1അനന്തരം യഹോവ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില്‍ നിന്നു ഇയ്യോബിനോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്‍
1Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,
2അറിവില്ലാത്ത വാക്കുകളാല്‍ ആലോചനയെ ഇരുളാക്കുന്നോരിവനാര്‍?
2“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
3നീ പുരുഷനെപ്പോലെ അര മുറുക്കികൊള്‍ക; ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; എന്നോടു ഉത്തരം പറക.
3Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me!
4ഞാന്‍ ഭൂമിക്കു അടിസ്ഥാനമിട്ടപ്പോള്‍ നീ എവിടെയായിരുന്നു? നിനക്കു വിവേകമുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.
4“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
5അതിന്റെ അളവു നിയമിച്ചവന്‍ ആര്‍? നീ അറിയുന്നുവോ? അല്ല, അതിന്നു അളവുനൂല്‍ പിടിച്ചവനാര്‍?
5Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?
6പ്രഭാതനക്ഷത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചു ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കയും ദൈവപുത്രന്മാരെല്ലാം സന്തോഷിച്ചാര്‍ക്കുംകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോള്‍
6Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,
7അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഏതിന്മേല്‍ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു? അല്ല, അതിന്റെ മൂലക്കല്ലിട്ടവന്‍ ആര്‍?
7when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8ഗര്‍ഭത്തില്‍നിന്നു എന്നപോലെ സമുദ്രം ചാടിപ്പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള്‍ അതിനെ കതകുകളാല്‍ അടെച്ചവന്‍ ആര്‍?
8“Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth from the womb,
9അന്നു ഞാന്‍ മേഘത്തെ അതിന്നു ഉടുപ്പും കൂരിരുളിനെ അതിന്നു ചുറ്റാടയും ആക്കി;
9when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,
10ഞാന്‍ അതിന്നു അതിര്‍ നിയമിച്ചു കതകും ഔടാമ്പലും വെച്ചു.
10marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors,
11ഇത്രത്തോളം നിനക്കുവരാം; ഇതു കടക്കരുതു; ഇവിടെ നിന്റെ തിരമാലകളുടെ ഗര്‍വ്വം നിലെക്കും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
11and said, ‘Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?’
12ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ അതില്‍നിന്നു കുടഞ്ഞുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നും
12“Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place;
13നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊരിക്കലെങ്കിലും നീ പ്രഭാതത്തിന്നു കല്പന കൊടുക്കയും അരുണോദയത്തിന്നു സ്ഥലം ആദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
13that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?
14അതു മുദ്രെക്കു കീഴിലെ അരകൂപോലെ മാറുന്നു; വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ആസകലം വിളങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നു.
14It is changed as clay under the seal, and stands forth as a garment.
15ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ക്കും വെളിച്ചം മുടങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; ഔങ്ങിയ ഭുജവും ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.
15From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken.
16നീ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ഉറവുകളോളം ചെന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ആഴിയുടെ ആഴത്തില്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
16“Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?
17മരണത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകള്‍ നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ? അന്ധതമസ്സിന്റെ വാതിലുകളെ നീ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
17Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
18ഭൂമിയുടെ വിശാലത നീ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ഇതൊക്കെയും അറിയുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ പ്രസ്താവിക്ക.
18Have you comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if you know it all.
19വെളിച്ചം വസിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കുള്ള വഴി ഏതു? ഇരുളിന്റെ പാര്‍പ്പിടവും എവിടെ?
19“What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is its place,
20നിനക്കു അവയെ അവയുടെ അതിരോളം കൊണ്ടുപോകാമോ? അവയുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള പാത അറിയാമോ?
20that you should take it to its bound, that you should discern the paths to its house?
21നീ അന്നേ ജനിച്ചിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; നിനക്കു ആയുസ്സു ഒട്ടും കുറവല്ലല്ലോ; നീ അതു അറിയാതിരിക്കുമോ?
21Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great!
