1പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതിനാല് പ്രയോജനമില്ല എങ്കിലും അതു ആവശ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദര്ശനങ്ങളെയും വെളിപ്പാടുകളെയും കുറിച്ചു പറവാന് പോകുന്നു.
1It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. For I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാന് അറിയുന്നുഅവന് പതിന്നാലു സംവത്സരം മുമ്പെ മൂന്നാം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തോളം എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ശരീരത്തോടെയോ എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല, ശരീരം കൂടാതെയോ എന്നുമറിയുന്നില്ല; ദൈവം അറിയുന്നു.
2I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I don’t know, or whether out of the body, I don’t know; God knows), such a one caught up into the third heaven.
3ആ മനുഷ്യന് പരദീസയോളം എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ശരീരത്തോടെയോ ശരീരം കൂടാതെയോ എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ദൈവം അറിയുന്നു.
3I know such a man (whether in the body, or outside of the body, I don’t know; God knows),
4മനുഷ്യന്നു ഉച്ചരിപ്പാന് പാടില്ലാത്തതും പറഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്തതുമായ വാക്കുകളെ അവന് കേട്ടു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.
4how he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
5അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് പ്രശംസിക്കും; എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചോ എന്റെ ബലഹീനതകളില് അല്ലാതെ ഞാന് പ്രശംസിക്കയില്ല.
5On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in my weaknesses.
6ഞാന് പ്രശംസിപ്പാന് വിചാരിച്ചാലും മൂഢനാകയില്ല; സത്യമല്ലോ പറയുന്നതു; എങ്കിലും എന്നെ കാണുന്നതിനും എന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നതിനും മീതെ ആരും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു എന്നുവെച്ചു ഞാന് അടങ്ങുന്നു.
6For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me, or hears from me.
7വെളിപ്പാടുകളുടെ ആധിക്യത്താല് ഞാന് അതിയായി നിഗളിച്ചുപോകാതിരിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു ജഡത്തില് ഒരു ശൂലം തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് നിഗളിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ കുത്തുവാന് സാത്താന്റെ ദൂതനെ തന്നേ.
7By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively.
8അതു എന്നെ വിട്ടു നീങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് മൂന്നു വട്ടം കര്ത്താവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
8Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9അവന് എന്നോടുഎന്റെ കൃപ നിനക്കുമതി; എന്റെ ശക്തി ബലഹീനതയില് തികഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആകയാല് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശക്തി എന്റെമേല് ആവസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അതിസന്തോഷത്തോടെ എന്റെ ബലഹീനതകളില് പ്രശംസിക്കും.
9He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.
10അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു വേണ്ടി ബലഹീനത, കയ്യേറ്റം, ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു, ഉപദ്രവം, ഞെരുക്കം എന്നിവ സഹിപ്പാന് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; ബലഹീനനായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ ഞാന് ശക്തനാകുന്നു.
10Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
11ഞാന് മൂഢനായിപ്പോയി; നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ നിര്ബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു; നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ ശ്ളാഘിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് ഏതുമില്ല എങ്കിലും അതിശ്രേഷ്ഠതയുള്ള അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരില് ഒട്ടും കുറഞ്ഞവനല്ല.
11I have become foolish in boasting. You compelled me, for I ought to have been commended by you, for in nothing was I inferior to the very best apostles, though I am nothing.
12അപ്പൊസ്തലന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങള് പൂര്ണ്ണ സഹിഷ്ണുതയിലും അടയാളങ്ങളാലും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളാലും വീര്യ്യപ്രവൃത്തികളാലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ.
12Truly the signs of an apostle were worked among you in all patience, in signs and wonders and mighty works.
13ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാരമായിത്തീര്ന്നില്ല എന്നുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ശേഷം സഭകളെക്കാള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഏതൊന്നില് കുറവു വന്നു? ഈ അന്യായം ക്ഷമിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .
13For what is there in which you were made inferior to the rest of the assemblies, unless it is that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong.
14ഈ മൂന്നാം പ്രാവശ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് ഞാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാരമായിത്തീരുകയുമില്ല; നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളതിനെയല്ല നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ഞാന് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മക്കള് അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്ക്കല്ല അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര് മക്കള്ക്കായിട്ടല്ലോ ചരതിക്കേണ്ടതു.
14Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I seek not your possessions, but you. For the children ought not to save up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
15ഞാന് അതിസന്തോഷത്തോടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി ചെലവിടുകയും ചെലവായ്പോകയും ചെയ്യും. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ അധികമായി സ്നേഹിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ അല്പമായി സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവോ?
15I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
16ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാരമായിത്തീര്ന്നില്ല എങ്കിലും ഉപായിയാകയാല് കൌശലംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കി എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുമായിരിക്കും.
16But be it so, I did not myself burden you. But, being crafty, I caught you with deception.
17ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചവരില് വല്ലവനെക്കൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളോടു വല്ലതും വഞ്ചിച്ചെടുത്തുവോ?
17Did I take advantage of you by anyone of them whom I have sent to you?
19ഇത്രനേരം ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രതിവാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നുന്നുവോ? ദൈവത്തിന് മുമ്പാകെ ക്രിസ്തുവില് ആകുന്നു ഞങ്ങള് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു; പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, സകലവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മീകവര്ദ്ധനെക്കായിട്ടത്രേ.
18I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? Didn’t we walk in the same spirit? Didn’t we walk in the same steps?
20ഞാന് വരുമ്പോള് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കാത്തവിധത്തില് നിങ്ങളെ കാണുകയും നിങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കാത്ത വിധത്തില് എന്നെ കാണുകയും ചെയ്യുമോ എന്നും പിണക്കം, ഈര്ഷ്യ, ക്രോധം, ശാഠ്യം, ഏഷണി, കുശുകുശുപ്പു, നിഗളം, കലഹം എന്നിവ ഉണ്ടാകുമോ എന്നും
19Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.
21ഞാന് വീണ്ടും വരുമ്പോള് എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് താഴ്ത്തുവാനും പാപംചെയ്തിട്ടു തങ്ങള് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച അശുദ്ധി, ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു, ദുഷ്കാമം എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാത്ത പലരെയും ചൊല്ലി ഖേദിപ്പാനും സംഗതിവരുമോ എന്നും ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.
20For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don’t desire; that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, riots;
21that again when I come my God would humble me before you, and I would mourn for many of those who have sinned before now, and not repented of the uncleanness and sexual immorality and lustfulness which they committed.
