1അവര്‍ ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവര്‍ഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,
1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2കല്ലറയില്‍ നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.
2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്‍ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.
3They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
4അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര്‍ ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര്‍ അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
4It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മുഖം കുനിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്‍ ജീവനുള്ളവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?
5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6അവന്‍ ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു;
6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
7മുമ്പെ ഗലീലയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തന്നേ അവന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടുമനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ പാപികളായ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിക്കയും അവന്‍ മൂന്നാം നാള്‍ ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കയും വേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു ഔര്‍ത്തുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു
7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
8അവര്‍ അവന്റെ വാക്കു ഔര്‍ത്തു,
8They remembered his words,
9കല്ലറ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി പതിനൊരുവര്‍ മുതലായ എല്ലാവരോടും ഇതു ഒക്കെയും അറിയിച്ചു.
9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.
10അവര്‍ ആരെന്നാല്‍ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ, യോഹന്നാ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ അമ്മ മറിയ എന്നവര്‍ തന്നേ. അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും അതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.
11ഈ വാക്കു അവര്‍ക്കും വെറും കഥപോലെ തോന്നി; അവരെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.
11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
12(എന്നാല്‍ പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കല്ലറെക്കല്‍ ഔടിച്ചെന്നു കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, തുണി മാത്രം കണ്ടു, സംഭവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.)
12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില്‍ രണ്ടുപേര്‍ യെരൂശലേമില്‍നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്‍
13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia 60 stadia = about 11 kilometers or about 7 miles. from Jerusalem.
14ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില്‍ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15സംസാരിച്ചും തര്‍ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്‍ന്നു നടന്നു.
15It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
16അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.
16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17അവന്‍ അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്‍ വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില്‍ വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര്‍ വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.
17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
18ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന്‍ ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളില്‍ നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളില്‍ അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
19ഏതു എന്നു അവന്‍ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര്‍ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.
19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.
20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21ഞങ്ങളോ അവന്‍ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന്‍ എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള്‍ ആകുന്നു.
21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
22ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ ചില സ്ത്രീകള്‍ രാവിലെ കല്ലറെക്കല്‍ പോയി
22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
23അവന്റെ ശരീരം കാണാതെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവന്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ദര്‍ശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.
23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ ചിലര്‍ കല്ലറക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു സ്ത്രീകള്‍ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ കണ്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.
24Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
25അവന്‍ അവരോടുഅയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാര്‍ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,
25He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില്‍ കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
27മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില്‍ നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്‍ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28അവര്‍ പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.
28They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന്‍ അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍പ്പാന്‍ ചെന്നു.
29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
30അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്‍ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.
30It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.
31ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര്‍ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി
31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
32അവന്‍ വഴിയില്‍ നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില്‍ കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
32They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
33ആ നാഴികയില്‍ തന്നേ അവര്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.
33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34കര്‍ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.
34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35വഴിയില്‍ സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന്‍ അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില്‍ തങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അറിയായ്‍വന്നതും അവര്‍ വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ അവരുടെ നടുവില്‍ നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)
36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37അവര്‍ ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്‍ക്കും തോന്നി.
37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38അവന്‍ അവരോടു നിങ്ങള്‍ കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?
38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39ഞാന്‍ തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന്‍ ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന്‍ ; എന്നില്‍ കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40(ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന്‍ കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41അവര്‍ സന്തോഷത്താല്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന്‍ വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല്‍ ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42അവര്‍ ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന്‍ കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.
42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43അതു അവന്‍ വാങ്ങി അവര്‍ കാണ്‍കെ തിന്നു.
43He took them, and ate in front of them.
44പിന്നെ അവന്‍ അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.
44He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള്‍ മരിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നു ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില്‍ തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ സാക്ഷികള്‍ ആകുന്നു.
46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്‍നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില്‍ പാര്‍പ്പിന്‍ എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48അനന്തരം അവന്‍ അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്‍ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില്‍ അവന്‍ അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).
49 Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50അവര്‍ (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില്‍ ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.
50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.
52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
