¹So ermahne ich euch nun, ich, der Gebundene im Herrn, daß ihr würdig wandelt der Berufung, zu welcher ihr berufen worden seid,

³und fleißig seid, die Einheit des Geistes zu bewahren in dem Bande des Friedens:

⁴ein Leib und ein Geist, wie ihr auch berufen seid zu einer Hoffnung eurer Berufung;

⁵ein Herr, ein Glaube, eine Taufe;

⁶Kotahi Atua, ko te Matua o nga mea katoa, kei runga nei ia i nga mea katoa, puta noa ia i nga mea katoa, kei roto hoki i te katoa.

⁶ein Gott und Vater aller, über allen, durch alle und in allen.

⁷Kua oti ia te aroha noa te homai ki tenei, ki tenei, o tatou, i runga i te mehua o ta te Karaiti homaitanga.

⁷Jedem einzelnen von uns aber ist die Gnade gegeben nach dem Maß der Gabe Christi.

⁸Darum heißt es: «Er ist aufgefahren zur Höhe, hat Gefangene gemacht und den Menschen Gaben gegeben.»

¹⁶von welchem aus der ganze Leib, zusammengefügt und verbunden durch alle Gelenke, die einander Handreichung tun nach dem Maße der Leistungsfähigkeit jedes einzelnen Gliedes, das Wachstum des Leibes vollbringt, zur Auferbauung seiner selbst in Liebe.

²³dagegen euch im Geiste eures Gemüts erneuern lassen

²⁴und den neuen Menschen anziehen sollt, der nach Gott geschaffen ist in Gerechtigkeit und Heiligkeit der Wahrheit.

²⁵Darum leget die Lüge ab und redet die Wahrheit, ein jeder mit seinem Nächsten, denn wir sind untereinander Glieder.

²⁶Zürnet ihr, so sündiget nicht; die Sonne gehe nicht unter über eurem Zorn!

²⁸Wer gestohlen hat, der stehle nicht mehr, sondern bemühe sich vielmehr mit seinen Händen etwas Gutes zu erarbeiten, damit er dem Dürftigen etwas zu geben habe.

³¹Alle Bitterkeit und Grimm und Zorn und Geschrei und Lästerung sei ferne von euch samt aller Bosheit.

³²Seid aber gegeneinander freundlich, barmherzig, vergebet einander, gleichwie auch Gott in Christus euch vergeben hat.
