1അനന്തരം പിശാചിനാല്‍ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന്‍ യേശുവിനെ ആത്മാവു മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി.
1Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2അവന്‍ നാല്പതു പകലും നാല്പതു രാവും ഉപവസിച്ച ശേഷം അവന്നു വിശന്നു.
2When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
3അപ്പോള്‍ പരീക്ഷകന്‍ അടുത്തു വന്നുനീ ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ എങ്കില്‍ ഈ കല്ലു അപ്പമായ്തീരുവാന്‍ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4അതിന്നു അവന്‍ “മനുഷ്യന്‍ അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വായില്‍കൂടി വരുന്ന സകലവചനംകൊണ്ടും ജീവിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
4But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” Deuteronomy 8:3
5പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ വിശുദ്ധ നഗരത്തില്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രത്തിന്മേല്‍ നിറുത്തി അവനോടു
5Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6നീ ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ എങ്കില്‍ താഴത്തോട്ടു ചാടുക; “നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു അവന്‍ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോടു കല്പിക്കും; അവന്‍ നിന്റെ കാല്‍ കല്ലിനോടു തട്ടാതവണ്ണം നിന്നെ കയ്യില്‍ താങ്ങികൊള്ളും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
6and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you.’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’” Psalm 91:11-12
7യേശു അവനോടു“നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു” എന്നും കൂടെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’” Deuteronomy 6:16
8പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയര്‍ന്നോരു മലമേല്‍ കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും അവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തെയും കാണിച്ചു
8Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
9വീണു എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാല്‍ ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
9He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10യേശു അവനോടുസാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോ; “നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
10Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, TR and NU read “Go away” instead of “Get behind me” Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” Deuteronomy 6:13
11അപ്പോള്‍ പിശാചു അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി; ദൂതന്മാര്‍ അടുത്തുവന്നു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.
11Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
12യോഹന്നാന്‍ തടവില്‍ ആയി എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ അവന്‍ ഗലീലെക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി,
12Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
13നസറെത്ത് വിട്ടു സെബൂലൂന്റെയും നഫ്താലിയുടെയും അതിരുകളില്‍ കടല്‍ക്കരെയുള്ള കഫര്‍ന്നഹൂമില്‍ ചെന്നു പാര്‍ത്തു;
13Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14“സെബൂലൂന്‍ ദേശവും നഫ്താലിദേശവും കടല്‍ക്കരയിലും യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുമുള്ള നാടും ജാതികളുടെ ഗലീലയും .”
14that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
15ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുട്ടില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ജനം വലിയോരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; മരണത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തിലും നിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കും പ്രകാശം ഉദിച്ചു”
15“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
16എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാന്‍ ഇടവന്നു.
16the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:1-2
17അന്നുമുതല്‍ യേശു“സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാല്‍ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവിന്‍ ” എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.
17From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
18അവന്‍ ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോന്‍ , അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് എന്നിങ്ങനെ മീന്‍ പിടിക്കാരായ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ കടലില്‍ വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു
18Walking by the sea of Galilee, he TR reads “Jesus” instead of “he” saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19“എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിന്‍ ; ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും” എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
19He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
20ഉടനെ അവര്‍ വല വിട്ടേച്ചു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
20They immediately left their nets and followed him.
21അവിടെ നിന്നു മുമ്പോട്ടു പോയാറെ സെബെദിയുടെ മകന്‍ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ യോഹന്നാനും എന്ന വേറെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ പടകില്‍ ഇരുന്നു അപ്പനായ സെബദിയുമായി വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു.
21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
22അവരും ഉടനെ പടകിനെയും അപ്പനെയും വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
22They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23പിന്നെ യേശു ഗലീലയില്‍ ഒക്കെയും ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില്‍ ഉപദേശിക്കയും രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ജനത്തിലുള്ള സകലദീനത്തെയും വ്യാധിയെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
23Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി സുറിയയില്‍ ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു. നാനാവ്യാധികളാലും ബാധകളാലും വലഞ്ഞവര്‍, ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തര്‍, ചന്ദ്രരോഗികള്‍, പക്ഷവാതക്കാര്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ സകലവിധ ദീനക്കാരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.
24The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
25അവന്‍ അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി; ഗലീല, ദെക്കപ്പൊലി, യെരൂശലേം, യെഹൂദ്യ, യോര്‍ദ്ദന്നക്കരെ എന്നീ ഇടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നു വളരെ പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പിന്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നു.
25Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
