¹ആദിയില്‍ ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

¹In the beginning God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” After “God,” the Hebrew has the two letters “Aleph Tav” (the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet) as a grammatical marker. created the heavens and the earth.

²ഭൂമി പാഴായും ശൂന്യമായും ഇരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വെള്ളത്തിന്‍ മീതെ പരിവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

²Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

³വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.

³God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

⁴വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മില്‍ വേര്‍ പിരിച്ചു.

⁴God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

⁵ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു പകല്‍ എന്നും ഇരുളിന്നു രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.

⁵God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” There was evening and there was morning, one day.

⁶ദൈവം വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്നും തമ്മില്‍ വേര്‍പിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

⁶God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

⁷വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടു ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്‍ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിന്‍ മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മില്‍ വേര്‍പിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

⁷God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

⁸ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്നു ആകാശം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാം ദിവസം.

⁸God called the expanse “sky.” There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

⁹ദൈവംആകാശത്തിന്‍ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

⁹God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

¹⁰ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

¹⁰God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering together of the waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.

¹¹ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയില്‍ അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

¹¹God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with its seed in it, on the earth”; and it was so.

¹²ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്നു പുല്ലും അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

¹²The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

¹³സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസം.

¹³There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

¹⁴പകലും രാവും തമ്മില്‍ വേര്‍പിരിവാന്‍ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില്‍ വെളിച്ചങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും കാലം, ദിവസം, സംവത്സരം എന്നിവ തിരിച്ചറിവാനായും ഉതകട്ടെ;

¹⁴God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

¹⁵ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില്‍ അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

¹⁵and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

¹⁶പകല്‍ വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

¹⁶God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

¹⁷ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും വാഴുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മില്‍ വേര്‍പിരിപ്പാനുമായി

¹⁷God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth,

¹⁸ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

¹⁸and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

¹⁹സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.

¹⁹There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

²⁰വെള്ളത്തില്‍ ജലജന്തുക്കള്‍ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിക്കട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തില്‍ പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁰God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky.”

²¹ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തില്‍ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതതു തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

²¹God created the large sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.

²²നിങ്ങള്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ നിറവിന്‍ ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയില്‍ പെരുകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

²²God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

²³സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.

²³There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

²⁴അതതുതരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതു തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കള്‍ ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്നു ഉളവാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

²⁴God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

²⁵ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതതു തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

²⁵God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

²⁶അനന്തരം ദൈവംനാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തില്‍ നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; അവര്‍ സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും മൃഗങ്ങളിന്മേലും സര്‍വ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയില്‍ ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും വാഴട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁶God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

²⁷ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തില്‍ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തില്‍ അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

²⁷God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

²⁸ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചുനിങ്ങള്‍ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെപറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിന്‍ എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁸God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

²⁹ഭൂമിയില്‍ എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;

²⁹God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.

³⁰ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകള്‍ക്കും ഭൂമിയില്‍ ചരിക്കുന്ന സകല ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കള്‍ക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാന്‍ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

³⁰To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.

³¹താന്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അതു എത്രയും നല്ലതു എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.

³¹God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
