1ഇക്കോന്യയില്‍ അവര്‍ ഒരുമിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയില്‍ ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും യവനന്മാരിലും വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം വിശ്വസിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം സംസാരിച്ചു.
1It happened in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
2വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ജാതികളുടെ മനസ്സു സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നേരെ ഇളക്കി വഷളാക്കി.
2But the disbelieving or, disobedient Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.
3എന്നാല്‍ അവര്‍ വളരെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്‍ത്തു, കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ ആശ്രയിച്ചു പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവന്‍ തന്റെ കൃപയുടെ വചനത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിനിന്നു, അവരുടെ കയ്യാല്‍ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുവാന്‍ വരം നല്കി.
3Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4എന്നാല്‍ പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനസമൂഹം ഭിന്നിച്ചു ചിലര്‍ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷത്തിലും ആയി.
4But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5അവരെ അവമാനിപ്പാനും കല്ലെറിവാനും ജാതികളും യെഹൂദന്മാരും അവിടത്തെ പ്രമാണികളോടുകൂടി ഒരു ആക്രമം ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു ലുസ്ത്ര,
5When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,
6ദെര്‍ബ്ബ ഇന്ന ലുക്കവോന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശത്തിലേക്കും
6they became aware of it, and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.
7ഔടിപ്പോയി അവിടെ സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുപോന്നു.
7There they preached the Good News.
8ലുസ്ത്രയില്‍ അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്‍ഭംമുതല്‍ മുടന്തനായി ഒരിക്കലും നടന്നിട്ടില്ലാതെയും കാലിന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയും ഉള്ളോരു പുരുഷന്‍ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.
8At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
9അവന്‍ പൊലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു; അവന്‍ അവനെ ഉറ്റു നോക്കി, സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിപ്പാന്‍ അവന്നു വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടു എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു
9He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
10നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാലൂന്നി നിവിര്‍ന്നുനില്‍ക്ക എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു; അവന്‍ കുതിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റു നടന്നു
10said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” He leaped up and walked.
11പൌലൊസ് ചെയ്തതു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടുദേവന്മാര്‍ മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തില്‍ നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലുക്കവോന്യഭാഷയില്‍ നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
11When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”
12ബര്‍ന്നബാസിന്നു ഇന്ദ്രന്‍ എന്നും പൌലൊസ് മുഖ്യപ്രസംഗിയാകയാല്‍ അവന്നു ബുധന്‍ എന്നു പേര്‍വിളിച്ചു.
12They called Barnabas “Jupiter,” and Paul “Mercury,” because he was the chief speaker.
13പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള ഇന്ദ്രക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന്‍ കാളകളെയും പൂമാലകളെയും ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തോടുകൂടെ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാന്‍ ഭാവിച്ചു.
13The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes.
14ഇതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ബര്‍ന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും കേട്ടിട്ടു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു
14But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes, and sprang into the multitude, crying out,
15പുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു സമസ്വഭാവമുള്ള മനുഷ്യര്‍ അത്രെ; നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ വ്യര്‍ത്ഥകാര്യങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു, ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണം എന്നുള്ള സുവിശേഷം ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.
15“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;
16കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലങ്ങളില്‍ അവന്‍ സകലജാതികളെയും സ്വന്ത വഴികളില്‍ നടപ്പാന്‍ സമ്മതിച്ചു.
16who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.
17എങ്കിലും അവന്‍ നന്മചെയ്കയും ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു മഴയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള കാലങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തരികയും ആഹാരവും സന്തോഷവും നല്കി നിങ്ങളെ തൃപ്തരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നതിനാല്‍ തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം തരാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.
17Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you TR reads “us” instead of “you” rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
18അവര്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങള്‍ക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാതവണ്ണം പുരുഷാരത്തെ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തടുത്തു.
18Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them.
19എന്നാല്‍ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്‍ നിന്നും ഇക്കോന്യയില്‍ നിന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര്‍ വന്നു കൂടി പുരുഷാരത്തെ വശത്താക്കി പൌലൊസിനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു; അവന്‍ മരിച്ചു എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു.
19But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
20എന്നാല്‍ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവനെ ചുറ്റിനില്‍ക്കയില്‍ അവന്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു; പിറ്റെന്നാള്‍ ബര്‍ന്നബാസിനോടു കൂടി ദെര്‍ബ്ബെക്കു പോയി.
20But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.
21ആ പട്ടണത്തിലും സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു പലരെയും ശിഷ്യരാക്കിയശേഷം അവര്‍ ലുസ്ത്ര, ഇക്കോന്യ, അന്ത്യോക്യ എന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,
21When they had preached the Good News to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
22വിശ്വാസത്തില്‍ നില നില്‍ക്കേണം എന്നും നാം അനേകം കഷ്ടങ്ങളില്‍കൂടി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില്‍ കടക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു.
22confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the Kingdom of God.
23അവര്‍ സഭതോറും അവര്‍ക്കും മൂപ്പന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കയും ഉപവസിച്ചും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ച കര്‍ത്താവിങ്കല്‍ അവരെ ഭാരമേല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
23When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
24അവര്‍ പിസിദ്യയില്‍കൂടി കടന്നു പംഫുല്യയില്‍എത്തി,
24They passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
25പെര്‍ഗ്ഗയില്‍വചനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം അത്തല്യെക്കു പോയി
25When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26അവിടെ നിന്നു കപ്പല്‍ കയറി അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി; തങ്ങള്‍ നിവര്‍ത്തിച്ച വേലക്കായി ദൈവകൃപയില്‍ അവരെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചയച്ചതു അവിടെനിന്നു ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.
26From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
27അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം സഭയെ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂട്ടി, ദൈവം തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും ജാതികള്‍ക്കു വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ വാതില്‍ തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തതും അറിയിച്ചു.
27When they had arrived, and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.
28പിന്നെ അവന്‍ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കുറെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്‍ത്തു.
28They stayed there with the disciples for a long time.
