1എഫ്രയീം കാറ്റില് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു കിഴക്കന് കാറ്റിനെ പിന്തുടരുന്നു; അവന് ഇടവിടാതെ ഭോഷകും ശൂന്യവും വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവര് അശ്ശൂര്യ്യരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യുന്നു; മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു എണ്ണ കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു.
1Ephraim feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and desolation. They make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2യഹോവേക്കു യെഹൂദയോടും ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; അവന് യാക്കോബിനെ അവന്റെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം സന്ദര്ശിക്കും; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്നു പകരം കൊടുക്കും.
2Yahweh also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

6അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങി വരിക; ദയയും ന്യായവും പ്രമാണിച്ചു, ഇടവിടാതെ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നായി കാത്തു കൊണ്ടിരിക്ക.
6Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.
7അവന് ഒരു കനാന്യനാകുന്നു; കള്ളത്തുലാസു അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഉണ്ടു; പീഡിപ്പിപ്പാന് അവന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
7A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
8എന്നാല് എഫ്രയീംഞാന് സമ്പന്നനായ്തീര്ന്നു, എനിക്കു ധനം കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ സകല പ്രയത്നങ്ങളിലും പാപമായ യാതൊരു അകൃത്യവും എന്നില് കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നു.
8Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
9ഞാനോ മിസ്രയീംദേശംമുതല് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാകുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിലെന്നപോലെ ഇനിയും കൂടാരങ്ങളില് വസിക്കുമാറാക്കും.
9“But I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10ഞാന് പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു ദര്ശനങ്ങളെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു; പ്രവാചകന്മാര് മുഖാന്തരം സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങളെയും പ്രയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
10I have also spoken to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets I have used parables.
11ഗിലെയാദ്യര് നീതികെട്ടവര് എങ്കില് അവര് വ്യര്ത്ഥരായ്തീരും; അവര് ഗില്ഗാലില് കാളകളെ ബലികഴിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, അവരുടെ ബിലപീഠങ്ങള് വയലിലെ ഉഴച്ചാലുകളില് ഉള്ള കല്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങള്പോലെ ആകും.
11If Gilead is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.
12യാക്കോബ് അരാം ദേശത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി; യിസ്രായേല് ഒരു ഭാര്യെക്കുവേണ്ടി സേവചെയ്തു, ഒരു ഭാര്യെക്കുവേണ്ടി ആടുകളെ പാലിച്ചു.
12Jacob fled into the country of Aram, and Israel served to get a wife, and for a wife he tended flocks and herds.
13യഹോവ ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേലിനെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, ഒരു പ്രവാചകനാല് അവന് പാലിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.

14Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” will repay his contempt.
