1Pirmąją savaitės dieną, vos brėkštant, jos atėjo prie kapo, nešdamos paruoštus tepalus.
1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2Jos rado akmenį nuritintą nuo kapo,
2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3o įėjusios vidun, neberado Viešpaties Jėzaus kūno.
3They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
4Moterys apstulbo ir nežinojo, ką daryti. Ir štai prie jų atsirado du vyrai spindinčiais drabužiais.
4It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5Jos išsigando ir nuleido akis, o tie vyrai tarė: “Kam ieškote gyvojo tarp mirusiųjų?
5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6Nėra Jo čia, Jis prisikėlė! Atsiminkite, ką Jis jums sakė, būdamas dar Galilėjoje:
6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
7‘Žmogaus Sūnus turi būti atiduotas į nusidėjėlių rankas ir nukryžiuotas, o trečią dieną prisikelti!’ ”
7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
8Tuomet jos prisiminė Jėzaus žodžius
8They remembered his words,
9ir, sugrįžusios nuo kapo, viską pranešė vienuolikai ir visiems kitiems.
9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.
10Tai buvo Marija Magdalietė, Joana, Jokūbo motina Marija ir kitos su jomis, kurios papasakojo tai apaštalams.
10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.
11Jų žodžiai jiems pasirodė esą tuščios šnekos, ir jie moterimis nepatikėjo.
11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
12Vis dėlto Petras pakilęs nubėgo prie kapo ir pasilenkęs pamatė tiktai drobules. Jis grįžo atgal, labai stebėdamasis tuo, kas atsitiko.
12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13Ir štai du iš jų tą pačią dieną keliavo į kaimą už šešiasdešimties stadijų nuo Jeruzalės, vadinamą Emausu.
13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia 60 stadia = about 11 kilometers or about 7 miles. from Jerusalem.
14Jie kalbėjosi apie visus tuos įvykius.
14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15Jiems taip besikalbant ir besvarstant, prisiartino pats Jėzus ir ėjo kartu.
15It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
16Jų akys buvo uždengtos, ir jie Jo neatpažino.
16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17O Jis paklausė jų: “Apie ką kalbatės, eidami nuliūdę?”
17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
18Vienas iš jų, vardu Kleopas, atsakė Jam: “Nejaugi Tu esi vienintelis ateivis Jeruzalėje ir nežinai, kas joje šiomis dienomis atsitiko?”
18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
19Jėzus paklausė: “O kas gi?” Jie tarė Jam: “Su Jėzumi iš Nazareto, kuris buvo pranašas, galingas darbais ir žodžiais Dievo ir visos tautos akyse.
19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20Aukštieji kunigai ir mūsų vadovai Jį pasmerkė mirti ir nukryžiavo.
20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21O mes vylėmės, kad Jis yra Tas, kuris atpirks Izraelį. Dabar po viso to jau trečia diena, kaip tai atsitiko.
21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24Kai kurie iš mūsiškių buvo nuėję prie kapo ir rado viską, kaip moterys sakė, bet Jo paties nematė”.
24Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
25Tada Jis jiems tarė: “O jūs, neišmanėliai! Kokios nerangios jūsų širdys tikėti tuo, ką yra skelbę pranašai!
25He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26Argi ne taip turėjo Kristus kentėti ir įeiti į savo šlovę?”
26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
27Ir, pradėjęs nuo Mozės, primindamas visus pranašus, Jis aiškino jiems, kas visuose Raštuose apie Jį pasakyta.
27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28Jie prisiartino prie kaimo, į kurį keliavo, ir Jis dėjosi einąs toliau.
28They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29Bet jie sulaikė Jį, sakydami: “Pasilik su mumis! Vakaras arti, diena jau baigiasi”. Jis užsuko ir pasiliko su jais.
29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
30Atsisėdęs su jais prie stalo, paėmė duoną, laimino, laužė ir davė jiems.
30It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.
31Tada jų akys atsivėrė, ir jie pažino Jėzų, bet Jis pranyko jiems iš akių.
31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
32O jie kalbėjo: “Argi mūsų širdys nedegė, kai Jis kelyje mums kalbėjo ir atvėrė Raštų prasmę?”
32They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
33Jie tuoj pat pakilo ir sugrįžo į Jeruzalę. Ten jie rado susirinkusius vienuolika ir kitus su jais,
33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34kurie tvirtino: “Viešpats tikrai prisikėlė ir pasirodė Simonui!”
34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35O jie papasakojo, kas jiems atsitiko kelyje ir kaip jie pažino Jėzų, kai Jis laužė duoną.
35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36Jiems apie tai bekalbant, Jis pats atsirado tarp jų ir tarė: “Ramybė jums!”
36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37Sutrikę ir išsigandę, jie tarėsi matą dvasią.
37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38O Jis paklausė: “Ko taip sutrikote? Kodėl jūsų širdyse kyla abejonės?
38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39Pasižiūrėkite į mano rankas ir kojas. Juk tai Aš pats! Palieskite mane ir įsitikinsite: dvasia juk neturi kūno nei kaulų, kaip matote mane turint”.
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40Tai taręs, Jis parodė jiems rankas ir kojas.
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41Jiems iš džiaugsmo vis dar netikint ir stebintis, Jėzus paklausė: “Ar turite čia ko nors valgyti?”
41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42Jie padavė Jam gabalą keptos žuvies ir korį medaus.
42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43Jis paėmė ir valgė jų akyse.
43He took them, and ate in front of them.
44Paskui Jėzus jiems tarė: “Ar ne tokie buvo mano žodžiai, kuriuos jums kalbėjau dar būdamas su jumis: turi išsipildyti visa, kas parašyta apie mane Mozės Įstatyme, Pranašuose ir Psalmėse”.
44He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45Tada Jis atvėrė jiems protą, kad jie suprastų Raštus,
45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46ir pasakė: “Parašyta, kad Kristus kentės ir trečią dieną prisikels iš numirusių
46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47ir, pradedant nuo Jeruzalės, Jo vardu visoms tautoms bus skelbiama atgaila ir nuodėmių atleidimas.
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48Jūs esate šių dalykų liudytojai.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49Ir štai Aš atsiųsiu jums savo Tėvo pažadą. Jūs pasilikite Jeruzalės mieste, kol būsite apgaubti jėga iš aukštybių”.
49 Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50Jėzus nusivedė juos iki Betanijos ir, iškėlęs rankas, palaimino juos.
50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51Laimindamas Jis atsiskyrė nuo jų ir buvo paimtas į dangų.
51It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.
52Jie pagarbino Jį ir, didelio džiaugsmo kupini, sugrįžo į Jeruzalę.
52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53Jie nuolat buvo šventykloje ir šlovino bei laimino Dievą. Amen.
53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
