Young`s Literal Translation

Daniel

5

1[Ny fanasana nataon'i Belsazara, sy ny sora-tanana niseho teo amin'ny rindrina] Belsazara mpanjaka nanao fanasana lehibe ho an'ny mpanolo-tsainy arivo lahy, ary teo anatrehan'ireny no nisotroany divay.
1Belshazzar the king hath made a great feast to a thousand of his great men, and before the thousand he is drinking wine;
2Nony efa nisotro divay Belsazara, dia nasainy nalaina ny fanaka volamena sy volafotsy izay nalain'i Nebokadnezara rainy avy tao amin'ny tempoly tany Jerosalema, mba hisotroan'ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanolotsainy sy ny vadiny mbamin'ny vaditsindranony.
2Belshazzar hath said — while tasting the wine — to bring in the vessels of gold and of silver that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple that [is] in Jerusalem, that drink with them may the king, and his great men, his wives, and his concubines.
3Dia nentiny ny fanaka volamena izay nalaina avy teo amin'ny tempolin'ny tranon'Andriamanitra tany Jerosalema, ary ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanolo-tsainy sy ny vadiny mbamin'ny vaditsindranony nisotro taminy.
3Then they have brought in the vessels of gold that had been taken out of the temple of the house of God that [is] in Jerusalem, and drunk with them have the king and his great men, his wives and his concubines;
4Eny, nisotro divay izy sady nankalaza ny andriamanitra volamena sy volafotsy sy varahina sy vy sy hazo ary vato.
4they have drunk wine, and have praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5Tamin'izay dia nisy rantsan- tànan'olona niseho ka nanoratra tandrifin'ny jiro tamin'ny lalotra sokay teo amin'ny rindrin'ny lapan'ny mpanjaka; ary ny mpanjaka nahita ilay rantsan-tanana nanoratra.
5In that hour come forth have fingers of a man`s hand, and they are writing over-against the candlestick, on the plaster of the wall of the king`s palace: and the king is seeing the extremity of the hand that is writing;
6Dia nivaloarika ny tarehin'ny mpanjaka, ary naharaiki-tahotra azy ny eritreriny, ka dia nivahavaha ny valahany, sady niady ny lohaliny.
6then the king`s countenance hath changed, and his thoughts do trouble him, and the joints of his loins are loosed, and his knees are smiting one against another.
7Dia niantso mafy ny mpanjaka hampiditra ny mpisikidy sy ny Kaldeana ary ny mpanandro. Ary ny mpanjaka niteny ka nanao tamin'ny olon-kendrin'i Babylona hoe: Na zovy na zovy no mahavaky io soratra io sady milaza ny heviny amiko dia hampiakanjoina volomparasy, sy hasiana rojo volamena ny vozony, ary ho isan'ny mpanapaka telo lahy amin'ny fanjakana izy.
7Call doth the king mightily, to bring up the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. Answered hath the king, and said to the wise men of Babylon, that, `Any man who doth read this writing, and its interpretation doth shew me, purple he putteth on, and a bracelet of gold [is] on his neck, and third in the kingdom he doth rule.`
8Dia niditra avokoa ny olon-kendrin'ny mpanjaka, nefa tsy nisy nahavaky ny soratra na nampahalala ny mpanjaka ny heviny.
8Then coming up are all the wise men of the king, and they are not able to read the writing, and the interpretation to make known to the king;
9Dia natahotra indrindra Belsazara mpanjaka, ka nivaloarika ny tarehiny, ary vaka terỳ ny mpanolo-tsainy.
9then the king Belshazzar is greatly troubled, and his countenance is changing in him, and his great men are perplexed.
10Ary ny renin'ny mpanjaka niditra tao amin'ny trano fanasana noho ny tenin'ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanolo-tsainy; dia niteny ny renin'ny mpanjaka ka nanao hoe: Ry mpanjaka ô, ho velona mandrakizay anie ianao, aoka tsy haharaiki-tahotra anao ny eritreritrao, na hivaloarika ny tarehinao.
