1മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു എടുക്കുന്ന ഏതു മഹാപുരോഹിതനും പാപങ്ങള്ക്കായി വഴിപാടും യാഗവും അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് ദൈവകാര്യ്യത്തില് മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി നിയമിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
1For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
2താനും ബലഹീനത പൂണ്ടവനാകയാല് അറിവില്ലാത്തവരോടും വഴി തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നവരോടും സഹതാപം കാണിപ്പാന് കഴിയുന്നവനും
2The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.
3ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എന്നപോലെ തനിക്കു വേണ്ടിയും പാപയാഗം അര്പ്പിക്കേണ്ടിയവനും ആകുന്നു.
3Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.
4എന്നാല് അഹരോനെപ്പോലെ ദൈവം വിളിക്കുന്നവനല്ലാതെ ആരും ആ സ്ഥാനം സ്വതവെ എടുക്കുന്നില്ല.
4Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.
5അവ്വണ്ണം ക്രിസ്തുവും മഹാപുരോഹിതന് ആകുവാനുള്ള മഹത്വം സ്വതവെ എടുത്തിട്ടില്ല; “നീ എന്റെ പുത്രന് ; ഇന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”എന്നു അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവന് അവന്നു കൊടുത്തതത്രേ.
5So also Christ didn’t glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father.” Psalm 2:7
6അങ്ങനെ മറ്റൊരേടത്തും“നീ മല്ക്കീസേദെക്കിന്റെ ക്രമപ്രകാരം എന്നേക്കും ഒരു പുരോഹിതന് ” എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
6As he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” Psalm 110:4
7ക്രിസ്തു തന്റെ ഐഹിക ജീവകാലത്തു തന്നേ മരണത്തില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിപ്പാന് കഴിയുന്നവനോടു ഉറെച്ച നിലവിളിയോടും കണ്ണുനീരോടുംകൂടെ അപേക്ഷയും അഭയയാചനയും കഴിക്കയും ഭയഭക്തി നിമിത്തം ഉത്തരം ലഭിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
7He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
8പുത്രന് എങ്കിലും താന് അനുഭവിച്ച കഷ്ടങ്ങളാല് അനുസരണം പഠിച്ചു തികഞ്ഞവനായി
8though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered.
9തന്നെ അനുസരിക്കുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും നിത്യരക്ഷയുടെ കാരണഭൂതനായിത്തീര്ന്നു.
9Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation,
10മല്ക്കീസേദെക്കിന്റെ ക്രമപ്രകാരം മഹാപുരോഹിതന് എന്നുള്ള നാമം ദൈവത്താല് ലഭിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
10named by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
11ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വളരെ പറവാനുണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് കേള്പ്പാന് മാന്ദ്യമുള്ളവരായി തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തെളിയിച്ചുതരുവാന് വിഷമം.
11About him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.
12കാലം നോക്കിയാല് ഇപ്പോള് ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാര് ആയിരിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുകളുടെ ആദ്യപാഠങ്ങളെ തന്നേ വീണ്ടും ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുവാന് ആവശ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; കട്ടിയായുള്ള ആഹാരമല്ല, പാലത്രേ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമെന്നു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
12For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.
13പാല് കുടിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം നീതിയുടെ വചനത്തില് പരിചയമില്ലാത്തവനത്രേ; അവന് ശിശുവല്ലോ.
13For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.
14കട്ടിയായുള്ള ആഹാരം നന്മതിന്മകളെ തിരിച്ചറിവാന് തഴക്കത്താല് അഭ്യസിച്ച ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളുള്ളവരായി പ്രായം തികഞ്ഞവര്ക്കേ പറ്റുകയുള്ളു.
14But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
