1യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ മൂന്നാം മാസത്തില് അതേ ദിവസം അവര് സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില് എത്തി.
1In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2അവര് രെഫീദീമില്നിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു, സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില് വന്നു, മരുഭൂമിയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി; അവിടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു എതിരെ യിസ്രായേല് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.
2When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.
3മോശെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറിച്ചെന്നു; യഹോവ പര്വ്വതത്തില് നിന്നു അവനോടു വിളിച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറകയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്
3Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ചെയ്തതും നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകന്മാരുടെ ചിറകിന്മേല് വഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുത്തിയതും നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.
4‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
5ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു അനുസരിക്കയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു സകലജാതികളിലുംവെച്ചു പ്രത്യേക സമ്പത്തായിരിക്കും; ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.
5Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
6നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ഒരു പുരോഹിതരാജത്വവും വിശുദ്ധജനവും ആകും. ഇവ നീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വചനങ്ങള് ആകുന്നു.
6and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
7മോശെ വന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു, യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും അവരെ പറഞ്ഞു കേള്പ്പിച്ചു.
7Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.
8യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള് ചെയ്യും എന്നു ജനം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
8All the people answered together, and said, “All that Yahweh has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.
9യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഞാന് നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് ജനം കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് ഇതാ, മേഘതമസ്സില് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു മോശെ യഹോവയോടു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
9Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.
10യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു ഇന്നും നാളെയും അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്ക;
10Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
11അവര് വസ്ത്രം അലക്കി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കട്ടേ; മൂന്നാം ദിവസം യഹോവ സകല ജനവും കാണ്കെ സീനായിപര്വ്വത്തില് ഇറങ്ങും.
11and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.
12ജനം പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറാതെയും അതിന്റെ അടിവാരം തൊടാതെയും ഇരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ അവര്ക്കായി ചുറ്റും അതിര് തിരിക്കേണം; പര്വ്വതം തൊടുന്നവന് എല്ലാം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
12You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
13കൈ തൊടാതെ അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞോ എയ്തോ കൊന്നുകളയേണം; മൃഗമായാലും മനുഷ്യനായാലും ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുതു. കാഹളം ദീര്ഘമായി ധ്വനിക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു അടുത്തു വരട്ടെ.
13No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”
14മോശെ പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ജനത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; അവര് വസ്ത്രം അലക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
14Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15അവന് ജനത്തോടുമൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”
16മൂന്നാം ദിവസം നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോള് ഇടിമുഴക്കവും മിന്നലും പര്വ്വതത്തില് കാര്മേഘവും മഹാഗംഭീരമായ കാഹളധ്വനിയും ഉണ്ടായി; പാളയത്തിലുള്ള ജനം ഒക്കെയും നടുങ്ങി.
16It happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17ദൈവത്തെ എതിരേല്പാന് മോശെ ജനത്തെ പാളയത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അവര് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തുനിന്നു.
17Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
18യഹോവ തീയില് സീനായി പര്വ്വതത്തില് ഇറങ്ങുകയാല് അതു മുഴുവനും പുകകൊണ്ടു മൂടി; അതിന്റെ പുക തീച്ചൂളയിലെ പുകപോലെ പൊങ്ങി; പര്വ്വതം ഒക്കെയും ഏറ്റവും കുലുങ്ങി.
18Mount Sinai, all it, smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19കാഹളധ്വനി ദീര്ഘമായി ഉറച്ചുറച്ചുവന്നപ്പോള് മോശെ സംസാരിച്ചു; ദൈവം ഉച്ചത്തില് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളി.
19When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20യഹോവ സീനായി പര്വ്വതത്തില് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയില് ഇറങ്ങി; യഹോവ മോശെയെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു; മോശെ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.
20Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്ജനം നോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് കടന്നുവന്നിട്ടു അവരില് പലരും നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിപ്പാന് നീ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു അമര്ച്ചയായി കല്പിക്ക.
21Yahweh said to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Yahweh to gaze, and many of them perish.
22യഹോവയോടു അടുക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും ഹാനി വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കട്ടെ.
22Let the priests also, who come near to Yahweh, sanctify themselves, lest Yahweh break forth on them.”
23മോശെ യഹോവയോടുജനത്തിന്നു സീനായിപര്വ്വത്തില് കയറുവാന് പാടില്ല; പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു അതിര് തിരിച്ചു അതിനെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുക എന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടു അമര്ച്ചയായി കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23Moses said to Yahweh, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai, for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”
24യഹോവ അവനോടുഇറങ്ങിപ്പോക; നീ അഹരോനുമായി കയറിവരിക; എന്നാല് പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനവും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും നാശം വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറുവാന് അതിര് കടക്കരുതു.
24Yahweh said to him, “Go down and you shall bring Aaron up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to Yahweh, lest he break forth on them.”
25അങ്ങനെ മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
25So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