10The queen, on account of the words of the king and his great men, to the banquet-house hath come up. Answered hath the queen, and said, `O king, to the ages live; let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor thy countenance be changed:
11Misy lehilahy ato amin'ny fanjakanao izay manana fanahin'ireo andriamanitra masina ao anatiny; ary fony fahavelon-drainao dia hita fa nisy fahazavan-tsaina sy fahalalana ary fahendrena tao aminy tahaka ny fahendren'ireo andriamanitra; ka nataon'i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka rainao, dia ny mpanjaka rainao, hoy izaho, ho lehiben'ny ombiasy sy ny mpisikidy sy ny Kaldeana ary ny mpanandro izy;
11there is a man in thy kingdom in whom [is] the spirit of the holy gods: and, in the days of thy father, light, and understanding, and wisdom — as the wisdom of the gods — was found in him; and king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, chief of the scribes, enchanters, Chaldeans, soothsayers, established him — thy father, O king —
12fa fanahy hendry sy fahalalana sy saina ary fahaiza-milaza nofy sy fanambarana teny sarotra sy fampisehoana hevitra miafina no hita tao amin'izany Daniela izany, izay nomen'ny mpanjaka anarana hoe Beltesazara, koa aoka hantsoina Daniela, fa holazainy ny hevitry ny teny.
12because that an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of enigmas, and loosing of knots was found in him, in Daniel, whose name the king made Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and the interpretation he doth show.`
13Dia nampidirina teo anatrehan'ny mpanjaka Daniela. Ary ny mpanjaka niteny ka nanao tamin'i Daniela hoe: Hianao mantsy no Daniela, ilay isan'ny babo avy amin'ny taranak'i Joda, izay nentin'ny mpanjaka raiko avy tany Joda.
13Then Daniel hath been caused to come up before the king; answered hath the king, and said to Daniel, `Thou art that Daniel who [art] of the sons of the Removed of Judah, whom the king my father brought in out of Judah?
14Efa reko ny aminao, fa ianao manana fanahin'ireo andriamanitra sady misy fahazavan-tsaina sy fahalalana ary fahendrena tsara hita ao aminao.
14And I have heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods [is] in thee, and light, and understanding, and excellent wisdom have been found in thee.
15Ary vao teo dia efa nampidirina teto anatrehako ny olon-kendry sy ny mpisikidy hamaky io soratra io sy hampahafantatra ahy ny heviny; fa tsy nahalaza ny hevitry ny teny izy;
15`And now, caused to come up before me have been the wise men, the enchanters, that this writing they may read, and its interpretation to cause me to know: and they are not able to shew the interpretation of the thing:
16ary efa reko ny aminao, fa ianao no mahalaza hevitra sy mahay mampiseho hevitra miafina; koa raha mahavaky ny soratra sy mampahafantatra ahy ny heviny ianao, dia hampiakanjoina volomparasy, sy hasiana rofo volamena ny vozonao, ary ho isan'ny mpanapaka telo lahy amin'ny fanjakana ianao.
16and I — I have heard of thee, that thou art able to give interpretations, and to loose knots: now, lo — thou art able to read the writing, and its interpretation to cause me to know — purple thou dost put on, and a bracelet of gold [is] on thy neck, and third in the kingdom thou dost rule.`
17Dia namaly Daniela ka nanao teo anatrehan'ny mpanjaka hoe: Aoka ihany ho anao ny fanomezanao, ary ny valim-pitianao omeo ny hafa; nefa hovakiko amin'ny mpanjaka ihany ny soratra, ary hampahafantariko azy ny heviny.
17Then hath Daniel answered and said before the king, `Thy gifts be to thyself, and thy fee to another give; nevertheless, the writing I do read to the king, and the interpretation I cause him to know;
18Ny aminao, ry mpanjaka ô, Andriamanitra Avo Indrindra efa nanome fanjakana sy fahalehibiazana sy voninahitra ary laza an'i Nebokadnezara rainao;
18thou, O king, God Most High, a kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and honour, gave to Nebuchadnezzar thy father:
19ary noho ny fahalehibiazana izay nomeny azy, ny fokom-pirenena sy ny firenena ary ny samy hafa fiteny rehetra dia nangovitra sy natahotra teo anatrehany; izay tiany hovonoina dia novonoiny; ary izay tiany hovelomina dia novelominy; ary izay tiany hasandratra dia nasandrany; ary izay tiany haetry dia naetriny.
