1അരാമും യിസ്രായേലും മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം തമ്മില് യുദ്ധം കൂടാതെ പാര്ത്തു.
1They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
2മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിലോ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.
2It happened in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്ത് നമുക്കുള്ളതെന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവോ? നാം അതിനെ അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു പിടിക്കാതെ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3The king of Israel said to his servants, “You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we are still, and don’t take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?”
4അവന് യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടുനീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഗിലെയാദിലെരാമോത്തില് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോരുമോ? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിനോടുഞാനും നീയും എന്റെ ജനവും നിന്റെ ജനവും എന്റെ കുതിരകളും നിന്റെ കുതിരകളും ഒരുപോലെയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4He said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”
5എന്നാല് യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിനോടുഇന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിച്ചാലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh.”
6അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു ഏകദേശം നാനൂറു പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി അവരോടുഞാന് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകയോ പോകാതിരിക്കയോ എന്തു വേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവര് പുറപ്പെടുക; കര്ത്താവു അതു രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
6Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
7എന്നാല് യെഹോശാഫാത്ത്നാം അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവാചകനായിട്ടു ഇവിടെ ഇനി ആരും ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
7But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”
8അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടുനാം യഹോവയോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഇനി യിമ്ളയുടെ മകനായ മീഖായാവു എന്നൊരുത്തന് ഉണ്ടു. എന്നാല് അവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഗണമല്ല ദോഷം തന്നേ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു അവനോടു ഇഷ്ടമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. രാജാവു അങ്ങനെ പറയരുതേ എന്നു യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് പറഞ്ഞു.
8The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
9അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു ഒരു ഷണ്ഡനെ വിളിച്ചു, യിമ്ളയുടെ മകനായ മീഖായാവെ വേഗത്തില് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.
9Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah.”
10യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തും രാജവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു ശമര്യയുടെ പടിവാതില് പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കല് ഒരു വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ സന്നിധിയില് പ്രവചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
10Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
11കെനയനയുടെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു തനിക്കു ഇരിമ്പു കൊണ്ടു കൊമ്പു ഉണ്ടാക്കിഇവകൊണ്ടു നീ അരാമ്യരെ അവര് ഒടുങ്ങുംവരെ കുത്തിക്കളയും എന്നിപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
12പ്രവാചകന്മാരൊക്കെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ പ്രവചിച്ചുഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെടുക; നീ കൃതാര്ത്ഥനാകും; യഹോവ അതു രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
13മീഖായാവെ വിളിപ്പാന് പോയ ദൂതന് അവനോടുനോകൂ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കുകള് ഒരുപോലെ രാജാവിന്നു ഗുണമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വാക്കും അവരില് ഒരുത്തന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കേണം; നീയും ഗുണമായി പറയേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”
14അതിന്നു മീഖായാവുയഹോവയാണ, യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു തന്നേ ഞാന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”
15അവന് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള് രാജാവു അവനോടുമീഖായാവേ, ഞങ്ങള് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകയോ പോകാതിരിക്കയോ എന്തു വേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവന് പുറപ്പെടുവിന് ; നിങ്ങള് കൃതാര്ത്ഥരാകും; യഹോവ അതു രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?” He answered him, “Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
16രാജാവു അവനോടുനീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് സത്യമല്ലാതെ യാതൊന്നും എന്നോടു പറയരുതെന്നും എത്ര പ്രാവശ്യം ഞാന് നിന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു പറയേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
16The king said to him, “How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”
17അതിന്നു അവന് ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ യിസ്രായേല് ഒക്കെയും പര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് ചിതറിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു; അപ്പോള് യഹോവഇവര്ക്കും നാഥനില്ല; അവര് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
18അപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടുഇവന് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷമല്ലാതെ ഗുണം പ്രവചിക്കയില്ലെന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
18The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
19അതിന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നാല് നീ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്ക്കയഹോവ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നതും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ സൈന്യം ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വലത്തും ഇടത്തും നിലക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് കണ്ടു.
19Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of Yahweh. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20ആഹാബ് ചെന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തില്വെച്ചു പട്ടുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ ആര് വശീകരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഒരുത്തന് ഇങ്ങനെയും ഒരുത്തന് അങ്ങനെയും പറഞ്ഞു.
20Yahweh said, ‘Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One said one thing; and another said another.
21എന്നാറെ ഒരു ആത്മാവു മുമ്പോട്ടു വന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിന്നുഞാന് അവനെ വശീകരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21A spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’
22ഏതിനാല് എന്നു യഹോവ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവന്റെ സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വായില് ഭോഷ്കിന്റെ ആത്മാവായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ അവനെ വശീകരിക്കും, നിനക്കും സാധിക്കും; നീ ചെന്നു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്ക എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു.
22Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’ He said, ‘I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ He said, ‘You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.’
23ആകയാല് ഇതാ, യഹോവ ഭോഷ്കിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ നിന്റെ ഈ സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വായില് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു അനര്ത്ഥം കല്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
24അപ്പോള് കെനയനയുടെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു അടുത്തുചെന്നു മീഖായാവിന്റെ ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിച്ചുനിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്വാന് യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു എന്നെ വിട്ടു ഏതു വഴിയായി കടന്നുവന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
24Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?”