22നീ ഹിമത്തിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തോളം ചെന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ? കന്മഴയുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരം നീ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
22Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail,
23ഞാന്‍ അവയെ കഷ്ടകാലത്തേക്കും പോരും പടയുമുള്ള നാളിലേക്കും സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
23which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
24വെളിച്ചം പിരിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതും കിഴക്കന്‍ കാറ്റു ഭൂമിമേല്‍ വ്യാപിക്കുന്നതും ആയ വഴി ഏതു?
24By what way is the lightning distributed, or the east wind scattered on the earth?
25നിര്‍ജ്ജനദേശത്തും ആള്‍ പാര്‍പ്പില്ലാത്ത മരുഭൂമിയിലും മഴ പെയ്യിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും
25Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunderstorm;
26തരിശും ശൂന്യവുമായ നിലത്തിന്റെ ദാഹം തീര്‍ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇളമ്പുല്ലു മുളെപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും
26To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man;
27ജലപ്രവാഹത്തിന്നു ചാലും ഇടിമിന്നലിന്നു പാതയും വെട്ടിക്കൊടുത്തതാര്‍?
27to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
28മഴെക്കു അപ്പനുണ്ടോ? അല്ല, മഞ്ഞുതുള്ളികളെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചതാര്‍?
28Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?
29ആരുടെ ഗര്‍ഭത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഹിമം പുറപ്പെടുന്നു? ആകാശത്തിലെ നീഹാരത്തെ ആര്‍ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു?
29Out of whose womb came the ice? The gray frost of the sky, who has given birth to it?
30വെള്ളം കല്ലുപോലെ ഉറെച്ചുപോകുന്നു. ആഴിയുടെ മുഖം കട്ടിയായിത്തീരുന്നു.
30The waters become hard like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen.
31കാര്‍ത്തികയുടെ ചങ്ങല നിനക്കു ബന്ധിക്കാമോ? മകയിരത്തിന്റെ ബന്ധനങ്ങള്‍ അഴിക്കാമോ?
31“Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion?
32നിനക്കു രാശിചക്രത്തെ അതിന്റെ കാലത്തു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കാമോ? സപ്തര്‍ഷികളെയും മക്കളെയും നിനക്കു നടത്താമോ?
32Can you lead forth the constellations in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with her cubs?
33ആകാശത്തിലെ നിയമങ്ങളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവോ? അതിന്നു ഭൂമിമേലുള്ള സ്വാധീനത നിര്‍ണ്ണയിക്കാമോ?
33Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish its dominion over the earth?
34ജലപ്രവാഹം നിന്നെ മൂടേണ്ടതിന്നു നിനക്കു മേഘങ്ങളോളം ശബ്ദം ഉയര്‍ത്താമോ?
34“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you?
35അടിയങ്ങള്‍ വിടകൊള്ളുന്നു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു പുറപ്പെടുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കു മിന്നലുകളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കാമോ?
35Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are?’
36അന്തരംഗത്തില്‍ ജ്ഞാനത്തെ വെച്ചവനാര്‍? മനസ്സിന്നു വിവേകം കൊടുത്തവന്‍ ആര്‍?
36Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?
37ഉരുക്കിവാര്‍ത്തതുപോലെ പൊടിതമ്മില്‍ കൂടുമ്പോഴും മണ്‍കട്ട ഒന്നോടൊന്നു പറ്റിപ്പോകുമ്പോഴും
37Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the sky,
38ജ്ഞാനത്താല്‍ മേഘങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുന്നതാര്‍? ആകാശത്തിലെ തുരുത്തികളെ ചരിക്കുന്നതാര്‍?
38when the dust runs into a mass, and the clods of earth stick together?
39സിംഹങ്ങള്‍ ഗുഹകളില്‍ പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും അവ മുറ്റുകാട്ടില്‍ പതിയിരിക്കുമ്പോഴും
39“Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40നീ സിംഹിക്കു ഇര വേട്ടയാടിക്കൊടുക്കുമോ? ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വിശപ്പടക്കുമോ?
40when they crouch in their dens, and lie in wait in the thicket?
41കാക്കകൂഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ ഇരകിട്ടാതെ ഉഴന്നു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അതിന്നു തീന്‍ എത്തിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതാര്‍?
41Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?
