¹ആറു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യേശു പത്രൊസിനെയും യാക്കോബിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടി തനിച്ചു ഒരു ഉയര്‍ന്ന മലയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി,.

¹After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.

²അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ രൂപാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു, അവന്റെ മുഖം സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ ശോഭിച്ചു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം വെളിച്ചം പോലെ വെള്ളയായി തീര്‍ന്നു.

²He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.

³മോശെയും ഏലിയാവും അവനോടു സംഭാഷിക്കുന്നതായി അവര്‍ കണ്ടു.

³Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.

⁴അപ്പോള്‍ പത്രൊസ് യേശുവിനോടുകര്‍ത്താവേ, നാം ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു; നിനക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഇവിടെ മൂന്നു കുടില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കാം ഒന്നു നിനക്കും ഒന്നു മോശെക്കും ഒന്നു ഏലീയാവിന്നും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴Peter answered, and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

⁵അവന്‍ പറയുമ്പോള്‍ തന്നേ പ്രകാശമുള്ളോരു മേഘം അവരുടെ മേല്‍ നിഴലിട്ടു; മേഘത്തില്‍ നിന്നുഇവന്‍ എന്റെ പ്രീയ പുത്രന്‍ , ഇവങ്കല്‍ ഞാന്‍ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു; ഇവന്നു ചെവികൊടുപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

⁵While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

⁶ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു കവിണ്ണുവീണു.

⁶When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.

⁷യേശു അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവരെ തൊട്ടു“എഴുന്നേല്പിന്‍ , ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”

⁸അവര്‍ തലപൊക്കിയാറെ യേശുവിനെ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരെയും കണ്ടില്ല.

⁸Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.

⁹അവന്‍ മലയില്‍ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ നിന്നു ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുംവരെ ഈ ദര്‍ശനം ആരോടും പറയരുതു” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

⁹As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

¹⁰ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ അവനോടുഎന്നാല്‍ ഏലീയാവു മുമ്പെ വരേണ്ടതു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാര്‍ പറയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁰His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

¹¹അതിന്നു അവന്‍ “ഏലീയാവു വന്നു സകലവും യഥാസ്ഥാനത്താക്കും സത്യം.

¹¹Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,

¹²എന്നാല്‍ ഏലീയാവു വന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവര്‍ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളാതെ തങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തോന്നിയതു എല്ലാം അവനോടു ചെയ്തു. അവ്വണ്ണം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നും അവരാല്‍ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുവാനുണ്ടു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹² but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”

¹³അവന്‍ യോഹന്നാന്‍ സ്നാപകനെക്കുറിച്ചു തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

¹³Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.

¹⁴അവര്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നാറെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി

¹⁴When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, saying,

¹⁵കര്‍ത്താവേ, എന്റെ മകനോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; അവന്‍ ചന്ദ്രരോഗം പിടിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും തീയിലും പലപ്പോഴും വെള്ളത്തിലും വീണു വല്ലാത്ത കഷ്ടത്തിലായ്പോകുന്നു.

¹⁵“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

¹⁶ഞാന്‍ അവനെ നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുവാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁶So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”

¹⁷അതിന്നു യേശു“അവിശ്വാസവും കോട്ടവുമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കും? എത്രത്തോളം നിങ്ങളെ സഹിക്കും? അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന്‍ ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞഞു.

¹⁷Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”

¹⁸യേശു ഭൂതത്തെ ശാസിച്ചു, അതു അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി, ബാലന്നു ആ നാഴികമുതല്‍ സൌഖ്യംവന്നു.

¹⁸Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.

¹⁹പിന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്‍ സ്വകാര്യമായി യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നുഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കൂടാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁹Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”

²⁰അവന്‍ അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളുടെ അല്പവിശ്വാസം നിമിത്തമത്രേ;

²⁰He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

²¹നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു കടുകുമണിയോളം വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ ഈ മലയോടുഇവിടെ നിന്നു അങ്ങോട്ടു നീങ്ങുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ അതു നീങ്ങും; നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഒന്നും അസാദ്ധ്യമാകയുമില്ല.” (എങ്കിലും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയാലും ഉപവാസത്താലുമല്ലാതെ ഈ ജാതി നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നില്ല) എന്നു ഞാന്‍ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹ But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”

²²അവര്‍ ഗലീലയില്‍ സഞ്ചരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‍ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുവാറായിരിക്കുന്നു.

²²While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,

²³അവര്‍ അവനെ കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നാം നാള്‍ അവന്‍ ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു.

²³ and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.

²⁴അവര്‍ കഫര്‍ന്നഹൂമില്‍ എത്തിയാറെ ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം വാങ്ങുന്നവര്‍ പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടക്കല്‍ വന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഉവ്വു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁴When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins A didrachma is a Greek silver coin worth 2 drachmas, about as much as 2 Roman denarii, or about 2 days’ wages. It was commonly used to pay the half-shekel temple tax, because 2 drachmas were worth one half shekel of silver. came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”

²⁵അവന്‍ വീട്ടില്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ യേശു അവനോടു“ശിമോനേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ ചുങ്കമോ കരമോ ആരോടു വാങ്ങുന്നു? പുത്രന്മാരോടോ അന്യരോടോ” എന്നു മുന്നിട്ടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅന്യരോടു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁵He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

²⁶യേശു അവനോടു“എന്നാല്‍ പുത്രന്മാര്‍ ഒഴിവുള്ളവരല്ലോ.

²⁶Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.

²⁷എങ്കിലും നാം അവര്‍ക്കും ഇടര്‍ച്ച വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ കടലീലേക്കു ചെന്നു ചൂണ്ടല്‍ ഇട്ടു ആദ്യം കിട്ടുന്ന മീനിനെ എടുക്ക; അതിന്റെ വായ് തുറക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഒരു ചതുര്‍ദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കാണും; അതു എടുത്തു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും വേണ്ടി കൊടുക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷ But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. A stater is a silver coin equivalent to four Attic or two Alexandrian drachmas, or a Jewish shekel: just exactly enough to cover the half-shekel temple tax for two people. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
