¹[Ny nahaterahan'Isaka, sy ny nandroahana an'i Hagara mianaka] Ary Jehovah namangy an'i Saraha araka ilay efa nolazainy, ary dia nataon'i Jehovah tamin'i Saraha araka ilay efa noteneniny.

¹And Jehovah hath looked after Sarah as He hath said, and Jehovah doth to Sarah as He hath spoken;

²Dia nanan'anaka Saraha ka niteraka zazalahy tamin'i Abrahama, rehefa antitra izy, tamin'ny fotoana izay efa nolazain'Andriamanitra taminy.

²and Sarah conceiveth, and beareth a son to Abraham, to his old age, at the appointed time that God hath spoken of with him;

³Ary ny anaran'ny zanany izay teraka, ilay naterak'i Saraha taminy dia nataon'i Abrahama hoe Isaka.

³and Abraham calleth the name of his son who is born to him, whom Sarah hath born to him — Isaac;

⁴Dia noforan'i Abrahama Isaka zanany, rehefa teraka havaloana izy, araka izay efa nandidian'Andriamanitra azy.

⁴and Abraham circumciseth Isaac his son, [being] a son of eight days, as God hath commanded him.

⁵Ary efa zato taona Abrahama, raha niteraka an'i Isaka zanany izy.

⁵And Abraham [is] a son of a hundred years in Isaac his son being born to him,

⁶Ary hoy Saraha: Efa nampihomehezin'Andriamanitra aho; izay rehetra mandre dia hiara-mihomehy amiko.

⁶and Sarah saith, `God hath made laughter for me; every one who is hearing laugheth for me.`

⁷Ary hoy koa izy: Nampoizin'iza akory moa no hilaza amin'i Abrahama fa hampinono zaza Saraha? kanjo efa niteraka zazalahy taminy aho, rehefa antitra izy.

⁷She saith also, `Who hath said to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled sons, that I have born a son for his old age?`

⁸Ary rehefa lehibe ny zaza, dia notazana; ary Abrahama nanao fanasana lehibe tamin'ny andro nanotazana an'Isaka.

⁸And the lad groweth, and is weaned, and Abraham maketh a great banquet in the day of Isaac`s being weaned;

⁹Ary Saraha nahita fa nihomehy ny zanak'i Hagara Egyptiana, izay efa naterany tamin'i Abrahama.

⁹and Sarah seeth the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she hath borne to Abraham, mocking,

¹⁰Dia hoy izy tamin'i Abrahama: Roahy io andevovavy io sy ny zanany; fa ny zanak'io andevovavy io tsy hiray lova amin'ny zanako, dia amin'Isaka.

¹⁰and she saith to Abraham, `Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid hath no possession with my son — with Isaac.`

¹¹Fa ratsy teo imason'i Abrahama indrindra izany teny izany noho ny amin'ny zanany.

¹¹And the thing is very wrong in the eyes of Abraham, for his son`s sake;

¹²Ary hoy Andriamanitra tamin'i Abrahama: Aoka tsy ho ratsy eo imasonao ny amin'ny zaza sy ny andevovavinao; fa izay rehetra lazain'i Saraha aminao, dia ekeo ny teniny, fa avy amin'Isaka no hantsoina izay taranaka ho anao.

¹²and God saith unto Abraham, `Let it not be wrong in thine eyes because of the youth, and because of thy handmaid: all that Sarah saith unto thee — hearken to her voice, for in Isaac is a seed called to thee.

¹³Nefa ny zanaky ny andevovavy kosa dia hataoko ho firenena, satria terakao ihany izy.

¹³As to the son of the handmaid also, for a nation I set him, because he [is] thy seed.`

¹⁴Dia nifoha maraina koa Abrahama ka naka mofo sy siny hoditra iray feno rano, ary nomeny an'i Hagara ka napetrany teo an-tsorony ary natolony azy koa ny zaza, dia nampandehaniny izy mianaka; ary lasa nandeha izy ka nirenireny tany an-efitr'i Beri-sheba.

¹⁴And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and taketh bread, and a bottle of water, and giveth unto Hagar (placing [it] on her shoulder), also the lad, and sendeth her out; and she goeth on, and goeth astray in the wilderness of Beer-Sheba;

¹⁵Ary rehefa lany ny rano tao amin'ny siny hoditra, dia nariany teo ampototry ny hazo kely anankiray ny zaza.

¹⁵and the water is consumed from the bottle, and she placeth the lad under one of the shrubs.

¹⁶Dia lasa izy ka nipetraka terỳ lavidavitra tandrifiny, tokony ho tra-tsipìka; fa hoy izy: Aza mba ho hitako anie izay hahafatesan'ny zaza. Ary nipetraka tandrifiny izy, dia nanandratra ny feony nitomany.

¹⁶And she goeth and sitteth by herself over-against, afar off, about a bow-shot, for she said, `Let me not look on the death of the lad;` and she sitteth over-against, and lifteth up her voice, and weepeth.

¹⁷Ary ren'Andriamanitra ny feon'ny zaza, dia niantso an'i Hagara Ilay Anjelin'Andriamanitra tany an-danitra ka nanao taminy hoe : Inona izato manjo anao, ry Hagara ? Aza matahotra, fa efa ren'Andriamanitra ny feon'ny zaza eo amin'ny itoerany.

