1അതിന്നു നയമാത്യനായ സോഫര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്
1Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,
2വാഗ്ബാഹുല്യത്തിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടയോ? വിടുവായന് നീതിമാനായിരിക്കുമോ?
2“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?
3നിന്റെ വായ്പട കേട്ടിട്ടു പുരുഷന്മാര് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുമോ? നീ പരിഹസിക്കുമ്പോള് നിന്നെ ലജ്ജിപ്പിപ്പാന് ആരുമില്ലയോ?
3Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, shall no man make you ashamed?
4എന്റെ ഉപദേശം നിര്മ്മലം എന്നും തൃക്കണ്ണിന്നു ഞാന് വെടിപ്പുള്ളവന് എന്നും നീ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.
4For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’
5അയ്യോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും നിന്റെ നേരെ അധരം തുറക്കയും
5But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,
6ജ്ഞാനമര്മ്മങ്ങള് വിവിധ സാഫല്യമുള്ളവ എന്നു നിന്നെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു എങ്കില്! അപ്പോള് നിന്റെ അകൃത്യം ഔരോന്നും ദൈവം ക്ഷമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുമായിരുന്നു.
6that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
7ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആഗാധതത്വം നിനക്കു ഗ്രഹിക്കാമോ? സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ സമ്പൂര്ത്തി നിനക്കു മനസ്സിലാകുമോ?
7“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8അതു ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയരമുള്ളതു; നീ എന്തു ചെയ്യും; അതു പാതാളത്തെക്കാള് അഗാധമായതു; നിനക്കെന്തറിയാം?
8They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. . What can you know?
9അതിന്റെ പരിമാണം ഭൂമിയെക്കാള് നീളവും സമുദ്രത്തെക്കാള് വീതിയും ഉള്ളതു.
9Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10അവന് കടന്നുവന്നു ബന്ധിക്കയും വിസ്താരസഭയെ കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്താല് അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആര്?
10If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?
11അവന് നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കാതെ തന്നേ അവന് ദ്രോഹം കാണുന്നു.
11For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.
12പൊണ്ണനായവനും ബുദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കും; കാട്ടുകഴുതകൂട്ടി മനുഷ്യനായി ജനിക്കും;
12An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
13നീ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കി അവങ്കലേക്കു കൈമലര്ത്തുമ്പോള്
13“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.
14നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ദ്രോഹം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അതിനെ അകറ്റുക; നീതികേടു നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില് പാര്പ്പിക്കരുതു.
14If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
15അപ്പോള് നീ കളങ്കംകൂടാതെ മുഖം ഉയര്ത്തും; നീ ഉറെച്ചുനിലക്കും; ഭയപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല.
15Surely then you shall lift up your face without spot; Yes, you shall be steadfast, and shall not fear:
16അതേ, നീ കഷ്ടത മറക്കും; ഒഴുകിപ്പോയ വെള്ളംപോലെ അതിനെ ഔര്ക്കും.
16for you shall forget your misery. You shall remember it as waters that are passed away.
17നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സു മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നത്തെക്കാള് പ്രകാശിക്കും; ഇരുള് പ്രഭാതംപോലെയാകും.
17Life shall be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18പ്രത്യാശയുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു നീ നിര്ഭയനായിരിക്കും; നീ ചുറ്റും നോക്കി സ്വൈരമായി വസിക്കും;
18You shall be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you shall search, and shall take your rest in safety.
19നീ കിടക്കും; ആരും നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; പലരും നിന്റെ മമത അന്വേഷിക്കും.
19Also you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. Yes, many shall court your favor.
20എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കണ്ണു മങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ശരണം അവര്ക്കും പോയ്പോകും; പ്രാണനെ വിടുന്നതത്രേ അവര്ക്കുംള്ള പ്രത്യാശ.
20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail. They shall have no way to flee. Their hope shall be the giving up of the spirit.”
