¹다섯째 천사가 나팔을 불매 내가 보니 하늘에서 땅에 떨어진 별 하나가 있는데 저가 무저갱의 열쇠를 받았더라

¹The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.

²저가 무저갱을 여니 그 구멍에서 큰 풀무의 연기 같은 연기가 올라오매 해와 공기가 그 구멍의 연기로 인하여 어두워지며

²He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a TR adds “great” burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.

³또 황충이 연기 가운데로부터 땅위에 나오매 저희가 땅에 있는 전갈의 권세와 같은 권세를 받았더라

³Then out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

⁴저희에게 이르시되 `땅의 풀이나 푸른 것이나 각종 수목은 해하지 말고 오직 이마에 하나님의 인 맞지 아니한 사람들만 해하라' 하시더라

⁴They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don’t have God’s seal on their foreheads.

⁵그러나 그들을 죽이지는 못하게 하시고 다섯 달 동안 괴롭게만 하게 하시는데 그 괴롭게 함은 전갈이 사람을 쏠 때에 괴롭게 함과 같더라

⁵They were given power not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person.

⁶그 날에는 사람들이 죽기를 구하여도 얻지 못하고 죽고 싶으나 죽음이 저희를 피하리로다

⁶In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

⁷황충들의 모양은 전쟁을 위하여 예비한 말들 같고 그 머리에 금 같은 면류관 비슷한 것을 썼으며 그 얼굴은 사람의 얼굴 같고

⁷The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.

⁸또 여자의 머리털 같은 머리털이 있고 그 이는 사자의 이 같으며

⁸They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.

⁹또 철흉갑 같은 흉갑이 있고 그 날개들의 소리는 병거와 많은 말들이 전장으로 달려 들어가는 소리 같으며

⁹They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.

¹⁰또 전갈과 같은 꼬리와 쏘는 살이 있어 그 꼬리에는 다섯 달 동안 사람들을 해하는 권세가 있더라

¹⁰They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.

¹¹저희에게 임금이 있으니 무저갱의 사자라 히브리 음으로 이름은 아바돈이요 헬라 음으로 이름은 아볼루온이더라

¹¹They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is “Abaddon,” “Abaddon” is a Hebrew word that means ruin, destruction, or the place of destruction but in Greek, he has the name “Apollyon.” “Apollyon” means “Destroyer.”

¹²첫째 화는 지나갔으나 보라 아직도 이 후에 화 둘이 이르리로다

¹²The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.

¹³여섯째 천사가 나팔을 불매 내가 들으니 하나님 앞 금단 네 뿔에서 한 음성이 나서

¹³The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,

¹⁴나팔 가진 여섯째 천사에게 말하기를 `큰 강 유브라데에 결박한 네 천사를 놓아 주라' 하매

¹⁴saying to the sixth angel who had one trumpet, “Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”

¹⁵네 천사가 놓였으니 그들은 그 년,월,일,시에 이르러 사람 삼분의 일을 죽이기로 예비한 자들이더라

¹⁵The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.

¹⁶마병대의 수는 이만만이니 내가 그들의 수를 들었노라

¹⁶The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million literally, “ten thousands of ten thousands” . I heard the number of them.

¹⁷이같이 이상한 가운데 그 말들과 그 탄 자들을 보니 불빛과 자주빛과 유황빛 흉갑이 있고 또 말들의 머리는 사자 머리 같고 그 입에서는 불과 연기와 유황이 나오더라

¹⁷Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of lions. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.

¹⁸이 세 재앙 곧 저희 입에서 나오는 불과 연기와 유황을 인하여 사람 삼분의 일이 죽임을 당하니라

¹⁸By these three plagues were one third of mankind killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths.

¹⁹이 말들의 힘은 그 입과 그 꼬리에 있으니 그 꼬리는 뱀 같고 또 꼬리에 머리가 있어 이것으로 해하더라

¹⁹For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads, and with them they harm.

²⁰이 재앙에 죽지 않고 남은 사람들은 그 손으로 행하는 일을 회개치 아니하고 오히려 여러 귀신과 또는 보거나 듣거나 다니거나 하지 못하는 금,은,동과 목석의 우상에게 절하고

²⁰The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn’t worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk.

²¹또 그 살인과 복술과 음행과 도적질을 회개치 아니하더라

²¹They didn’t repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, The word for “sorceries” (pharmakeia) also implies the use of potions, poisons, and drugs nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.
