1യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ഉപമകളായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്‍
1Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,
2“സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി കല്യാണസദ്യ കഴിച്ച ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.
2 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
3അവന്‍ കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാസന്മാരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര്‍ക്കോ വരുവാന്‍ മനസ്സായില്ല.
3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.
4പിന്നെയും അവന്‍ മറ്റു ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചുഎന്റെ മുത്താഴം ഒരുക്കിത്തീര്‍ന്നു, എന്റെ കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അറുത്തു, എല്ലാം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വരുവിന്‍ എന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരോടു പറയിച്ചു.
4 Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’
5അവര്‍ അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തന്‍ തന്റെ നിലത്തിലേക്കും മറ്റൊരുത്തന്‍ തന്റെ വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നും പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,
6ശേഷമുള്ളവര്‍ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു അപമാനിച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
6 and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു ആ കുലപാതകന്മാരെ മുടിച്ചു അവരുടെ പട്ടണം ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
7 When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8പിന്നെ അവന്‍ ദാസന്മാരോടുകല്യാണം ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ യോഗ്യരായില്ല.
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.
9ആകയാല്‍ വഴിത്തലെക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു കാണുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
9 Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’
10ആ ദാസന്മാര്‍ പെരുവഴികളില്‍ പോയി, കണ്ട ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെയും നല്ലവരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കല്യാണശാല വിരുന്നുകാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.
10 Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
11വിരുന്നുകാരെ നോക്കുവാന്‍ രാജാവു അകത്തു വന്നപ്പോള്‍ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അവിടെ കണ്ടു
11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
12സ്നേഹിതാ നീ കല്യാണവസ്ത്രം ഇല്ലാതെ ഇവിടെ അകത്തു വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല്‍ അവന്നു വാക്കു മുട്ടിപ്പോയി.
12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
13രാജാവു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടുഇവനെ കയ്യും കാലും കെട്ടി ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടില്‍ തള്ളിക്കളവിന്‍ ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
14വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ അനേകര്‍; തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോ ചുരുക്കം.”
14 For many are called, but few chosen.”
15അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര്‍ ചെന്നു അവനെ വാക്കില്‍ കുടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു
15Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
16തങ്ങളുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഹെരോദ്യരോടു കൂടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ അയച്ചുഗുരോ, നീ സത്യവാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി നേരായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുഖം നോക്കാത്തവന്‍ ആകയാല്‍ ആരെയും ശങ്കയില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നു.
16They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.
17നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? കൈസര്‍ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
17Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
18യേശു അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത അറിഞ്ഞു“കപട ഭക്തിക്കാരേ, എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?
18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
19കരത്തിന്നുള്ള നാണയം കാണിപ്പിന്‍” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര്‍ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
19 Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.
20അവന്‍ അവരോടു“ഈ സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുതിന്നു കൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
20He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
21“എന്നാല്‍ കൈസര്‍ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്‍ക്കും ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന്‍” എന്നു അവര്‍ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
21They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
22അവര്‍ കേട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.
22When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.
23പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരും അന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു
23On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
24ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന്‍ മക്കള്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ മരിച്ചാല്‍ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ദേവരവിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു തന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.
24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.’
25എന്നാല്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരില്‍ ഒന്നാമത്തവന്‍ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം മരിച്ചു, സന്തതി ഇല്ലായ്കയാല്‍ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സഹോദരന്നു വിട്ടേച്ചു.
25Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother.
26രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും ഏഴാമത്തവന്‍ വരെയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.
26In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
27എല്ലാവരും കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒടുവില്‍ സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.
27After them all, the woman died.
28എന്നാല്‍ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില്‍ അവള്‍ ഏഴുവരില്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും ഭാര്യയാകും? എാല്ലവര്‍ക്കും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
28In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
29അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങള്‍ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെയും ദൈവശക്തിയെയും അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു തെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.
29But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില്‍ അവര്‍ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല, വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല; സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അത്രേ ആകുന്നു.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
31മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങള്‍ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
32ഞാന്‍ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന്‍ അരുളി ച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ അവന്‍ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ.”
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ Exodus 3:6 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
33പുരുഷാരം ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തില്‍ വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
33When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
34സദൂക്യരെ അവന്‍ മിണ്ടാതാക്കിയപ്രകാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടി,
34But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
35അവരില്‍ ഒരു വൈദികന്‍ അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു
35One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
36ഗുരോ, ന്യാപ്രമാണത്തില്‍ ഏതു കല്പന വലിയതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
37യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവിനെ നീ പൂര്‍ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്‍ണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂര്‍ണ്ണ മനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.
37Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Deuteronomy 6:5
38ഇതാകുന്നു വലിയതും ഒന്നാമത്തേതുമായ കല്പന രണ്ടാമത്തേതു അതിനോടു സമം
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.
39 A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Leviticus 19:18
40ഈ രണ്ടു കല്പനകളില്‍ സകലന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
40 The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
41പരീശന്മാര്‍ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ യേശു അവരോടു
41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,
42“ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു?” അവന്‍ ആരുടെ പുത്രന്‍ എന്നി ചോദിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്‍ എന്നു അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
42saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
43അവന്‍ അവരോടു“എന്നാല്‍ ദാവീദ് ആത്മാവില്‍ അവനെ 'കര്‍ത്താവു' എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?”
43He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
44“ 'ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളത്തിന്നു എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക' എന്നു കര്‍ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്‍ത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു അവന്‍ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ. “ദാവീദ് അവനെ 'കര്‍ത്താവു' എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ അവന്റെ പുത്രന്‍ ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’ Psalm 110:1
45അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറവാന്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല;
45 “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
46അന്നുമുതല്‍ ആരും അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാന്‍ തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
46No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.
