¹യിരെമ്യാ പ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകം

¹The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:

²ബെന്യാമീന്‍ ദേശത്തു അനാഥോത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരില്‍ ഹില്‍ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങള്‍.

²to whom the word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

³അവന്നു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി ആമോന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു, അവന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ പതിമൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില്‍, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

³It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

⁴യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ കാലത്തും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനംവരെയും അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തില്‍ യെരൂശലേമ്യരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയതുവരെയും തന്നേ അങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടായി.

⁴Now the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

⁵യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്‍

⁵“Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came forth out of the womb, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

⁶നിന്നെ ഉദരത്തില്‍ ഉരുവാക്കിയതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞു; നീ ഗര്‍ഭപാത്രത്തില്‍നിന്നു പുറത്തു വന്നതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു, ജാതികള്‍ക്കു പ്രവാചകനായി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁶Then I said, “Ah, Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”

⁷എന്നാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ അയ്യോ, യഹോവയായ കര്‍ത്താവേ, എനിക്കു സംസാരിപ്പാന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ; ഞാന്‍ ബാലനല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷But Yahweh said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for to whoever I shall send you, you shall go, and whatever I shall command you, you shall speak.

⁸അതിന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന്‍ ബാലന്‍ എന്നു നീ പറയരുതു; ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അയക്കുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും അടുക്കല്‍ നീ പോകയും ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും സംസാരിക്കയും വേണം.

⁸Don’t be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you,” says Yahweh.

⁹നീ അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

⁹Then Yahweh put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and Yahweh said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

¹⁰പിന്നെ യഹോവ കൈ നീട്ടി എന്റെ വായെ തൊട്ടുഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ വായില്‍ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു;

¹⁰Behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

¹¹നോക്കുക; നിര്‍മ്മൂലമാക്കുവാനും പൊളിപ്പാനും നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും ഇടിച്ചുകളവാനും പണിവാനും നടുവാനുംവേണ്ടി ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ ഇന്നു ജാതികളുടെമേലും രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെമേലും ആക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

¹¹Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

¹²യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായിയിരെമ്യാവേ, നീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ബദാം (ജാഗ്രത്) വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കൊമ്പു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²Then Yahweh said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”

¹³യഹോവ എന്നോടുനീ കണ്ടതു ശരി തന്നേ; എന്റെ വചനം നിവര്‍ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ ജാഗരിച്ചുകൊള്ളും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

¹³The word of Yahweh came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” I said, “I see a boiling caldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”

¹⁴യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം എനിക്കുണ്ടായിനീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. തിളെക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാലം കാണുന്നു. അതു വടക്കുനിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി വരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴Then Yahweh said to me, “Out of the north evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.

¹⁵യഹോവ എന്നോടുവടക്കുനിന്നു ദേശത്തിലെ സര്‍വ്വനിവാസികള്‍ക്കും അനര്‍ത്ഥം വരും.

¹⁵For, behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says Yahweh; “and they shall come, and they shall each set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.

¹⁶ഞാന്‍ വടക്കെ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ വംശങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അവര്‍ വന്നു, ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ സിംഹാസനം യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ പടിവാതിലുകളുടെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കലും ചുറ്റും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ മതിലുകള്‍ക്കും നേരെയും യെഹൂദയിലെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങള്‍ക്കും നേരെയും വേക്കും.

¹⁶I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.

¹⁷അവര്‍ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാര്‍ക്കും ധൂപം കാട്ടി തങ്ങളുടെ കൈപ്പണികളെ നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത സകലദോഷത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ അവരോടു ന്യായപദം കഴിക്കും.

¹⁷“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.

¹⁸ആകയാല്‍ നീ അരകെട്ടി എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവരോടു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക; ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവരെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകരുതു.

¹⁸For, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.

¹⁹ഞാന്‍ ഇന്നു നിന്നെ സര്‍വ്വദേശത്തിന്നും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ക്കും ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തിന്നും നേരെ ഉറപ്പുള്ളോരു പട്ടണവും ഇരിമ്പുതൂണും താമ്രമതിലുകളും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹They will fight against you; but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you,” says Yahweh, “to deliver you.”

²⁰അവര്‍ നിന്നോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും; നിന്നെ ജയിക്കയില്ലതാനും; നിന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
