¹സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്‍ത്തനം.

²എന്റെ പുകഴ്ചയായ ദൈവമേ, മൌനമായിരിക്കരുതേ.

²for they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.

³ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വായും വഞ്ചകന്റെ വായും എന്റെ നേരെ തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷകുള്ള നാവുകൊണ്ടു അവര്‍ എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

³They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

⁴അവര്‍ ദ്വേഷവാക്കുകള്‍കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്നോടു പൊരുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁴In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.

⁵എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു പകരം അവര്‍ വൈരം കാണിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനോ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁵They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

⁶നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മയും സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു പകരം ദ്വേഷവും അവര്‍ എന്നോടു കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁶Set a wicked man over him. Let an adversary stand at his right hand.

⁷നീ അവന്റെമേല്‍ ഒരു ദുഷ്ടനെ നിയമിക്കേണമേ; എതിരാളി അവന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു നില്‍ക്കട്ടെ.

⁷When he is judged, let him come forth guilty. Let his prayer be turned into sin.

⁸അവനെ വിസ്തരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ കുറ്റക്കാരനെന്നു തെളിയട്ടെ; അവന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന പാപമായി തീരട്ടെ.

⁸Let his days be few. Let another take his office.

⁹അവന്റെ നാളുകള്‍ ചുരുങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അവന്റെ സ്ഥാനം മറ്റൊരുത്തന്‍ ഏല്‍ക്കട്ടെ.

⁹Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

¹⁰അവന്റെ മക്കള്‍ അനാഥരും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ വിധവയും ആയി തീരട്ടെ.

¹⁰Let his children be wandering beggars. Let them be sought from their ruins.

¹¹അവന്റെ മക്കള്‍ അലഞ്ഞു തെണ്ടിനടക്കട്ടെ. തങ്ങളുടെ ശൂന്യഭവനങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഇരന്നു നടക്കട്ടെ;

¹¹Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.

¹²കടക്കാരന്‍ അവന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൊണ്ടു പോകട്ടെ; അന്യജാതിക്കാര്‍ അവന്റെ പ്രയത്നഫലം കൊള്ളയിടട്ടെ.

¹²Let there be no one to extend kindness to him, neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.

¹³അവന്നു ദയ കാണിപ്പാന്‍ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകരുതേ; അവന്റെ അനാഥരോടു ആര്‍ക്കും കൃപ തോന്നരുതേ.

¹³Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.

¹⁴അവന്റെ സന്തതി മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകട്ടെ; അടുത്ത തലമുറയില്‍ തന്നേ അവരുടെ പേര്‍ മാഞ്ഞു പോകട്ടെ;

¹⁴Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by Yahweh. Don’t let the sin of his mother be blotted out.

¹⁵അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം യഹോവ ഔര്‍ക്കുംമാറാകട്ടെ; അവന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പാപം മാഞ്ഞുപോകയുമരുതേ.

¹⁵Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off their memory from the earth;

¹⁶അവ എല്ലായ്പോഴും യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; അവരുടെ ഔര്‍മ്മ അവന്‍ ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

¹⁶because he didn’t remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.

¹⁷അവന്‍ ദയ കാണിപ്പാന്‍ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; എളിയവനെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും മനംതകര്‍ന്നവനെയും മരണപര്യന്തം ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

¹⁷Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him. He didn’t delight in blessing, and it was far from him.

¹⁸ശാപം അവന്നു പ്രിയമായിരുന്നു; അതു അവന്നു ഭവിച്ചു; അനുഗ്രഹം അവന്നു അപ്രിയമായിരുന്നു; അതു അവനെ വിട്ടകന്നു പോയി.

¹⁸He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment. It came into his inward parts like water, like oil into his bones.

¹⁹അവന്‍ വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ശാപം ധരിച്ചു; അതു വെള്ളംപോലെ അവന്റെ ഉള്ളിലും എണ്ണപോലെ അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിലും ചെന്നു.

¹⁹Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself, for the belt that is always around him.

²⁰അതു അവന്നു പുതെക്കുന്ന വസ്ത്രംപോലെയും നിത്യം അരെക്കു കെട്ടുന്ന കച്ചപോലെയും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

²⁰This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh, of those who speak evil against my soul.

²¹ഇതു എന്റെ എതിരാളികള്‍ക്കും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി ദോഷം പറയുന്നവര്‍ക്കും യഹോവ കൊടുക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം ആകുന്നു.

²¹But deal with me, Yahweh the Lord, The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” for your name’s sake, because your loving kindness is good, deliver me;

²²നീയോ കര്‍ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നടുത്തവണ്ണം എന്നോടു ചെയ്യേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയ നല്ലതാകകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.

²²for I am poor and needy. My heart is wounded within me.

²³ഞാന്‍ അരിഷ്ടനും ദരിദ്രനും ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില്‍ മുറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

²³I fade away like an evening shadow. I am shaken off like a locust.

²⁴ചാഞ്ഞുപോകുന്ന നിഴല്‍പോലെ ഞാന്‍ കടന്നുപോകുന്നു; ഒരു വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ ചാടിക്കുന്നു.

²⁴My knees are weak through fasting. My body is thin and lacks fat.

²⁵എന്റെ മുഴങ്കാലുകള്‍ ഉപവാസംകൊണ്ടു വിറെക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ദേഹം പുഷ്ടിവിട്ടു ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁵I have also become a reproach to them. When they see me, they shake their head.

²⁶ഞാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും ഒരു നിന്ദയായ്തീര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.

²⁶Help me, Yahweh, my God. Save me according to your loving kindness;

²⁷എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദയെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

²⁷that they may know that this is your hand; that you, Yahweh, have done it.

²⁸യഹോവേ, ഇതു നിന്റെ കൈ എന്നും നീ ഇതു ചെയ്തു എന്നും അവര്‍ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

²⁸They may curse, but you bless. When they arise, they will be shamed, but your servant shall rejoice.

²⁹അവര്‍ ശപിക്കട്ടെ; നീയോ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ; അവര്‍ എതിര്‍ക്കുംമ്പോള്‍ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ; അടിയനോ സന്തോഷിക്കും;

²⁹Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor. Let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.

³⁰എന്റെ എതിരാളികള്‍ നിന്ദ ധരിക്കും; പുതെപ്പു പുതെക്കുംപോലെ അവര്‍ ലജ്ജ പുതെക്കും.

³⁰I will give great thanks to Yahweh with my mouth. Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.

³¹ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വായ്കൊണ്ടു യഹോവയെ അത്യന്തം സ്തുതിക്കും; അതേ, ഞാന്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്‍ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തും.

³¹For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who judge his soul.

³²അവന്‍ എളിയവനെ ശിക്ഷെക്കു വിധിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ അവന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു.
