1ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണങ്ങള്‍ മനുഷ്യന്നുള്ളവ; നാവിന്റെ ഉത്തരമോ യഹോവയാല്‍ വരുന്നു.
1The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.
2മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴികളൊക്കെയും വെടിപ്പായി തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ആത്മാക്കളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.
2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Yahweh weighs the motives.
3നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ യഹോവേക്കു സമര്‍പ്പിക്ക; എന്നാല്‍ നിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ സാധിക്കും.
3Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.
4യഹോവ സകലത്തെയും തന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശത്തിന്നായി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അനര്‍ത്ഥദിവസത്തിന്നായി ദുഷ്ടനെയും കൂടെ.
4Yahweh has made everything for its own end— yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5ഗര്‍വ്വമുള്ള ഏവനും യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; അവന്നു ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ കയ്യടിക്കുന്നു.
5Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh: they shall certainly not be unpunished.
6ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയുംകൊണ്ടു അകൃത്യം പരിഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; യഹോവാഭക്തികൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യര്‍ ദോഷത്തെ വിട്ടകലുന്നു.
6By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.
7ഒരുത്തന്റെ വഴികള്‍ യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയും അവനോടു ഇണക്കുന്നു.
7When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8ന്യായരഹിതമായ വലിയ വരവിനെക്കാള്‍ നീതിയോടെയുള്ള അല്പം നല്ലതു.
8Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.
9മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വഴിയെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലടികളെയോ യഹോവ ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
9A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.
10രാജാവിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില്‍ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടു; ന്യായവിധിയില്‍ അവന്റെ വായ് പിഴെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
10Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king. He shall not betray his mouth.
11ഒത്ത വെള്ളിക്കോലും ത്രാസും യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; സഞ്ചിയിലെ പടി ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാകുന്നു.
11Honest balances and scales are Yahweh’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.
12ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതു രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; നീതികൊണ്ടല്ലോ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുന്നതു.
12It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.
13നീതിയുള്ള അധരങ്ങള്‍ രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും പ്രസാദം; നേര്‍ പറയുന്നവനെ അവര്‍ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
13Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.
14രാജാവിന്റെ ക്രോധം മരണദൂതന്നു തുല്യം; ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോ അതിനെ ശമിപ്പിക്കും.
14The king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.
15രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശത്തില്‍ ജീവന്‍ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പ്രസാദം പിന്മഴെക്കുള്ള മേഘം പോലെയാകുന്നു.
15In the light of the king’s face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.
16തങ്കത്തെക്കാള്‍ ജ്ഞാനത്തെ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര നല്ലതു! വെള്ളിയെക്കാള്‍ വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര ഉത്തമം!
16How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
17ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നതു നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പെരുവഴി; തന്റെ വഴി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്‍ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
17The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.
18നാശത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഗര്‍വ്വം; വീഴ്ചകൂ മുമ്പെ ഉന്നതഭാവം.
18Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19ഗര്‍വ്വികളോടുകൂടെ കവര്‍ച്ച പങ്കിടുന്നതിനെക്കാള്‍ താഴ്മയുള്ളവരോടുകൂടെ താഴ്മയുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.
19It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.
20തിരുവചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന്‍ നന്മ കണ്ടെത്തും; യഹോവയില്‍ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ഭാഗ്യവാന്‍ .
20He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.
21ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന്‍ വിവേകി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അധരമാധുര്യം വിദ്യയെ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
21The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.
22വിവേകം വിവേകിക്കു ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു. ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ പ്രബോധനമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നേ.
22Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, but the punishment of fools is their folly.
23ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വിദ്യ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
23The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.
24ഇമ്പമുള്ള വാക്കു തേന്‍ കട്ടയാകുന്നു; മനസ്സിന്നു മധുരവും അസ്ഥികള്‍ക്കു ഔഷധവും തന്നേ;
24Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നുന്നു. അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള്‍ അത്രേ.
25There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
26പണിക്കാരന്റെ വിശപ്പു അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു പണി ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വായ് അവനെ അതിന്നായി നിര്‍ബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.
26The appetite of the laboring man labors for him; for his mouth urges him on.
27നിസ്സാരമനുഷ്യന്‍ പാതകം എന്ന കുഴികുഴിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില്‍ കത്തുന്ന തീ ഉണ്ടു.
27A worthless man devises mischief. His speech is like a scorching fire.
28വക്രതയുള്ള മനുഷ്യന്‍ വഴക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഏഷണിക്കാരന്‍ മിത്രങ്ങളെ ഭേദിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
28A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.
29സഹാസക്കാരന്‍ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വശീകരിക്കയും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത വഴിയില്‍ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
29A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.
30കണ്ണു അടെക്കുന്നവന്‍ വക്രത നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വപ്പു കടിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ദോഷം നിവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.
30One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, one who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.
31നരച്ച തല ശോഭയുള്ള കിരീടമാകുന്നു; നീതിയുടെ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ അതിനെ പ്രാപിക്കാം.
31Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.
32ദീര്‍ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന്‍ യുദ്ധവീരനിലും ജിതമാനസന്‍ പട്ടണം പിടിക്കുന്നവനിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്‍ .
32One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
33ചീട്ടു മടിയില്‍ ഇടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വിധാനമോ യഹോവയാലത്രേ.
33The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from Yahweh.
