1ദാവീദ് വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനും ആയപ്പോള് തന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവാക്കി.
1Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടി വരുത്തി,
2He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3ലേവ്യരില് മുപ്പതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടുള്ളവരെ എണ്ണി; ആളെണ്ണം പേരുപേരായി അവര് മുപ്പത്തെണ്ണായിരം ആയിരുന്നു.
3The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
4അവരില് ഇരുപത്തിനാലായിരം പേര് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ വേല നടത്തേണ്ടുന്നവരും ആറായിരംപേര് പ്രമാണികളും
4David said, “Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Yahweh; six thousand were officers and judges;
5ന്യായാധിപന്മാരും നാലായിരം പേര് വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരും നാലായിരംപേര് സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാവീദ് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ വാദ്യങ്ങളാല് യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നു;
5four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made, for giving praise.”
6ദാവീദ് അവരെ ലേവിപുത്രന്മാരായ ഗേര്ശോന് , കെഹാത്ത്, മെരാരി എന്നീ ക്രമപ്രകാരം ക്കുറുകളായി വിഭാഗിച്ചു.
6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7,8 ഗേര്ശോന്യര്ലദ്ദാന് , ശിമെയി. ലദ്ദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്തലവനായ യെഹീയേല്, സേഥാം, യോവേല് ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നുപേര്.
7Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
8ശിമെയിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ശെലോമീത്ത്, ഹസീയേല്, ഹാരാന് ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നുപേര്; ഇവര് ലദ്ദാന്റെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങള്ക്കു തലവന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു.
8The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9ശിമെയിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്യഹത്ത്, സീനാ, യെയൂശ്, ബെരീയാം; ഈ നാലുപേര് ശിമെയിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്.
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan.
10യഹത്ത് തലവനും സീനാ രണ്ടാമനും ആയിരുന്നു; യെയൂശിന്നും ബെരിയെക്കും അധികം പുത്രന്മാര് ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് ഏകപിതൃഭവനമായി എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
10The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
11കെഹാത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്അമ്രാം, യിസ്ഹാര്, ഹെബ്രോന് , ഉസ്സീയേല് ഇങ്ങനെ നാലുപേര്.
11Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.
12അമ്രാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്അഹരോന് , മോശെ; അഹരോനും പുത്രന്മാരും അതിവിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാനും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ധൂപംകാട്ടുവാനും അവന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്വാനും എപ്പോഴും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാനും സദാകാലത്തേക്കും വേര്തിരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13ദൈവപുരുഷനായ മോശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയോ ലേവിഗോത്രത്തില് എണ്ണിയിരുന്നു.
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
14മോശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഗേര്ശോം, എലീയേസെര്.
14But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
15ഗെര്ശോമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ശെബൂവേല് തലവനായിരുന്നു.
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16എലീയേസെരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്രെഹബ്യാവു തലവന് ; എലീയേസെരിന്നു വേറെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; എങ്കിലും രെഹബ്യാവിന്നു വളരെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
17യിസ്ഹാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ശെലോമീത്ത് തലവന് .
17The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18ഹെബ്രോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് യെരീയാവു തലവനും അമര്യ്യാവു രണ്ടാമനും യഹസീയേല് മൂന്നാമനും, യെക്കമെയാം നാലാമനും ആയിരുന്നു.
18The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
19ഉസ്സീയേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് മീഖാ തലവനും യിശ്ശീയാവു രണ്ടാമനും ആയിരുന്നു.
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20മെരാരിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് മഹ്ളി, മൂശി. മഹ്ളിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്എലെയാസാര്, കീശ്.
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21എലെയാസാര് മരിച്ചു; അവന്നു പുത്രിമാരല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; കീശിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് അവരെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തു.
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22മൂശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്മഹ്ളി, ഏദെര്, യെരേമോത്ത് ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു പേര്.
22Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
23ഇവര് കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആളെണ്ണം പേരുപേരായി എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടപ്രകാരം തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങള്ക്കു തലവന്മാരായ ലേവിപുത്രന്മാര്; അവര് ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷയില് വേല ചെയ്തുവന്നു.
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു സ്വസ്ഥത കൊടുത്തു യെരൂശലേമില് എന്നേക്കും വസിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
24These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from twenty years old and upward.
25ആകയാല് ലേവ്യര്ക്കും ഇനി തിരുനിവാസവും അതിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒന്നും ചുമപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്നു ദാവീദ് പറഞ്ഞു.
25For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
26ദാവീദിന്റെ അന്ത്യകല്പനകളാല് ലേവ്യരെ ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതല് മേലോട്ടു എണ്ണിയിരുന്നു.
26Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”
27അവരുടെ മുറയോ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കായി പ്രാകാരങ്ങളിലും അറകളിലും സകലവിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളെയും ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതിലും ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷയുടെ വേലെക്കു അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ സഹായിക്കുന്നതും
27For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
28കാഴ്ചയപ്പവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത ദോശകളായും ചട്ടിയില് ചുടുന്നതായും കുതിര്ക്കുംന്നതായും അര്പ്പിക്കുന്ന ഭോജനയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള നേരിയമാവും സകലവിധ പരിമാണവും അളവും നോക്കുന്നതും
28For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;
29രാവിലെയും വൈകുന്നേരവും യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തി സ്തുതിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരുങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നതും
29for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
30യഹോവേക്കു ശബ്ബത്തുകളിലും അമാവാസ്യകളിലും ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിരന്തരം അവയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്നനുസരണയായ സംഖ്യപ്രകാരം ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെ അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നതും
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
31സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ കാര്യവും വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ കാര്യവും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷയില് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കാര്യവും വിചാരിക്കുന്നതും തന്നെ.
31and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;
32and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Yahweh.
