameɛ, tḥemmlem ad țsellimen fell-awen yemdanen deg iberdan.
43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44A nnger-nwen, kunwi yecban iẓekwan i gɣumm wakal, ur d-nețban ara, ɛeffsen-ten yemdanen ur d-wwin s lexbaṛ.
44 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
45Yenṭeq yiwen lɛalem n ccariɛa, yenna-yas : A Sidi, atan tregmeḍ-aɣ ula d nukkni s wayen i d-tenniḍ akka !
45One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”
46Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : A nnger-nwen ula d kunwi a lɛulama n ccariɛa ! Tețɛebbim i wiyaḍ tiɛekkmin ẓẓayen, ma d kunwi ur tent-tețnalem ara ula s yiwen uḍaḍ.
46He said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47A tawaɣit-nwen ! Lejdud-nwen nɣan lenbiya, kunwi tbennum-asen iẓekwan.
47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48S wakka i d-tesbegnem belli tqeblem ayen i xedmen yerna tețkemmilem di tikli-nsen ; axaṭer nutni nɣan-ten, kunwi tbennum-asen iẓekwan.
48 So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49?ef wayagi Sidi Ṛebbi yeẓran kullec yenna : a sen-ceggɛeɣ lenbiya d ṛṛusul, kra a ten-nɣen kra a ten qehṛen.
49 Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50Daymi lǧil-agi ad ițțuḥaseb ɣef tazzla n yidammen n lenbiya seg wasmi i d-texleq ddunit ;
50 that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51seg yidammen n Habil mmi-s n Adem armi d idammen n Zakarya i nɣan ger udekkan n iseflawen d lǧameɛ iqedsen. Lǧil-agi ad ițțuḥaseb ɣef ayagi meṛṛa.
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52A tawaɣit-nwen a lɛulama n ccariɛa ! Teṭṭfem tasaruț n tmusni, ur tekcimem kunwi, ur teǧǧim ad kecmen wid yebɣan.
52 Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
53Mi geffeɣ Sidna Ɛisa, lɛulama n ccariɛa d ifariziyen ḥeṛsen-t iwakken a d-immeslay ɣef waṭas n tɣawsiwin nniḍen,
53As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;
54țqelliben amek ara t-id-sseɣlin deg wawal.
54lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