19and because of the greatness that He gave to him, all peoples, nations, and languages were trembling and fearing before him: whom he willed he was slaying, and whom he willed he was keeping alive, and whom he willed he was raising up, and whom he willed he was making low;
20Fa nony niavonavona kosa ny fony, ary nikikitra tamin'ny fireharehana ny fanahiny, dia naetry niala tamin'ny seza fiandrianan'ny fanjakany izy, ary ny voninahiny nesorina taminy;
20and when his heart was high, and his spirit was strong to act proudly, he hath been caused to come down from the throne of his kingdom, and his glory they have caused to pass away from him,
21dia noroahina niala tamin'ny zanak'olombelona izy; ary ny fony natao tahaka ny an'ny biby, ary ny fonenany tany amin'ny boriki-dia, dia nampihinanina ahitra toy ny omby izy, ary kotsan'ny andon'ny lanitra ny tenany, ambara-pahafantany fa Andriamanitra Avo Indrindra no manapaka amin'ny fanjakan'ny olona, ary izay tiany no tendreny ho mpanjakany.
21and from the sons of men he is driven, and his heart with the beasts hath been like, and with the wild asses [is] his dwelling; the herb like oxen they cause him to eat, and by the dew of the heavens is his body wet, till that he hath known that God Most High is ruler in the kingdom of men, and whom He willeth He raiseth up over it.
22Ary ianao, ry Belsazara zanany, dia tsy mba nampietry ny fonao, na dia fantatrao aza izany rehetra izany;
22`And thou, his son, Belshazzar, hast not humbled thy heart, though all this thou hast known;
23fa niavonavona tamin'ny Tompon'ny lanitra ianao; ary ny fanaky ny tranon'Andriamanitra dia nentina eto anatrehanao, ary ianao sy ny mpanolo-tsainao sy ny vadinao mbamin'ny vaditsindranonao nisotro divay taminy; ary ianao nankalaza ny andriamanitra volafotsy sy volamena sy varahina sy vy sy hazo ary vato, izay tsy mahita, na mandre, na mahalala; fa Andriamanitra Izay mitana ny ainao sady Tompon'ny alehanao rehetra dia tsy mba nankalazainao.
23and against the Lord of the heavens thou hast lifted up thyself; and the vessels of His house they have brought in before thee, and thou, and thy great men, thy wives, and thy concubines, are drinking wine with them, and gods of silver, and of gold, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone, that are not seeing, nor hearing, nor knowing, thou hast praised: and the God in whose hand [is] thy breath, and all thy ways, Him thou hast not honoured.
24Ary noho izany dia Izy no nihavian'ilay rantsan-tanana, ka voasoratra ireo teny ireo.
24`Then from before Him sent is the extremity of the hand, and the writing is noted down;
25Ary ny teny voasoratra dia izao: Mene, Mene, Tekela, Oparesina.[Oparesina = sy Paresina]
25and this [is] the writing that is noted down: Numbered, Numbered, Weighed, and Divided.
26Izao no hevitry ny teny: Mene, voaisan'Andriamanitra ny nanjakanao ka taperiny amin'izao;
26This [is] the interpretation of the thing: Numbered — God hath numbered thy kingdom, and hath finished it.
27Tekela, efa voalanja tamin'ny mizana ianao ka, indro, latsa-danja;
27Weighed — Thou art weighed in the balances, and hast been found lacking.
28Paresa, zarazaraina ny fanjakanao ka omena ho an'ny Mediana sy ny Persiana.
28Divided — Divided is thy kingdom, and it hath been given to the Medes and Persians.`
29Ary Belsazara dia nanome teny, ka dia nampiakanjoina volomparasy Daniela, sady nasiana rojo volamena ny vozony, ary nisy niantso azy ho isan'ny mpanapaka telo lahy amin'ny fanjakana.Ary tamin'io alina io ihany dia novonoina Belsazara, mpanjakan'ny Kaldeana.
29Then hath Belshazzar said, and they have clothed Daniel with purple, and a bracelet of gold [is] on his neck, and they have proclaimed concerning him that he is the third ruler in the kingdom.
30Ary tamin'io alina io ihany dia novonoina Belsazara, mpanjakan'ny Kaldeana.
30In that night Belshazzar king of the Chaldeans is slain,
31and Darius the Mede hath received the kingdom, when a son of sixty and two years.