25അതിന്നു മീഖായാവുനീ ഒളിപ്പാനായിട്ടു അറ തേടി നടക്കുന്ന ദിവസത്തില് നീ കാണും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
26അപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞതുമീഖായാവെ പിടിച്ചു നഗരാധിപതിയായ ആമോന്റെയും രാജകുമാരനായ യോവാശിന്റെയും അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു ഇവനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് ആക്കി,
26The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son.
27ഞാന് സമാധാനത്തോടെ വരുവോളം ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ അപ്പവും ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ വെള്ളവും കൊടുത്തു പോഷിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറക.
27Say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”
28അതിന്നു മീഖായാവുനീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവരുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില് യഹോവ എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സകലജാതികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.
28Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, all you people!”
29അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തും ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
29So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
30യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടുഞാന് വേഷംമാറി പടയില് കടക്കും; നീയോ രാജവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചുകൊള്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു വോഷംമാറി പടയില് കടന്നു.
30The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” The king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
31എന്നാല് അരാംരാജാവു തന്റെ മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടു രഥനായകന്മാരോടുനിങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവിനോടു മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ചെറിയവരോടോ വലിയവരോടോ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.
31Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.
32ആകയാല് രഥനായകന്മാര് യെഹോശാഥാത്തിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്ഇവന് തന്നേ യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനോടു പൊരുതുവാന് തിരിഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് നിലവിളിച്ചു.
32It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, “Surely that is the king of Israel!” and they turned aside to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
33അവന് യിസ്രായേല്രാജവല്ല എന്നു രഥനായകന്മാര് കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി പോന്നു.
33It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
34എന്നാല് ഒരുത്തന് യദൃച്ഛയാ വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിനെ കവചത്തിന്നും പതക്കത്തിന്നും ഇടെക്കു എയ്തു; അവന് തന്റെ സാരഥിയോടുനിന്റെ കൈ തിരിച്ചു എന്നെ പടയില് നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോക; ഞാന് കഠിനമായി മുറിവേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn your hand, and carry me out of the battle; for I am severely wounded.”
35അന്നു പട കഠിനമായി തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു രാജാവു അരാമ്യര്ക്കും എതിരെ രഥത്തില് നിവിര്ന്നുനിന്നു; സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു അവന് മരിച്ചുപോയി. മുറിവില്നിന്നു രക്തം രഥത്തിന്നകത്തു ഒഴുകിയിരുന്നു.
35The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
36സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കും താന്താന്റെ ദേശത്തേക്കും പോകട്ടെ എന്നു പാളയത്തില് ഒരു പരസ്യം പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
36A cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”
37അങ്ങനെ രാജാവു മരിച്ചു; അവനെ ശമര്യയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവര് രാജാവിനെ ശമര്യയില് അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
37So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38രഥം ശമര്യയിലെ കുളത്തില് കഴുകിയപ്പോള് യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന വചനപ്രകാരം നായ്ക്കള് അവന്റെ രക്തം നക്കി; വേശ്യാസ്ത്രീകളും അവിടെ കുളിച്ചു.
38They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves; according to the word of Yahweh which he spoke.
39ആഹാബിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന് ആനക്കൊമ്പുകൊണ്ടു പണിത അരമനയുടെയും അവന് പണിത എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെയും വിവരവും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
39Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40ആഹാബ് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മകനായ അഹസ്യാവു അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.
40So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
41ആസയുടെ മകനായ യഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ആഹാബിന്റെ നാലാം ആണ്ടില് യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായി.
41Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
42യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു മുപ്പത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു അസൂബാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് ശില്ഹിയുടെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.
42Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആസയുടെ എല്ലാവഴിയിലും നടന്നു; അതു വിട്ടുമാറാതെ യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായതു ചെയ്തു. പൂജാഗിരികള്ക്കുമാത്രം നീക്കം വന്നില്ല; ജനം പൂജാഗിരികളില് യാഗം കഴിക്കയും ധൂപം കാട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.
43He walked in all the way of Asa his father; He didn’t turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh: however the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
44യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവിനോടു സഖ്യത ചെയ്തു.
44Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
45യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന് ചെയ്ത യുദ്ധവും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
45Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആസയുടെ കാലത്തു ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരെ അവന് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
46The remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
47ആ കാലത്തു എദോമില് രാജാവില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ദേശാധിപതി രാജസ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചു.
47There was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
48ഔഫീരില് പൊന്നിന്നു പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് തര്ശീശ് കപ്പലുകളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; എന്നാല് കപ്പലുകള് എസ്യോന് -ഗേബരല്വെച്ചു ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു അവേക്കു പോകുവാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
48Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they didn’t go; for the ships were broken at Ezion Geber.
49അന്നേരം ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ അഹസ്യാവു യെഹോശാഫാത്തിനോടുഎന്റെ ദാസന്മാര് നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കപ്പലുകളില് പോരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്നു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു.
49Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.” But Jehoshaphat would not.
50യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കൂടെ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോരാം അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.
50Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
51ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ അഹസ്യാവു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ പതിനേഴാം ആണ്ടില് ശമര്യയില് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി; യിസ്രായേലില് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു.
51Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
52അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വഴിയിലും അമ്മയുടെ വഴിയിലും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ച നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയിലും നടന്നു യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.
52He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
53അവന് ബാലിനെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചു; തന്റെ അപ്പന് ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു.
53He served Baal, and worshiped him, and provoked to anger Yahweh, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
