9(H44-10) Und doch hast du uns verworfen und zuschanden werden lassen und bist nicht ausgezogen mit unsern Heerscharen.
10Kua meinga matou kia hoki whakamuri mai i te hoariri; kei te pahua ano i etahi ma ratou te hunga e kino ana ki a matou.
10(H44-11) Du ließest uns zurückweichen vor dem Feind; und die uns hassen, haben sich Beute gemacht.
11Kua hoatu matou e koe, ano he hipi e kainga ana: kua marara ki roto ki nga tauiwi.
11(H44-12) Du gibst uns hin wie Schafe zum Fraße und zerstreust uns unter die Heiden.
12E hokona ana e koe tau iwi, a hore he utu: kahore hoki koe e whiwhi rawa i te utu mo ratou.
12(H44-13) Du verkaufst dein Volk um ein Spottgeld und verlangst nicht viel dafür!
13E meinga ana matou e koe hei tawainga ma o matou hoa kainga; hei whakahaweatanga, hei whakakatanga mai ma te hunga i tetahi taha, i tetahi taha o matou.
13(H44-14) Du setzest uns der Beschimpfung unserer Nachbarn aus, dem Hohn und Spott derer, die uns umgeben.
14E meinga ana matou e koe hei whakatauki ma nga tauiwi; hei rurutanga matenga ma nga iwi.
14(H44-15) Du machst uns zum Sprichwort unter den Heiden, daß die Völker den Kopf über uns schütteln.
15Kei mua tonu i ahau toku whakama; kua taupokina ahau e te pawera o toku mata;
15(H44-16) Alle Tage ist meine Schmach vor mir, und Scham bedeckt mein Angesicht

16(H44-17) wegen der Stimme des Spötters und Lästerers, wegen des Feindes, des Rachgierigen.
17¶ Kua pa katoa tenei ki a matou; heoi kahore matou i wareware ki a koe, kihai ano i teka ki tau kawenata.
17(H44-18) Dieses alles ist über uns gekommen; und doch haben wir deiner nicht vergessen, noch deinen Bund gebrochen.
18Kahore to matou ngakau i tahuri whakamuri; kihai ano o matou hikoinga i peka ke i tau ara;
18(H44-19) Unser Herz hat sich nicht zurückgewandt, noch sind unsre Schritte abgewichen von deinem Pfad,

19(H44-20) daß du uns zermalmtest am Orte der Schakale und uns mit Todesschatten bedecktest!

20(H44-21) Wenn wir des Namens unsres Gottes vergessen und unsre Hände zu einem fremden Gott ausgestreckt hätten,
21E kore ranei tenei e ata tirohia e te Atua? E matau ana hoki ia ki nga mea ngaro o te ngakau.
21(H44-22) würde Gott das nicht erforschen? Er kennt ja die Geheimnisse des Herzens.
22Mou nei hoki matou i patua ai i te ra roa nei: kiia iho matou he hipi e patua ana.
22(H44-23) So aber werden wir um deinetwillen alle Tage erwürgt und sind geachtet wie Schlachtschafe.
23E ara, he aha koe ka moe ai, e te Ariki? Whakatika, kaua matou e panga tonutia.
23(H44-24) Herr, erhebe dich! Warum schläfst du? Wache auf und verstoße uns nicht für immer!
24He aha koe ka huna ai i tou mata? ka wareware ai ki to matou mamae, ki to matou tukinotanga?
24(H44-25) Warum verbirgst du dein Angesicht und vergissest unsres Elendes und unsrer Bedrängnis?
25Kua piko nei hoki to matou wairua ki raro ki te puehu; piri rawa to matou kopu ki te whenua.
25(H44-26) Denn unsre Seele ist bis zum Staub gebeugt, und unser Leib klebt am Erdboden.
26E ara, hei awhina i a matou; kia mahara ki tou aroha, a hokona matou.
26(H44-27) Mache dich auf, uns zu helfen, und erlöse uns um deiner Gnade willen!
