¹Aoka izay andevo rehetra eo ambanin'ny zioga hanao ny tompony ho miendrika hohajaina tsara, mba tsy hitenenana ratsy ny anaran'Andriamanitra sy ny fampianarana. [Gr. hasiana blasfemia, izahao Mat. 9.3]

¹As many as are servants under a yoke, their own masters worthy of all honour let them reckon, that the name of God and the teaching may not be evil spoken of;

²Ary izay manana tompo mino dia aoka tsy hanao tsinontsinona azy, satria rahalahy izy; fa vao mainka tokony hotompoiny aza izy, satria mino sy malala ilay mpandray ny soa atao. Izany zavatra izany no ampianaro sy ananaro.

²and those having believing masters, let them not slight [them], because they are brethren, but rather let them serve, because they are stedfast and beloved, who of the benefit are partaking. These things be teaching and exhorting;

³if any one be teaching otherwise, and do not consent to sound words — those of our Lord Jesus Christ — and to the teaching according to piety,

⁴dia mieboebo foana izy ka tsy mahalala na inona na inona, fa adala amin'ny fiadian-kevitra sy ny fiadian-teny izay mahatonga fialonana, fifandirana, fanaratsiana, fiahiahian-dratsy, [ Gr. marary]

⁴he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and word-striving, out of which doth come envy, strife, evil-speakings, evil-surmisings,

⁵fifandirana lalandava, fanaon'ny olona vetaveta saina sady efa nialan'ny fahamarinana, manao ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra ho fahazoan-javatra.

⁵wranglings of men wholly corrupted in mind, and destitute of the truth, supposing the piety to be gain; depart from such;

⁶Fa misy tombony lehibe tokoa ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra omban'ny fianinana.

⁶but it is great gain — the piety with contentment;

⁷Fa tsy nitondra na inona na inona ho amin'izao tontolo izao isika, sady hita fa tsy hahatondra na inona na inona hiala. [ Na: satria]

⁷for nothing did we bring into the world — [it is] manifest that we are able to carry nothing out;

⁸Fa raha manan-kanina sy fitafiana isika, dia aoka hianina amin'izany.

⁸but having food and raiment — with these we shall suffice ourselves;

⁹Ary izay ta-hanan-karena dia latsaka amin'ny fakam-panahy sy ny fandrika ary ny filàna maro tsy misy antony sady mandratra, izay mandentika ny olona ao amin'ny fandringanana sy ny fahaverezana.

⁹and those wishing to be rich, do fall into temptation and a snare, and many desires, foolish and hurtful, that sink men into ruin and destruction,

¹⁰Fa ny fitiavam-bola no fototry ny ratsy rehetra, koa ny sasany izay fatra-pitady izany dia efa voavily niala tamin'ny finoana ka nanindrona ny tenany tamin'ny alahelo be.

¹⁰for a root of all the evils is the love of money, which certain longing for did go astray from the faith, and themselves did pierce through with many sorrows;

¹¹Fa ianao kosa, sy lehilahin'Andriamanitra, mandosira izany zavatra izany, ka miezaha mitady fahamarinana, toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra, finoana, fitiavana, faharetana, fahalemem-panahy.

¹¹and thou, O man of God, these things flee, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness;

¹²Miadia ny ady tsaran'ny finoana, hazòny ny fiainana mandrakizay; fa ho amin'izany no niantsoana anao koa sy nanaovanao ilay fanekena tsara teo imason'ny vavolombelona maro.

¹²be striving the good strife of the faith, be laying hold on the life age-during, to which also thou wast called, and didst profess the right profession before many witnesses.

¹³Izaho mananatra anao eo anatrehan'Andriamanitra, Izay mamelona ny zavatra rehetra, ary eo anatrehan'i Kristy Jesosy, Izay nanao ilay fanekena tsara teo anatrehan'i Pontio Pilato,

¹³I charge thee, before God, who is making all things alive, and of Christ Jesus, who did testify before Pontius Pilate the right profession,

¹⁴mba hotehirizinao tsy hanan-tsiny amam-pondro hatramin'ny fisehoan'i Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika izany didy izany;

¹⁴that thou keep the command unspotted, unblameable, till the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁵ny Andriana finaritra sady tokana, Mpanjakan'ny mpanjaka sy Tompon'ny tompo, no haneho izany amin'ny fotoany;

¹⁵which in His own times He shall shew — the blessed and only potentate, the King of the kings and Lord of the lords,

¹⁶Izy ihany no manana ny tsi-fahafatesana, mitoetra eo amin'ny mazava tsy azo hatonina, Izay tsy hitan'olona sady tsy hainy jerena; ho Azy anie ny voninahitra sy ny fanjakana mandrakizay. Amena.

¹⁶who only is having immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no one of men did see, nor is able to see, to whom [is] honour and might age-during! Amen.

¹⁷Anaro ny mpanankarena amin'izao fiainana ankehitriny izao mba tsy hiavonavona, na hatoky ny harena miovaova, fa Andriamanitra, Izay manome antsika malalaka ny zavatra rehetra mba hifaliantsika, [ Gr. fiovavovan'ny harena]

¹⁷Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; —

¹⁸mba hanao soa, mba hanan-karena amin'ny asa tsara, hazoto manome sy miantra,

¹⁸to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to impart, willing to communicate,

¹⁹ka dia hihary fanorenana tsara ho an'ny tenany ho amin'ny andro ho avy, mba hihazonany ny tena fiainana.

¹⁹treasuring up to themselves a right foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life age-during.

²⁰Ry Timoty, tehirizo ilay natolotra anao, ka mialà amin'ny fibedibedena foana sy ny fanoherana avy amin'izay atao hoe fahalalana, kanjo tsy izy,izay neken'ny sasany, ka nania tamin'ny finoana izy. Ho aminareo anie ny fahasoavana.

²⁰O Timotheus, the thing entrusted guard thou, avoiding the profane vain-words and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge,

²¹izay neken'ny sasany, ka nania tamin'ny finoana izy. Ho aminareo anie ny fahasoavana.

²¹which certain professing — concerning the faith did swerve; the grace [is] with you. Amen.
