1അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേല് തനിക്കുള്ള സകലവുമായി യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബേര്-ശേബയില് എത്തി തന്റെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.
1Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.
2ദൈവം യിസ്രായേലിനോടു രാത്രി ദര്ശനങ്ങളില്യാക്കോബേ, യാക്കോബേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇതാ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.
2God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “Here I am.”
3അപ്പോള് അവന് ഞാന് ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ; മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അവിടെ ഞാന് നിന്നെ വലിയ ജാതിയാക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
3He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.
4ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോരും; ഞാന് നിന്നെ മടക്കി വരുത്തും; യോസേഫ് സ്വന്തകൈകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണു അടെക്കും എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
4I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph will close your eyes.”
5പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് ബേര്-ശേബയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അപ്പനായ യാക്കോബിനെ കയറ്റുവാന് ഫറവോന് അയച്ച രഥങ്ങളില് അവനെയും തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെയും ഭാര്യമാരെയും കയറ്റി കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
5Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6തങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളെയും കനാന് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു സമ്പാദിച്ച സമ്പത്തുകളെയും കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അങ്ങനെ യാക്കോബും സന്തതികളുമെല്ലാം മിസ്രയീമില് എത്തി.
6They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt—Jacob, and all his seed with him,
7അവന് തന്റെ പുത്രിപുത്രന്മാരെയും പൌത്രിപൌത്രന്മാരെയും തന്റെ സന്തതികളെയൊക്കെയും കൂട്ടി മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
7his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and he brought all his seed with him into Egypt.
8മിസ്രയീമില് വന്ന യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പേരുകള് ആവിതുയാക്കോബും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും; യാക്കോബിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ രൂബേന് .
8These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

9The sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

10The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.
11ലേവിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഗേര്ശോന് , കഹാത്ത്, മെരാരി.
11The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഏര്, ഔനാന് , ശേലാ, പേരെസ്, സേരഹ്; എന്നാല് ഏര് ഔനാന് എന്നിവര് കനാന് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി. പേരെസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്
12The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
13ഹെസ്രോന് , ഹാമൂല്. യിസ്സാഖാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്തോലാ, പുവ്വാ, യോബ്, ശിമ്രോന് .
13The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Iob, and Shimron.
14സെബൂലൂന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്സേരെദ്, ഏലോന് , യഹ്ളെയേല്.
14The sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

17The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and Serah their sister. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.

18These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah, his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls.

19The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.

20To Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bore to him.
21ബെന്യാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ബേല, ബേഖെര്, അശ്ബെല്, ഗേരാ, നാമാന് , ഏഹീ, രോശ്, മുപ്പീം, ഹുപ്പീം, ആരെദ്.
21The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.
22ഇവര് റാഹേല് യാക്കോബിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച പുത്രന്മാര്; എല്ലാംകൂടെ പതിന്നാലു പേര്.
22These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23,24 ദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഹൂശീം. നഫ്താലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്യഹസേല്, ഗൂനീ, യേസെര്, ശില്ലോ.
23The son of Dan: Hushim.
24ഇവര് ലാബാന് തന്റെ മകളായ റാഹേലിന്നു കൊടുത്ത ബില്ഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവള് യാക്കോബിന്നു ഇവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; എല്ലാംകൂടെ ഏഴുപേര്.
24The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.

25These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel, his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob: all the souls were seven.
26യോസേഫിന്നു മിസ്രയീമില്വെച്ചു ജനിച്ച പുത്രന്മാര് രണ്ടുപേര്; മിസ്രയീമില് വന്നരായ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കുടുംബം ആകെ എഴുപതു പേര്.
26All the souls who came with Jacob into Egypt, who were his direct descendants, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were sixty-six.
27എന്നാല് ഗോശെനിലേക്കു യോസേഫ് തനിക്കു വഴി കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് യെഹൂദയെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മുമ്പിട്ടു അയച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് ഗോശെന് ദേശത്തു എത്തി.
27The sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, who came into Egypt, were seventy.
28യോസേഫ് രഥം കെട്ടിച്ചു അപ്പനായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ എതിരേല്പാന് ഗോശെനിലേക്കു പോയി, അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു ഏറെനേരം കരഞ്ഞു.
28He sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen.
29യിസ്രായെല് യോസേഫിനോടുനീ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ മരിച്ചാലും വേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30പിന്നെ യോസേഫ് സഹോദരന്മാരോടും അപ്പന്റെ കുടുംബത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടുകനാന് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും അപ്പന്റെ കുടുംബവും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയിക്കും.
30Israel said to Joseph, “Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”
31അവര് ഇടയന്മാര് ആകുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളെ മേയക്കുന്നതു അവരുടെ തൊഴില്; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും തങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവനോടു പറയും.
31Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father’s house, “I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, ‘My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.
32അതുകൊണ്ടു ഫറവോന് നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചുനിങ്ങളുടെ തൊഴില് എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്
32These men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.’
33അടിയങ്ങള് ബാല്യംമുതല് ഇന്നുവരെയും, ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും ഗോപാലകന്മാരാകുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഗോശെനില് പാര്പ്പാന് സംഗതിയാകും; ഇടയന്മാരെല്ലാം മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പല്ലോ.
33It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, ‘What is your occupation?’
34that you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