¹⁷And God heareth the voice of the youth; and the messenger of God calleth unto Hagar from the heavens, and saith to her, `What to thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the youth where he [is];

¹⁸Mitsa­ngana, areno ny zaza, ka tantano; fa hataoko firenena lehibe izy.

¹⁸rise, lift up the youth, and lay hold on him with thy hand, for for a great nation I set him.`

¹⁹Dia nampahiratin'Andriamanitra ny mason'i Hagara, ka nahita lavaka fantsakana izy; ary lasa izy, dia nameno rano ny siny hoditra ka nampisotro rano ny zaza.

¹⁹And God openeth her eyes, and she seeth a well of water, and she goeth and filleth the bottle [with] water, and causeth the youth to drink;

²⁰Ary nomban'Andriamanitra ny zaza. dia nitombo izy; ary nonina tany an-efitra izy ka nony efa lehibe dia tonga mpandefa tsipìka.

²⁰and God is with the youth, and he groweth, and dwelleth in the wilderness, and is an archer;

²¹Ary nonina tany an-efitra Parana izy ka nakan'ny reniny vady avy tany amin'ny tany Egypta izy.

²¹and he dwelleth in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother taketh for him a wife from the land of Egypt.

²²[Ny fanekena nataon'i Abrahama sy Abimeleka] Ary tamin'izany andro izany Abimeleka sy Pikola, komandin'ny miaramilany, dia niteny tamin'i Abrahama ka nanao hoe: Omban'Andriamanitra ianao amin'izay re­hetra ataonao;

²²And it cometh to pass at that time that Abimelech speaketh — Phichol also, head of his host — unto Abraham, saying, `God [is] with thee in all that thou art doing;

²³koa ankehitriny ianiano amin'Andriamanitra aho fa tsy hamitaka ahy na ny zanako na ny taranako ianao; fa araka ny soa izay efa nataoko taminao no mba ataovy amiko sy amin'ny tany izay ivahinianao.

²³and now, swear to me by God here: thou dost not lie to me, or to my continuator, or to my successor; according to the kindness which I have done with thee thou dost with me, and with the land in which thou hast sojourned.`

²⁴Ary hoy Abrahama: Hianiana ihany aho.

²⁴And Abraham saith, `I — I do swear.`

²⁵Ary Abrahama nananatra an'i Abimeleka noho ny lavaka fantsakana anankiray izay efa nalain'ny mpanompon'i Abimeleka an-keriny

²⁵And Abraham reasoned with Abimelech concerning the matter of a well of water which Abimelech`s servants have taken violently away,

²⁶Dia hoy Abimeleka: Tsy fantatro izay nanao izany; fa ianao tsy mbola nanambara tamiko, ary izaho koa tsy mba nahare, raha tsy vao izao.

²⁶and Abimelech saith, `I have not known who hath done this thing, and even thou didst not declare to me, and I also, I have not heard save to-day.`

²⁷Ary Abrahama naka ondry aman'osy sy omby. ka nomeny an'i Abimeleka; dia nanao fanekena izy roa lahy.

²⁷And Abraham taketh sheep and oxen, and giveth to Abimelech, and they make, both of them, a covenant;

²⁸Ary Abrahama nanokana ondrivavikely fito navahana tamin'ny ondry.

²⁸and Abraham setteth seven Lambs of the flock by themselves.

²⁹Ary hoy Abimeleka tamin'i Abrahama: Hatao inona ireo ondrivavy kely fito natokanao ireo?

²⁹And Abimelech saith unto Abraham, `What [are] they — these seven lambs which thou hast set by themselves?`

³⁰Ary hoy izy: Mba horaisinao avy amin'ny tanako ireo ondrivavy kely fito ireo ho vavolombelona amiko fa izaho nihady io lavaka fantsakana io.

³⁰And he saith, `For — the seven lambs thou dost accept from my hand, so that it becometh a witness for me that I have digged this well;`

³¹Izany no nanaovana io tany io hoe Beri-sheba; satria teo no nianianan'izy roa lahy.

³¹therefore hath he called that place `Beer-Sheba,` for there have both of them sworn.

³²Dia nanao fanekena tany Beri-sheba izy; ary dia niainga Abimeleka sy Pikola, komandin'ny miaramilany, ka niverina ho any amin'ny tanin'ny Filistina.

³²And they make a covenant in Beer-Sheba, and Abimelech riseth — Phichol also, head of his host — and they turn back unto the land of the Philistines;

³³Dia namboly hazo tamariska tany Beri-sheba Abrahama ka tao no niantsoany ny anaran'i Jehovah, dia Andriamanitra Mandrakizay.Ary Abrahama nivahiny elaela ihany tany amin'ny tanin'ny Filistina.

³³and [Abraham] planteth a tamarask in Beer-Sheba, and preacheth there in the name of Jehovah, God age-during;

³⁴Ary Abrahama nivahiny elaela ihany tany amin'ny tanin'ny Filistina.

³⁴and Abraham sojourneth in the land of the Philistines many days.
