1വെള്ളിക്കു ഒരു ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനവും പൊന്നു ഊതിക്കഴിപ്പാന്‍ ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു.
1“Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
2ഇരിമ്പു മണ്ണില്‍നിന്നെടുക്കുന്നു; കല്ലുരുക്കി ചെമ്പെടുക്കുന്നു.
2Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.
3മനുഷ്യന്‍ അന്ധകാരത്തിന്നു ഒരതിര്‍ വെക്കുന്നു; കൂരിരുളിലെയും അന്ധതമസ്സിലെയും കല്ലിനെ അങ്ങേയറ്റംവരെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
3Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.
4പാര്‍പ്പുള്ളേടത്തുനിന്നു ദൂരെ അവര്‍ കുഴികുത്തുന്നു; കടന്നുപോകുന്ന കാലിന്നു അവര്‍ മറന്നു പോയവര്‍ തന്നേ; മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കും അകലെ അവര്‍ തൂങ്ങി ആടുന്നു.
4He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.
5ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്നു ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ അധോഭാഗം തീകൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മറിയുന്നു.
5As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.
6അതിലെ പാറകള്‍ നീലരത്നത്തിന്റെ ഉല്പത്തിസ്ഥാനം; കനകപ്പൊടിയും അതില്‍ ഉണ്ടു.
6Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.
7അതിന്റെ പാത കഴുകന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പരുന്തിന്റെ കണ്ണു അതിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
7That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon’s eye seen it.
8പുളെച്ച കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങള്‍ അതില്‍ ചവിട്ടീട്ടില്ല; ഘോരസിംഹം അതിലെ നടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
8The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.
9അവര്‍ തീക്കല്‍പാറയിലേക്കു കൈനീട്ടുന്നു; പര്‍വ്വതങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ വേരോടെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
9He puts forth his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.
10അവര്‍ പാറകളുടെ ഇടയില്‍കൂടി നടകളെ വെട്ടുന്നു; അവരുടെ കണ്ണു വിലയേറിയ വസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
10He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.
11അവര്‍ നീരൊഴുക്കുകളെ ചോരാതവണ്ണം അടെച്ചു നിര്‍ത്തുന്നു; ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നതു അവര്‍ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
11He binds the streams that they don’t trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.
12എന്നാല്‍ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടും? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
12“But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?
13അതിന്റെ വില മനുഷ്യന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തു അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല.
13Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.
14അതു എന്നില്‍ ഇല്ല എന്നു ആഴി പറയുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ പക്കല്‍ ഇല്ല എന്നു സമുദ്രവും പറയുന്നു.
14The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’
15തങ്കം കൊടുത്താല്‍ അതു കിട്ടുന്നതല്ല; അതിന്റെ വിലയായി വെള്ളി തൂക്കിക്കൊടുക്കാറുമില്ല.
15It can’t be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.
16ഔഫീര്‍പൊന്നോ വിലയേറിയ ഗോമേദകമോ നീലരത്നമോ ഒന്നും അതിന്നു ഈടാകുന്നതല്ല;
16It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire or, lapis lazuli .
17സ്വര്‍ണ്ണവും സ്ഫടികവും അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കം കൊണ്ടുള്ള പണ്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അതിനെ മാറിക്കൊടുപ്പാറില്ല.
17Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
18പവിഴത്തിന്റെയും പളുങ്കിന്റെയും പേര്‍ മിണ്ടുകേ വേണ്ടാ; ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ വില മുത്തുകളിലും കവിഞ്ഞതല്ലോ.
18No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19കൂശിലെ പുഷ്പരാഗം അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ വില മതിക്കാകുന്നതുമല്ല.
19The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20പിന്നെ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
20Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?
21അതു സകലജീവികളുടെയും കണ്ണുകള്‍ക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള്‍ക്കു അതു ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
21Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.
22ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചെവികൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ കേള്‍വി കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു നരകവും മരണവും പറയുന്നു.
22Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’
23ദൈവം അതിന്റെ വഴി അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു.
23“God understands its way, and he knows its place.
24അവന്‍ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളോളവും നോക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
24For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.
25അവന്‍ കാറ്റിനെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുകയും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ അളവു നിശ്ചയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
25He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.
26അവന്‍ മഴെക്കു ഒരു നിയമവും ഇടിമിന്നലിന്നു ഒരു വഴിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയപ്പോള്‍
26When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder;
27അവന്‍ അതു കണ്ടു വര്‍ണ്ണിക്കയും അതു സ്ഥാപിച്ചു പരിശോധിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
27then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.
28കര്‍ത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തി തന്നേ ജ്ഞാനം; ദോഷം അകന്നു നടക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ വിവേകം എന്നു അവന്‍ മനുഷ്യനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
28To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” , that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”
